Survivor Stereotypes and Reputations
So off the top of my head I had a couple of those meme-linked stereotypes floating about that have come up with survivors over the years and wanted to help bring them together. If you guys have any to add please feel free to - though it being a known meme or something would be nice.
----------------------
Dwight Fairfield - Likes to Gen Jockey by design. Old Stereotype that they're bad at chases and hide in lockers often.
Meg Thomas - Likes to early drop Pallets and has coined the term "Meg-head" due to often vaulting into killers or making obviously bad decisions.
Claudette Morel - Blendettes like to hide in bushes and crouch in corners against brick walls. Stereotyped to watching her friends die on hook while massaging her thigh.
Nea Karlsson - Actually the Entity and hidden Killer mastermind in this game. Streotyped to sandbag teammates and creeps around the map in urban evasion.
Jake Park - The mute that refuses to scream or groan in pain. He leaves plenty of scratch marks and blood because he forgot about those but he's like the average guy trying to stealth but makes wet hamburger noises to communicate with the killer.
David King - (Credits to pwncxkes for reminding me) Mr. Super Altruism. What my teammate is in trouble? He will run one thousand miles to get to them. What the killer is face camping? No problem - will rescue without borrowed time because he can totally Dead Hard immediately, right? Exhausted, miles from the nearest loop and still in the red stain of the killer... David will question his life decisions but regret nothing.
Laurie Strode - Buff girl on campus. She has a big stick and is stereotyped to chase the killer on occasion like an annoying Karen telling him to live better.
Ace Visconti - Quietiest Looping "Genius". Stereotyped to be allergic to Generators and would rather spam vaults or flashlight click to incite chases rather than be "bored" ever.
William "Bill" Overbeck - Was pretty cool in Left 4 Dead... now he's surrounded by even bigger pansys that he usually has to end up dying for.
Feng Min - "Gamer" girl - she wears bunny hoodies and takes the game extra seriously. Similar to Ace but a little less allergic to generators.
Jane Romero - Thicc girl who obscures the camera and somehow squeezes into lockers a lot. Unlike Dwight - she gets a pass because her booty doesn't quit.
Adam Francis - Hides in Bushes and against rocks aka a male Blendette. He might be a cool guy once you got to know him but institutionalized to be a loner throwing rocks (*maybe I should go here...*)
Jeff Johansen - An out of shape Jesus-wannabe oaf gasping for air from the shortest of jogs. May be a smoker.
Quentin Smith - The red-headed stepchild that no one plays... (credits to Oxygen for the following) Someone on the spectrum of being an absolute Savant or a low functioning autistic man.
Steve Harrington - White Knighting Simp who cries in pain and fright at every little thing but will die in 1 for 1 trades as long as it's a female friend.
Kate Denson - (Credits to PigMainClaudette) Cosmetics prom queen and Belle, more worried about looking good rather than blending in or even surviving. Exceedingly average at everything else.
Detective David Tapp - (Credits to Toybasher) - Immersed in all black he'll hide and do generators but more importantly if you try to slug and leave him on the ground he will be crawling away at a tenacious mach 2 holding an unbreakable soul guard in wait. Pick up the cop and don't be the monologuing villain of the movie.
Ash Williams - (Credits to TheWarNung The class clown. Full of pithy quips but plays kinda goofy, like you're not sure whether he's just bad at the game or more focused on memeing than survival. You loved him in those movies, but here you kind of wish he would stop sputtering raspberries at the killer because it's sort of giving your position away.
Nancy Wheeler - (Credits to TheWarNung) The more terrified version of Claudette. Likes to play stealthy and immersed, but finds it a lot harder to pull off then Claudette because you usually find her wearing a bright white shirt. Has a bad habit of hiding in lockers and hyperventilating whenever the killer gets close.
Yui Kimura - Ms. Protection Hit farmer. What a survivor got downed a mere 4m from the closest hook? Time for Breakout to shine, as long as I take a single hit that guy is sure to struggle ou... damn SO CLOSE.
Zarina Kassir - Tough cookie on the outside, crumbles easily. Don't let her aloof and hardened demeanor fool you as she whines and wanes and begins to panic and abandon her friends to escape as the match gets harder. Door opens? She's gone.
Ceryl Mason
... Felix Richter
Have any more for you guys to add that aren't just "This one Yui that I saw was breaking totems so she just wants to bone" etc etc. ?

