Thats the only reason why he's strong. Otherwise he's just an M1 killer.
51 -
That's kind of his one thing he can do. I don't think he's considered all that strong a killer tbh
9 -
He also has the ability to shock everyone around him at the same time to see where everyone is at. It's so annoying, I could be I unspotted the entire game and be doing gens but he can still find me in seconds because of that stupid power.
1 -
His power is information and unsafe shutdowns. Why would you loop one like that if he lands his shocks?
14 -
That's the only thing he can do in a chase. Without that his power would be pure utility, and pure utility powers are insanely weak. Even slight chase potential with lots of utility isn't good, Legion for example.
Doctor having medium anti-loop and really good utility is why he's a good Killer. If you removed one of those, which you are suggesting we do, then you end up with a weak Killer.
17 -
Also, calm spirit counters his tracking, but does NOT counter his stall or anti-loop. So if this is the aspect of doctor that you hate then calm spirit doesn't remove that.
7 -
He is good the way he is, he does not need any adjustments from my opinion. Though let's say that he is no longer capable of shutting tight loops or average based ones. How would he fare off, I mean he is an m1 killer and as one of the member's said, "he is an information and shutdown based killer."
1 -
You can actually bait the shock and ditch the Doctor. He is slowed a bit while shocking.
5 -
Nice bait
6 -
It's actually way harder to pull of than you'd think. Just expect it and outrun him. It slows him down a lot.

This is a joke right?
1 -
Solution: Get better at the game.
2 -
? How is That a bad thing that's kinda the whole big shabang of his power lol
1 -
A toddler can play the doctor. It takes no skill to just zap zap zap.
0 -
He slows down, it has to load and it's pretty short. It's even too weak if you ask me.
3 -
When playing the doctor you just prethrow the pallet on short loops and then just use the entire structure as the loop and dont try and vault it as thats where you normally get hit.
0 -
"I can't loop this killer in the same way I loop every other killers, instead of trying something different, can we change the game?"
6 -
Poor bait.

Calm spirit doesn't counter doctor, it just prevents you from screaming. His ability to deny pallets, vaults and DH is his main power: everything else is only good against the kind of survivors that panic just because the killer knows where they are.

Doc is a killer of wits
When ppl say don't do the same stuff against him... They mean it the absolute thing to against doc is panic and be predictable.
If you don't mix what you know you will be absolutely ######### a doc that can read you is a doc that will kill you.
Be smart remain calm and split up and the start.
It sounds dumb but even if doc finds finding one dude is less advantage for a doc since if he only gets one he has to wait 60 seconds which is a big deal
Tldr don't be a book be British weather aka unpredictable af

GIT GUD

Howbis he strong without the shock?
0 -
The trick is to throw pallets earlier then normal. They have to anticipate when you'll throw the pallet to shock you so you just throw it a loop earlier
If they try to shock you too soon you can get another loop in because of the slowdown he recieves
0 -
Take this away and he becomes Clown level of bad.
1 -
I have some advice.
git gud

That doesn't matter if he has zero answers to loops. The ability to restrict certain movements by shocking them is the thing that makes Doc.
0 -
His only guaranteed use of his shock therapy is to deny small to medium junk loops and that's basically it. While it is annoying that you can just spam his ability and I would definitely be all for some kind of change to make it better in more situations but to remove the spamminess of it, I don't think it's much of an issue. It would make him more engaging to play though because new Doctor is really boring to me now. The one thing that does need changing are his range and discipline add-ons. They're massive levels of dumb when you combine the two together and the green and purple discipline add-ons absolutely need nerfing, or at least the shock delay effect removed from them.

not being able to pick up survivors 120 seconds each is terrible

I see these comments so often.
Doctor no skill, spirit no skill, Oni no skill, Deathslinger no skill, Freddy no skill.
Do you have to be a rank 1 console nurse to demonstrate you have skill as a killer?
5 -
Lockers are your friend.
0 -
Drop the pallet early, avoid the shock, and plan ahead. It's pretty simple actually.
0 -
I'm only referring to doctor, and maybe Freddy. Spirit requires timing after coming out of phase. Oni requires practice to have good control of his dash. Death slinger requires a good aim.
1 -
That's all he's got in a chase. Without it, Doc is just an M1 Killer with good tracking (other people have listed counters in this thread). Finding Survivors is only part of the game. Killers also need an anti-loop tool, otherwise they are too reliant on Survivor mistakes to get downs.

Which doesn't really do that much after a certain point. Yay, I know where someone was. Now I have to hoof it over the map by which time they are not only in the wind, but two gens have popped behind me.
I love playing doctor, but there is a reason that he isn't a high tier pick.
0 -
Surv sided mentality they want to get total power on the chase.
0 -
Neither M1ing but shutting down need more skill than "skillchecks"
0 -
M1ing a gen have more skills than those killers!!! You need to be blinded and deaf while playing clown no add ons or perks and 4k those "1%" SWAT team to be considered skilled enought.
1 -
yet their never there when you need them
0 -
If only there was a perk called calm spirit that allowed you to completely stop from screaming when you are hit by a fear causing effect and not alert the killer to your location.... Oh wait. There is.
0 -
Playing as doctor is fun, and easy. Playing against him is aggravating as hell.
0 -
Drop it early, loop around it until you can, or leave the loop if it’s too unsafe
0 -
That's just how Doctor works, there's no stealthing a killer whose power is designed to reveal locations and hinder survivor interactions. There are counters to his power, like staying out of his Terror Radius, running Calm Spirit, or memorizing when he gains Static Blast, so you know when you can enter lockers to avoid the shock.

Firstly, no, Calm Spirit isn't that good against Doctor. I've been a Doctor main since early 2019-late 2018 (forgot when I started playing) till now and honestly Calm Spirit doesn't bother me as much as everyone says it should. Maybe I'm just good (I don't use his aura add-ons btw) at tracking (and just play Doctor for his end chase and slowdown), but Calm Spirit ain't a problem. Even if theoretically it was, we can still see Hallucinations, Hallucinations don't stop existing when you bring Calm Spirit.
Lastly, you didn't read the post or title. Here's their complaint, "Especially on already short loops, It's annoying that he can just shock you over and over, and while your screaming, you aren't able to throw pallets or jump over them." They hate Shock Therapy, not Static Blast. And Calm Spirit doesn't stop Shock Therapy.

Don’t hide, learn how to loop. His power is about location.
0 -
You can also take alternate pathing such as running around another side or obstacle instead of through the pallet.
