30 min penalty for DC 1st time

I'm over temper tantrum players DCing in the first moments cuz they're downed. SO OVER IT! Harsh penalties are the only way this will stop. If you have poor internet and that's your excuse I DON'T Care. Don't play this game. Please add super strict penalties because babies ruin too many games. 5 min isn't enough. Nothing has changed with these lite penalties so far.

The penalties are not even online. Have to lived on the moon in the past?

Like I said bad internet don't play. People DC left and right 2 game today and already a dc in 2 min of playing. If you can't handle getting caught and you throw a fit get lost.

Until 2 weeks ago there was a Bug in this game which led to Survivors getting stuck at Hills. Or a Bug where a Killer was not able to use his power. Guess you have to enjoy 30 minutes of waiting when this happens and you dont want to spend the game either stuck at one place or being man with a sword.

DBD is not a bugfree game, 5 minutes for the first penalty are enough.

When players get downed and then DC. It's not the internets problem

no. there should always be a very short timer first for the people who have to dc over a bug or internet issues

Then the game needs to realize downed/interrupted to DC time if they are to close together. HARSH penalties for them.

Your internet isn't the cause of losing connection, it's the games poor servers. I can play COD 2019 for hours on end without any issues, but as soon as I swap to DBD I'll experience frame drops, lagging, and I'll occassionaly lose connection.

Absolutely not. 30 minutes ban because the game kicked me out?

Deal with it or YOU are the one who needs to stop playing with game, not the person who has internet issues.

I just had a cocky, bloody Dwight continuously teabag and get me to chase them. One hit shortly afterwards, followed by stepping in a trap and they dc'd.

It may have been Friday 13th that had a lobby purely for cheaters or something? Dbd would probably be best to follow that example, since presently any penalty system done so far has been hacked.

maybe the penalty shouldn’t be a timeout.

1st DC? Next match will cost you 10k bloodpoints

then 20k. Then 30k and so on. Sure, some people have all characters maxed out,but the majority of players want their points!

Believe me I would love to see the DC ban come back. However I agree with some of the other replies that a single first time DC being five minutes is good, it means if someone is disconnected because of some unexpected problem they have a few minutes to see what the issue was and figure it out and can play again afterward. Multiple disconnects though is when the bans should ramp up quickly.

And on a side note the great majority of disconnects are obvious rage quits, not actual technical problems. They almost always happen immediately after someone is downed or grabbed or hooked. I can’t remember ever seeing someone disconnect when they were winning the game for example. It’s always when something bad happens to them.

I get what you mean but if you would have to wait it out for 30 minutes, why shouldnt they leave then of the penalty is also 30 minutes anyway?

Like i said i get what you meant and you are right with that, but repeated DCs still should be punished harder. (if the DC penaltys come back)

@PB_TORCHer welcome to the forums where you will be tar and feathered for saying stuff like this.

I think most humans feel the good of the few (crashes, internet outages) should outweigh the good of the many. So essentially I agree with you.

antecdotally I’m guessing less than 5% of DC are due to third party reasons, most are people pulling the plug or flat quitting.

It would be the best of both worlds if BHVR could detect the difference and assign time outs accordingly. I lean more toward heavy handed, 1 minute, 15 minutes, 1 hour, 8 hours, 24 hours in a rolling 72 hour period.

You would think they could program it it in pretty easily: Menu was opened -> Disconnect button was selected.

Some people pull this plug, but lots use the in-game option. At least this should be easily traceable.....

Yes/ NO I don't care. Babies should stick to fortnite . Harsh punishments will be the only powerful solution.

repeated DCs, yes. And they get more severe with the (currently disabled) DC-penalty. I think it was 15 minutes after 5 minutes and the third time is 30 minutes.

But 30 minutes for the first time is too much.

WOW just hopped back on after being on this forum and a player DC'd in the first 3 min from being tunneled after a hook. So tell me again how this doesn't need to be addressed

30 min. would GREATLY defer babies from quitting and if not good bye!

Instead of a penalty DCs should make the game easier for the remaining players: BP boost (unless people are in an sfw and one of them discos), faster gen times, lower TR and slight speedboost etc

It's perfectly code-able and it'd benefit the remaining players.

    I agree.

Other games have a much harsher punishment for disconnecting and abandoning the game. Bugs do exist in other games as well, I think for repeat offenders a week ban is fine. But BHVR needs to fix their ban system beforehand so that other clients can not cause bans for others. Look at CS:GO look at dota 2 etc.. i don't have any sympathy for people who act like kids when they do not get their way.

sure you can do all that and the killer gets a speed boost, and all gens get ruin that keeps working while survivors are on it. every dc gives a killer 3 hook states, points with that, the sac points and a bbq stack even if they don't run bbq.

Perhaps create a post worth discussing. You create a post complaining about temper tantrum, when all your post does is rage.

You want to make 30 minute DC penalties for a first time offender, how is this useful or constructive?

This has already been discussed about 1,000 times, but thanks for your truly biased post based solely on your personal experience and emotions.

No one likes DCs, but 30 minutes is excessive for one DC a day.

Or you know, instead of having a DC ban just throw anyone who DCs a certain amount of times into a separate matchmaking queue with other people that DC. Problem solved.
