As soon as I turned off crossplay I've been getting way better games as a survivor
When I had crossplay on I was getting terrible games and I kept losing games along with my friend when we would play, but as soon as I turned off crossplay I started winning games again and it felt so good fighting against killers again because it became fun.
Queue times aren't that long if you have a buddy with you because it takes 1-5 minutes to hop in a game.
And yes we would still lose games but at least it wasn't as often as all the time
PC player by the way.

It's kind of hard to tell what you're saying when you don't mention which system you're playing.

PC

That checks out, then. Yeah, I've also disabled it on PC and don't see much of a reason not to.

What is the message of this thread? Console killers too good for you? Console killers are camping/tunneling way more? Console mates are worse than PC mates? I am confused.

Nah I'm just saying that if people keep getting bad console teammates then it's better to turn off crossplay and nothing wrong with console killers console killers are fine but the survivors for consoles are just bad (course there are good ones but I've seen a lot of bad console players) like really bad I've watched them play and it made me realized I gotta turn off the crossplay and you know what it was worth it because I got better teammates that didn't get down in the last 10 seconds of the start of the game or didn't keep making terrible mistakes, and it's always the console players that are the first to die or DC right away

They should remove the globe icon from cross-play players names. I'm sure that all these differences between console/pc are completely in people heads and those globes only add to confirmation biases. There are good players and bad players on every platform, and you'll have good and bad games no matter what you do.

PS4 - I turned it off after the first day. Aside from the console performance issues and it feeling more laggy/glitchy it felt like I was just getting non-stop terrible teammates if I didn't have a ps4 player in my lobby with me. If there was no other ps4 player on my team I was left on first hook until I would usually die or sometimes struggle, never saved before struggle. I could see my teammates weren't doing anything - no gens, no totems, just wandering around or hiding across the map. If I had atleast one ps4 player (more was better) we'd save eachother and the others off hook before struggle and gens would actually get completed. It kind of felt like players would see the globes in their lobby and decide they wouldn't help players from other platforms to escape, there was just no teamwork to be found.

I think what OP said is true but not because of the reason stated. "New Players" wouldn't notice the disable crossplay feature so you are only getting more experienced people in your lobbies so I think you'll get better survivors if you disable crossplay regardless of your platform. :)

Not to be that guy, and I respect your opinion because as console I know how bad some are. But PC are just the same. There's no 'one is better than the other'. I see far more PC players dying or DC'ing instantly pretty often. Not trying to start an argument here, just stating that console don't hold the exclusive rights to be trash.

Oh god this thread again?
Yes PC players are amazing at the game and playing solo queue on PC was great before the devs added crossplay. We get it. /s

PC player here —for some reason I'm unable to turn off crossplay, like the option is greyed out?

Man if you think console survivors arent good you have not seen me play yikes.

You have to access the option from the main menu. Once you are in a lobby as killer or survivor the option will be greyed out.

Honestly everyone on crossplay is bad. That is the main reason why I turned it off. Terrible teammates! I'm on xbox btw. Oh and the globe doesn't necessarily mean its a console player if your on pc js.

console player here, i hated playing with crossplay, as a killer the fps difference and lag on console because of bad optimization make me lose chases or getting larger ones my normal chase time is 30 sec or less and i got gen rushed still. As a survivor i was only gettig matches against huntresses (good ones because of the mouse) pc blights etc were impossible to 360 or have a good loop without dropping every pallet. 14 loses in a row, turned crossplay off, started to have more balanced and fun matches (i got more MORIS BUT i could escape more)

To turn it off you gotta be right in the menu like the menu to choose survivor or killer then you go to options and turn it off

So you were getting wrecked by console killers and went back to EZ mode versuing pc killers 😂😂
