No big changes ever coming to dbd?
We haven't gotten anything new regarding core gameplay for dbd and I don't think we ever will. Is it too much to ask for to add something new to the game other than more or less pallets or faster or slower gens?

Maybe they are afraid that something new (like a second objective) might break the game. Every innovation must harmonize with the existing variables.

naw, making a 'game name 2' for the sake of new gameplay elements is... not a good thing. other games have shown that, unfortunately.
sure, it sounds like the most logical way, but lbr:
it'd make more sense to develop a couple of ideas, and then put it up to the community to say which of these they'd like to see the most and then put on a long PTB to let people test things out proper.
For example: If the devs were to make a chapter that introduces roleswaps of killers and survivors (so, killer versions of survs, and the other way round) a mode akin to Among Us and similar games would be possible. (i mean, the idea is a pretty old concept that was played long before computers were a thing)

No. If its good enough to be sold and keep you playing for 2h, until you cant refund anymore, thats enough. May be improved only to hold you a little longer so that you buy few dlcs. :^)

Also don't forget a lot of those breakable walls are strictly disadvantageous for the killers to even break so they might as well just be normal walls.
I am looking at you new haddon and midwich where some breakable walls open new loops and shortcuts for survivors.
