couldn't we be able to do something against facecampers?
Hi, my player account is DcForTheWin, it's been a while that I have been playing and more than ever, now that cross-platform is activated, I see plenty of new cases of facecamping and it really ruins the fun out of this game.. and you really need to have a specific build to be able to counter those toxic killers, something that almost never happens... wouldn't there be anything more we could do against them? I feel like report for unsportsmanlike isn't even doing anything..

Theres an easy solution to face campers. If your standing right next to the hook the sacrifice timer won't progress. that would be my solution.
5 -
No, it doesnt? There is a perk for that, camaraderie I think, but it's only for 10 seconds..
0 -
Uuhhh... that's really unfortunate :(
1 -
If they try saving the poor bastard, it's almost a guaranteed loss if they don't immediately hammer gens.
Sad to say it, but camping/tunneling is rewarding.
One solution is playing killer yourself and not adding to the problem, but killer has their own woes.
3 -
I do play killer, but... whatever...
0 -
We should make camaraderie base-kit, with adjustments for it to be a anti-camp perk
3 -
This has been tried before and it was HEAVILY abused.
6 -
That would be amazing bro, cuz right now, there is almost nothing to do
1 -
You can do something. Do gens and get out.
The Killer will get at most 2 people and he is almost guaranteed to de-pip, which means eventually, you will not have to play against him.
2 -
If killer is face-camping in any stage of the game outside of endgame, rush gens and leave the unfortunate victim to die.
1 -
If we get rid of camp. How can I get rid OoO players by camping as Trapper?
I dont like to camp, but often I use Rancor just to give special treatment to OoO
0 -
Hey, you understand the game better than most then.
0 -
If it has been tried and doesn't work that's cool I'm curious as to how it worked and how it was abused?
0 -
The hook timer paused while the Killer was in a certain radius of the hooked Survivor, so naturally, it was abused, one Survivor loops near hook while the others do gens. Prevents the other person from ever going into Struggle or Dying and there wasn't anything the Killer could do.
This was about two-ish years ago I think.
6 -
Interesting. I don't remember it but yeah that's pure BS at least it was tried and found to not work as intended
2 -
Yes, this is why we cannot have built in anti-camping. It will be abused.
If someone is getting facecamped, just do gens and escape. The Killer will de-pip.
2 -
I miss getting all my struggle points if I was put on the hook before the previous person dies. I understand why it was changed but I considered it a punishment for a killer that rushes a game. not that big a deal just a comment
0 -
It works very differently, albeit rather.. weakly
The perk activates Only when YOU, on the hook, get approached by another survivor; when within the 16 meter range (I think that's the range), your hook timer is Paused for Up to 36 seconds or something like that.
I don't.. understand the process, but I've been in situations where it Could have helped but really... It could use a rework in my opinion

Basement Bubba with Insidious. The worst crime on humanity this game has produced. I played this once but it's litteraly killing your braincells.
I have less issues with campers as with survivors who have full health but don't even try and with survivors who trigger and loop the killer right in front of the hook. Litterally encouraging him to stay there instead of beeing stealthy for once or at least have the decency to lure him away.
Also i have a talent to die when the game is already over and the gates are open. I have tryed everything but it's always the same. I manage to hide and do gens etc. the entire match but as soon as the exit gates are open i get spottet and die on first hook.

