Just got rank 1 survivor and I still haven't figured out how to do a chase

The emblem system badly needs reworked. You can basically crouch around the map, participate in repairs on a few generators, run in to get 1 or 2 people off the hook, maybe heal them up as well, and that's basically a guaranteed pip. The only emblem out of the 4 that survivors have that requires any sort of skill whatsoever is the chase emblem. I always get no emblem or sometimes bronze in the chase category, if I have urban evasion and was crouching in the terror radius while someone was getting hooked :X.

Anyways, I got the legendary survivor achievement and rank 1 and I have no idea what I'm doing. It feels disrespectful to the game itself that someone like me would be at the same rank as the best players in the game.

I actually have more hours into killer than survivor, but my killer is only rank 6. It's still relatively easy to pip as killer, too, but feels a little more challenging, and I have more bad games as killer than as survivor.

Also, games have not gotten more challenging as I've ranked up. The only thing I notice at high rank is that 99% of my games are either Billy, Nurse, 1 shot Huntress, or tombstone Meyers. The only exceptions to those killers are when people need to do their dailies on another killer. Maybe 1 or 2 Hag or Pig mains.

I did want the achievement but if I don't feel like I legitimately earned it (through skill), it doesn't feel very good to get it :X.

They made it easier to rank up and while it made some games more trivial, it made lobbies quicker to fill and sometimes even that's not enough. Sometimes I have to wait a long time, especially at rank reset. Even then I frequently go against the same groups several games in a row and it gets boring. I know their perks and get a read on their playstyles. Just think if they shrunk that pool even more. There aren't as many really good rank 1s as people think... to fill up the gaps throughout the differnt times of day.

ya they need to remove safety pips and make it harder to pip in general

The chances of winning a chase against an experienced killer is pretty small, even more so if they land a hit on you right away. If you try to juke them they will easily follow your bloodstains and audio grunts.

One of the exhaustion perks is almost a must have as well.

Knowing map layouts and rng being in your favor helps a lot... like really A LOT! Lol. The right window being available can greatly raise your chances to escape.

Or you could just find an annoying loop and the killer will just go away haha.

Lol this guy just got rank 1 survivor hahahahahaha and he’s complaining about something. What a newbie.

You can get rank 1 survivor 10 seasons in a row and still be ignorant.

Until you get rank 1 killer, a few times now because it’s easer I than before, don’t talk.

Thing is, objectively you are playing the game well and playing how this game was probably intended. This was intended more for hide and seek and not just parkour/360/looping. Really 'chasing' is actually abusing map locations.

I'm not a guy and yes, I am a newbie (purchased the game just over 3 months ago) :P. And yes, I'm complaining that I am a rank 1 survivor and should not be....I am terrible at the game. And yes, I also said in my post that getting rank ups on my killer was harder (I'm only rank 6 on it, although I haven't played it as much lately and have been steadily climbing on that as well).

Yeah, if looping was actually not intended then I guess I am playing the game how it's supposed to be played. I generally run windows of opportunity and run to the nearest pallet or window if caught, jump through it/pull it down, and then keep running until I'm caught.

If that's the case, though, then literally anyone could play the game well, because I feel there's not any skill required except in chases. There's maybe a tiny amount in keeping an eye out for the killer and avoiding getting caught in the first place, but that's mostly crouching around line of sight blockers....and you generally can't get any points towards the "chase" emblem that way, unless the killer is really bad and just cannot find you at all while you're within his terror radius.