I saw this once, I always wished they included Zarinas (she's my second main) but alas not many people play her. Guess I'll have to set a (good?) standard.

As anecdotal as it is, my experiences with him has given me a pretty weird stereotype for... Quentin of all people.
Rather rare for starters, but Quentin players pretty much always seem to either be confused and not that great or really good. Very rarely average or just "meh", so in one way or another the Quentins I do run into end up being memorable for one reason or another a lot of the time 😄
3 -
I play a lot of Ash and like Zarina's perks a lot... still haven't seen enough of either of them to set a stereotype for them because most people playing them are just average competent folks with a potato or two mixed in (including myself at times lol)

Added that for Quentin

Waitiing on the Richter Scales jokes to come in...

I was thinking more about a reference to him having a brother named Simon.
0 -
Kate - Wishes they could be her or be with her. Most likely a casual who's decent enough at the game, and can hold their own but nowhere near streamer level . Enjoys the cosmetic side of things more than other survivors.

Each time I see a David King they are REALLY altruistic, like they would die for their team. They would do anything in there power to be saving the team. Also they are most of the time shirtless.

@PigMainClaudette @pwncxkes Added both

Black jacket Tapps are immersed Gen Jockeys.
6 -
Added - also something else I noticed with Tapps is their love of Tenacity + Unbreakable that I usually don't bother leaving him on the ground

Aren't Nancy players known to be a bit bad
2 -
Cheryl players just want others to understand what she actually went through in SH3 😔.
2 -
Errr..ummm... Where's Jake?
He's one of the OG survivors, you can't leave him out.
3 -
I am 1000000% a meghead in game and irl. Fast, but at what cost?
2 -
Ash - the class clown. Full of pithy quips but plays kinda goofy, like you're not sure whether he's just bad at the game or more focused on memeing than survival. You loved him in those movies, but here you kind of wish he would just shut up already.

Nancy - the more terrified version of Claudette. Likes to play stealthy and immersed, but finds it a lot harder to pull off then Claudette because you usually find her wearing a bright white shirt. Has a bad habit of hiding in lockers and hyperventilating whenever the killer gets close.

I agree with this post right here.

Must've deleted him by mistake when editing the post - replaced him back. Sorry to all the jake mains out there

I see Yuis go for bodyblocks all the time during carry but they never run breakout even though it's one of Yui's perks.

I use to run Claudette pretty much all the time for her magic camouflage powers, but these days I switch around alot more, but main Yui. Not sure what the Yui stereotype would be. I personally play her more less passively than I played Claudette, going for unhooks more often, less afraid to be chased.

No stereotype of Zarina players but good God, is she whiny when hurt/hooked
0 -
can confirm; there's a reason I use IW on her.
1 -
Aces are absolute chads and will open every single chest in the map - thats the priority
2 -
I've seen this behavior across lots of survivors to be honest - they brought an item into the trial and could be doing anything at all but will gravitate to a loot box 99% of the time anyway.
@ringwinning @Player35 I actually had an idea for Zarina or Yui going for super idealistic altruistic plays like rushing a killer picking someone up or a survivor just as he goes down... even if it dooms the rest of the team. "If only the rest of the team drank the Kool-aid like we did then we would've been saved together."

I lol'd at my main man Quentin a few times. I think it is accurate. I don't know how I feel about that.
0 -
Lol - I literally have seen a very small handful of Quentins in thousands of games on both sides.
Added Zarina and Yui - just Cheryl and Felix left

How dare you insult Steve. If you own the Scoops Ahoy outfit, its an entirely different stereotype.
And you should add that all Myers mains fear Laurie
2 -
That's terrifyingly accurate actually.

Claudette = Tunnel Mori

Your description of Steve players is close but not quite right.
You know that friend you have? The one that is super helpful? But you know better than to have them help because if they help you dry the dishes the nuclear power plant nearby will go into meltdown and kill everyone?
That's a Steve player.
Yes, they are super helpful, but it comes at the cost like a monkey's paw where hell itself will rain down upon you like a curse to compensate for the good karma they bestowed upon you.

