Could the new Technician buff become the new meta?
With this change coming, it could reward some great synergy with Prove Thyself (if you're in a swf).
Do you think this will shift the survivor meta? Keep the chat respectful please.

How would it synergise well with prove thyself?

If a 4 man swf were to run Technician and Prove Thyself, it could possibly allow them to win the game faster.

A team like that are unlikely to regularly miss skill checks.
This Technician change is only really going to be handy for new players, or versing Doc, or anybody running Unnerving Presence or/and Huntress Lullaby.

How can technician get into the meta when the perk you need to beat is iron will, DS, UB, adrenaline, BT, DH, SB, etc... all those perk are far stronger and i know i forgot some stronger perk.

I don't see Technician winning the game faster in my opinion it doesn't enhance prove thyself by speed. it's going to be a nice buff towards the newer players of the game or players who wish to use it that struggle with the skill checks. In certain situations where you have it, It's nice to not let the killer know you're there working on the generator. But if the killer is smart or more aware of the generators and patrols well around even with BBQ or discordance (while stacked) they can just come over knowing someone was there due to the progress.
At the end of the day it's a nice change.

The Meta for Killers is Tinker + Undying + Ruin. No matter how quiet the Gen is, Tinkerer will always proc when 70% of the progression is done.
Better Together has better synergy with Prove Thyself as it reveals the aura of the Gen to every survivor nearby.

I think for new and newish players it’ll be fantastic. I never watched streams on dbd for the first year I played. When I first started I loved technician <3

How?

This specific buff will never make technician meta. The current meta is to not fail skill checks in the first place.

Does it counter Surge?

My question is here is if Technician is going to keep the sound reduction.
I use Surveillance a lot and that sound buff is insidiously effective. That reason alone is enough for me to want to use it.

That’s a very interesting and valid question actually.
I guess the same can be asked about overcharge?

I think it'll become more popular for sure. But meta? No. I'll definitely give it a shot to see how I like it.
It might be taboo to admit, but even as someone with multiple thousands of hours in this game, I still regularly miss skill checks because I'm not paying attention. And there's always that obnoxious skill check that hits AFTER you have already stopped repairing.

not going to be meta it for new player older player with just hit skill checks easy. it don't boost anything.

Surge is done by the killer, so don't know why it would do anything at all.
For Overcharge the difficult skill check will be most likely triggered, but missing it won't cause an explosion. Keep in mind that it will regress more harshly on the miss due to technician in combination with overcharge.
Technician is clearly just a teaching perk that replaces the explosion giving away your position to a negative on making it take longer when missing skill checks. It seems like purely something that will help stealthier play, newer players that don't want to attract the attention of the killer even if it means it might take a little longer.

Or for drunk and high players...not that I am one of them...but you know. Technician was somewhat great just because old Ruin forced you to go for those great skill checks all the time. I always felt it should be a 100% explosion prevention perk.
The sound benefit was negligible unfortunately - against Surveillance it might be somewhat more potent, but otherwise that part was often useless. PainReliever made a youtube vid demonstrating this.

No one used it before. No one will use it after. Buffing a Perk to make it still bad doesn't mean people will start using it just because. It has to replace one of their other four perks that they already use... none of which are Technician & I don't see that changing anytime soon.
I'm not sure the exact number of Survivor Perks there are in the game right now but only about a dozen of them see any real use. And Technician isn't in the top 20.

If the Killer meta is suddenly Impossible Skill check Doctor then maybe.
0 -
Neither Technician or Prove Thyself increases skillcheck chances, and most people don't really miss a lot of skillchecks. That means that no-one is getting bonus gen progress from those two perks that they wouldn't have had from just Prove Thyself.

Absolutely not.
