Pyramid head counterplay.
I really need to know what is his counter play. Because as far as I see you can go for a pallet/window and take a hit from his power or you can not take the pallet/window and take a m1 hit. I love playing killer but when I play survivor I wonder what Pyramid head counter play is.

Get to the pallet and drop it / or window before PH can line up a ranged shot. If you cant do this take a different route till you can.

In my experience playing as him a lot his power attack isn't that great. Its barely faster than survivors base speed, and its a single line that also stops Pyramid Head in place. While it can be useful if you use some consumables to increase its range, I generally don't use it too often. His biggest thing that can be hard to deal with is the lines he can leave behind, while its hard to do you can make a perfect circle around some objectives making it impossible for a survivor to cross it without alerting the killer. If pyramid head is trying to use his power attack, just bob and weave to side step it, happens all the time against me when I play as him.
(I also never use the cage of atonement because I have no ######### clue where the cages go, and it consumes torment which I prefer they keep on them so I can execute them.)

Well as I say if you don't drop it well then he cancels his power then can just m1 you. Unless you are 50 feet ahead of him he will always have a shot.

Distance is key against a pyramid head , if you allow him to get close enough while you're injured that's when you get caught in the "if I take this window I'm dead and if I don't he'll just m1 me down" situation, but try running spine chill for a while get some distance to find your safety and break LOS when you can , if you get hit it's better to run through a pallet than to drop it and just use the speed boost to get out of that area then do what's necessary to stay up from there on , a big problem is that people want to loop in a general area with pyramid head because he feels like a m1 killer you're against but that's when you end up in the uncounterable situation by him gaining that distance on you injured

you hope he's bad, much like Slinger

Well the fact that he is a base speed killer makes it super hard to try and keep distance so trying to leave a loop still results in a m1. I dont really like to run spine chill because in my opinion there is better perks to run. By the time spine chill goes off he is too close to make good distance from his ranged attack.

You said yourself you don't run it, give it a try I think you'd be surprised how much distance you get

Well maybe you are right but I like to run perks that I have fun with. Im not it would not work but I just want to know how I could counter him with just skill alone.

From what I've seen thus far, it's kind of similar to Deathbringer or Huntress. Don't run in a straight line, don't charge them and be mindful when using pallets and windows.

Don't drop the pallet if you heard or saw the animation stab ground, if he does, try to be quickly running around a loop to waste the time he wasted doing that animation because the slower speed.
If he got you with no chance to reach the pallet then fake it if he is trying to use his ranged attack.
If you got enough distance to drop the pallet before he can replace himself to hit you with his ranged attack, do it so he will be forced to loop around it or break the pallet (wich probably he will be try to hit you with his ranged attack while you vault the pallet or window while looping that pallet)
BECAREFUL, his range add ons are good so you couldnt expect a hit from that far so keep in mind he could have those.
And the most important thing, always remember if you get stuck on an animation (drop pallet, vault pallet, vault window, unhook) pyramid head will much probably hit you if he is close enough, for example: jumping the window in the yellow truck on autohaven can be a fail if pyramid attacks you while you are falling, he just need to know how to play him and with what I said i can be effective depending on situation

Quick tip, if you are in a loop and if he misses his PoTD, instantly drop pallet and hold W unless you have to go in his direction to find the next loop. He's strong at loops so don't challenge him.

So, basically, if he's close... hope he misses?

The same thing you do vs any killer with decent/good chase power. You stay outside of their reach and play unpredictably.

The same with any killer, ranged or melee.

I'd say that really only applies to Deathslinger and Pyramid Head, because those are the only two that can zone with a ranged attack. If most killers are near you, you just need to vault or drop a pallet before they can swing. It doesn't work like that against Deathslinger and Pyramid Head.

When his sword is down dont drop a Palette or jump a Window (if his sword is not down you can do it and still have time to dodge the wave).
He can only drop his sword for 5sec (without addons) and he moves slower just run away.
His wave can always be dodged (PH has to guess the direction you dodge to get a hit).
Similar to Deathslinger you drop Palettes early cuz you dont want to end in a lose / lose situation (something you can avoid).

Counterplay doesn't mean counter. There may be no hard counter to some killers. That's fine.

But my DS/BT has to work against every Killer in every Situation this is not fair

- Predict it and bait him.
- Many loops have the pallet where he has a straight at it one way, but an angle if you run it the other way. Dont run it the way that gives him the straight line
- Hold W as much as possible, he has no counter to this and you will waste so much time

I don't actually use PH's ranged attack because I run STBFL. Probably not the best perk for him but it works for me lol.