In my 700 hours of playing, I think there are TWO types of Ace players. There are the ones you described, but I just as often (if not more) see Ace's as the people that just try to have fun by doing extremely stupid plays. They are the people more likely to barrel tech and try to confuse you by going into you when you hit them and then leaving. They are either sweat lords or total goofs, and it all depends on if they brought a flashlight that game.
However, this could be just me. If I had to guess from the top of my head, I'd say I've seen your Ace player to my Ace player 53%/47%, however that is an extremely bad statistic.

I'd get rid of the Autistic comment

Don't call me out like that, man 🤫
0 -
so is there no Cheryl stereotypes?
0 -
She has some interesting personality happening behind those eyes, the way she looks right at you in the lobby... almost makes you wonder exactly what she’s thinking 🤔
0 -
so her stereotype is that she's mysterious

Felix Richter: In my experience, pro Felixes are extremely rare, and not just because of the fact that he's new. His gen-finding perk is built for new players who don't know where the lights should be, and his other perks are extremely general.
Cheryl Mason: Good Cheryls are like what Claudette was actually supposed to be, they play like David but more stealthy and focused on healing. Bad Cheryls read the perk descriptions once and think they know what they should be doing, leaving the obsession immediately after healing them, blocking a gen that the killer is close to, and relying on soul guard for pretty much everything it can be used for.
Elodie: I don't know, she just released.

I can't tell if this is coincidence, piggybacking, or just simply showing me up, but I just made 2 posts about stereotypes just a little bit ago.

Jake Players I notice are really discreet and generally work on gens a lot and prefer hiding while moving over looping (although they're still pretty good at that), and are generally willing to save others only if they are sure if the killer is not nearby (they guess wrong sometimes though). The exception to this though, are cowboy and hell legion Jakes who are much more altruistic and comfortable while injured (you better believe they brought resilience) and both are considerably better at looping, although cowboys tend to be the smartest Jakes over all. Note: I am a Jake Main when survivor, but I play killer a lot more often, and decided to focus on the Jakes I've personally seen as both killers and survivor. For myself though, I'm very altruistic if no one else is rescuing since I also play as Bill and David, and try to plan my moves carefully, I also love working on gens but never work on them without an escape plan beforehand.

Tell that to Visionary on the game 😎
Also hi I'm a pro-Felix, well at least I like to think so
Imo (from common experience)
Felix - Thinks they are better than they are and go for much riskier plays than they should, often getting themselves killed.
0 -
So if I play Ash and Felix 50/50 what does that make me?
0 -
Agree with this response for Cheryl. I main her and have also played with a lot of Cheryls. Cheryls are mostly very competent players who will do anything needed of them, but most seem to do it for selfish reasons i.e. points, stacks, etc. Mostly focus on altruism, don’t really go out of their way to engage the killer but can hold their own when the killer finds them (most times lol)
1 -
Ngl as a Cheryl main I have to say that's pretty spot on, this matches other Cheryl's I meet for sure and I'm pretty sure matches me. I'll only go for altruism if the person is nearby otherwise I'll stick to my gen. I wont trek more than 20 seconds to take a hit if I'm not running mom or wglf. Looking at it I play for to help others for selfish reasons, though I guess that how the survivors probably would be in the trials anyway!

For my two mains Jane and Quentin these are my experience with the two
Jane: A decent players but usually makes a bad mistake that ruins the match. Unorthodox perk builds and always has self care
Quentin: Complete wild card. Once one is in your match they will either carry you or get destroyed in 2 minutes. Usually run meta perks or his teachables.
P3 Quentin: These guys are #########. I don’t know why they are so different to our regular Quins but the always run meta, are probably in a 4 stack and will teabag the exit gate.

p3 Quentin main here. Never BM anyone and my perks consist of iron will, spine chill, kindred and dead hard. Also only play solo
0 -
Then you’re a rare breed

As a Jane main myself I do agree with that we can bodyblock, and I do love lockers and bring Inner Strength in all of my matches
