I'm having difficulty deciding on a killer to main.
I've played Dead by Daylight on and off for a while, and I've always cycled through different killers as time went on. I want to find one killer to main, but there are so many killers I really enjoy playing. The killers I enjoy playing are the Shape, Doctor, Legion, Ghost Face, Deathslinger, Executioner, and Blight. Does anybody have tips on how to choose between all of these killers?

You could go a route like I did and have a dedicated roster of Killers you "main".
If you want to one-trick I suggest picking a killer with a high skill ceiling since it might get pretty boring pretty fast otherwise.
This would eliminate Shape and Legion from your options for example. Don´t get me wrong I love Myers but he is just...very basic.

Just don't main one... I have hundreds of games on each killer and while this definitely makes me worse on harder to master killers with loftier skill ceilings (Like Crossmap Hatchet Huntress running BItter Murmur) it's still a good time to mix it up and play all the different powers.
I regularly cycle through every killer sometimes playing a batch of games on one killer depending on my mood (Usually Freddy, Clown, Cannibal and Legion don't make it more than 1 match though). Also some killers make a lot of archives a breeze - helps to be versatile imo
It's like playing the Random race in Starcraft - takes more work but rewarding in it's own way.
Now if you want to watch a more articulate man talk about this topic... Here is Otz

No, play nurse. 😏

Pick two to main, and however many to pocket. I'd suggest picking one with a high skill ceiling and lower style skill ceiling. For me that would Ghost Face and Pyramid Head, but thats just me, pick who vibes with you the most.

Only advice I can offer is go for the more simplistic Killers (Wraith, Deathslinger, Leatherface) There are arguments against them, but I like how their powers are simple to understand and utilize personally

I like your approach, but I want to ask you : Which one in your example do you consider low- and which one high skill ceiling? :D

Pyramid Head is the high skill ceiling and Ghost Face is the lower skill ceiling. Sorry, I should have been clearer.

Na it´s fine^^ And darn, my bet would have been the other way around tbh :D

The killer doesn’t matter. All that matters is that you run Fire Up. Ez wins

pick 2 or 3 to rotate

My recommendation.
If you really want mastery of the game no other character will allow you to decide things like she will. Of course that's if you manage to go 5 seconds without hitting a bug.

Execution is dead now and deathslinger will be getting gutted next.
Ghostface is way stronger than myers.
legion is junk
doctor and blight ok I guess
You’ll want a strong killer for when you deal with the toxic multi-thousand hour swf. Out of those killers you listed I’d narrow it down to Ghostface, Doctor or Blight. Doctor is very latency dependent though.

Nurse, Spirit, and Billy(and Bubs for BBQ n Chili) LOL

I would main doctor out of all of those killers. Reliable anti-loop even with pallets down. (if you use it correctly) and you can find survivors whenever you want. No mobility but again finding survivors easily compensates for that. Very well rounded killer.
PH is getting changed so generally I wouldn't commit to maining him until y'know what he's going to be like. He may be stronger if he can just spam now more but we'll see.

GF has no anti-loop (no red light don't count), no mobility and his power can be revealed and has a cooldown. I agree with the other two though.

Don't main anyone. Mains are awful people and highly biased. Work on P3'ing everyone gradually. That's what I've been doing and the variety keeps me engaged.

I think ghostface has a higher skill cap, because of all the crazy stalking angles he has, and how he has to set up a good place to stalk.
2 -
So, playing a killer more than other killers makes you awful and highly biased? Damn.
2 -
Thats understandable, I just personally find that hitting shots and time management with PH gives them a higher skill ceiling than GF.

Yup. Just like all those awful Dwight or Nea mains. Maining someone just unlocks something primal inside. Tribal and aggressive. Soon, individual thought disappears into the ether and you find yourself saying things like "Camping is a legit strategy".

All survivors are the same, what is wrong with maining one of them? I am quite a humourless dimwit, so I don't know if this is sarcasm or not, please tell me if it is.

I disagree. GFs lack of a red stain is incredibly useful for mind games. As well as crouching, as it lets you gain distance before the survivor spots you. If you've got a good enough angle you can also snag a cheeky stalk off. Better than Myers I'm not sure, but he certainly has anti loop.

Ghostface doesn't have antiloop, because he ends chases before they even begin.

I have lots of bones so I'm a very humerus guy. Hex: Human and not a potato.
But seriously sticking to one killer is so seriously limiting. Variety is the spice of life.
And by bias I mean they apply their aspects to whatever other killer they may play. You need to mod certain killers very differently by playstyle. Working around their limitations and even using different perk combinations than a single meta catchall that's supposed in work in every situation can't possibly equate to.
I don't need BBQ on Doctor for example as finding survivors is easy and can be disabled from afar while Clown may have more urgent use of it to immediately find his next target.

I will only tell you whom I play and why...
Pig: My main, she versatile... using her power right can stall the game for the win (but needs the right build to be consistent)
Spirit: My 1st backup, she's strong and has more variant on her power
Hag: My 2nd Backup, Her power is controlling an area and high snowball potential
Huntress: My 3rd Backup, When I feel confident or just want something different.
My builds for these killers are the same with a few backup perks
Sloppy or STBFL/ CI/ BBQ/ Whispers, Stridor, Bloodhound

I'd say it applies after this next update to PH, where it'll definitely require a bit of thought into using his power at pallets and windows. I'm actually really looking forward to playing as and against him now, these new changes might be enough to make me learn him.