Get slapped by noed then
2 -
Run Kindred. It's should be a signal for your teammates to do gens. You will probably die, but other 3 survivors get out easily if they not stupid to try to save you. You can be saved with Borrowed time but Killer just get another survivor in exchange and keep facecamping. Or he may try to tunnel you. Both scenarios are not good for your team.
If he played normally and facecamp only after gens done you can't really blame him. He doesn't need to check gens anymore and checking gates while everyone healthy without noed is a losing guaranteed 1k.
Anyway facecamper is a rare type of killer because he always lose and stay on low ranks.
0 -
Clearly you haven't played much at rank 1 if you think facecamping killers only stay at low ranks lmao.
2 -
Shrug.
As long as we first get rid of:
- Red rank survivors queueing with a deranked/smurf account buddy to ensure they can stomp a lowbie killer.
- Teabagging and flashspam.
- Survivors being able to change character/item just before match starts to stop a killer from countering them.
- Keys.
- Instaheals.
- Offensive DS play.
- Haddonfield.
- Spinechill working on undetectable killers.
- OoO in SWF groups.
Then we can talk about facecamping.
Maybe.
1 -
I'm playing on red ranks and I don't see facecampers at all. I see them patroling or coming back to hook, but this is not a facecamping.
0 -
Whataboutism isn't in any way helpful, tbh. No reason why most of those can't be looked at.
I will say, though, the only instaheals that exist in this game iare For the People and Adrenaline, both of which are earned. Teabagging and flashlight spamming don't make the game unplayable, either. They're just toxic. And honestly, Spine Chill is fine where it is. The rest, though, definitely issues. Let's also add Moris to the list, though. :)
5 -
It's not whataboutism. It's a matter of priorities. Rather than working on something as subjective and nebulous as 'facecamping' - there are so many other issues that could be worked on.
This right here is the toxic little loop that exists right now where essentially, killers are always expected to pay the price for the fun of survivors.
- Spinechill is absolutely insane against any sort of stealth killer, especially in SWF groups.
- Instaheals are still very unfun to play against. Much as, I'm sure, facecamping is.
- Facecamping doesn't make the game unplayable. Not every survivor gets to escape, nor should they. And if I've been hit by my third smurfcomp in a row who are evidently trolling or being obnoxious, damn straight I'm camping one until they die. Ideally the most toxic.
3 -
Both roles are expected to pay the price for the fun of the other role, and it's an endless cycle that leads to toxicity on both ends. And yes, it is whataboutism. Just because there are OTHER problems, that doesn't mean that the topic of the OP isn't on in itself. It certainly is an issue that is a barrier for newer players, and makes for boring/unfun matches at high level, too.
2 -
As he's facecamping? Unlikely.
1 -
If you suspect spine chill, just look away from the gen while approaching. Not a problem for a stealth killer. If he notice you anyway, that means he would notice you even without spine chill. But spine chill users often rely on their perk more than looking around so this counterplay may help.
0 -
I will never get the mentality of someone who face camps. It's just boring and desperate.
If I want kills, I'll play Hag - the one S Tier killer I've gotten good at and run my try hard perks and add-ons. Rarely will I have a bad game. If I still have a bad game, I just slot a Mori to feel better about myself.
I'm leveling Bubba up ATM - he's fun as hell, just after getting Rank 6 as Hag while leveling her up, I feel like an autistic kid at a fireworks festival trying to make anything happen as Bubba against Rank 1-2 survivors. But who cares. It's a game. You lose, you lose. You don't gotta hook one survivor and sit their sulking until he's sacced.
0 -
When those other problems are concrete issues that are both more oppressive and unfun than 'facecamping' is (especially when it's hard for people to even agree on exactly what that would mean) then - no, it's not whataboutism.
I've been accused of 'facecamping' for:
- Patrolling past a hooked person on may way checking gens.
- Defending a generator near a hook.
- Following someone to a hook.
- An unhooked person running directly into me and me not letting them go.
- Me not letting survivors heal a slugged person.
Beyond this - why are killers feeling the need to facecamp? Is it just people being toxic, or is it killers getting frustrated with the blatant double standards BHVR are using to balance their game at present?
Until BHVR reimplements killer matchmaking and the old SWF anti smurf protections - damn straight. Someone is going to die that game even if I have to facecamp them. So, so sick of getting rolled over by 2-3 red/purple ranked survivors queueing with a deliberately deranked buddy to roll lowbie killers like me and then mock me after.
2 -
This works until it doesn't. On more open maps, this just means that someone sees you coming, they scatter and you don't see where they go.
Why not just not let it work against undetectable killers? None of these are even close to top tier as it is.
0 -
Yeah, right, you can't really be sneaky on open maps. But on open maps you can't be sneaky no matter if survivor has spine chill or not.
You still can look away while coming to gen if gen behind wall, fence, tall obstacles. Even when you sneak up to 8 meters closer to survivor, it means you pretty much successfully countered spine chill. Survivor got less time to react and it's good even if you not grab him from gen.
2 -
Yes, I absolutely can. On Wraith or even Pig, I can make things happen. However, if I have to look away from the gen while doing so, it's basically pointless.
Like, I get it. You enjoy using Spinechill. But it really does make stealth killers a whole lot more useless than they already were.
0 -
all you can do is blitz gens but in this instance I would encourage camping the generally safe point in the exit area and tbagging if given the chance. Mind blood warden and Deathslinger but most importantly don't feed the trolls.
1 -
It takes 120 seconds to fully die on hook, that's enough time for the 3 other players to do one gen each, and then do a 2-1 split and probably get a 4th done as he's hooking a second person. If he continues to face camp, it's an easy escape for the remaining 2, assuming he's not facecamping because he sucks and you completed gens prior to the first facecamp.
Killers will depip every single time they do this, so good survivors will quickly outrank them.

I feel like they should increase the hook timer to 90 sec per phase instead of the what feels shorter 60 sec phases. It would punish campers harder and give the hooked survivor a chance in the end (maybe).
0 -
Then they would have to increase generator repair times to 120 seconds, which nobody wants.
0 -
Me and my pals just slam gens, we get facecampers 9/10 games a night so we are used to it.
If you can get a solid swf that use Camaraderie and can loop the Killer for 2 gens you can just do the 3 remaining gens, walk 16 meters to the hooked teammate, make the killer wait the 30+ bonus seconds and then teabag at the gate because you just escaped in under 5 minutes.
You make no BP and your friend who got camped gets really salty.

At the beginning (almost always) the killer sees me, he hunts me, the others he don't care. Is this normal ? You will understand
When I'm on the ground he hooks me and waits, if someone unhooks me he hits me and nods up and down... Sometimes he moves back and forth on my character, and sometimes even worse he cooperates with the second last survivor to find me.. I am totally blocked, depending on the other survivor who often denounces me.. sometimes he block the hatch, and sometimes he tunnel and camp me but he leaves all others get out volontarily...
When the killer knows where I am he chases me, puts me down and nods his head for long minutes before putting me on the hook. Do you think this happens to me 1/10 of time ? You're wrong, this happens to me almost every day with totally different killers ! One day, I was a little annoyed I asked why, he answered me insanities on the female gender..🙄 (Congratulations again to him!)
What should I say or think ? I don't tbag, I save all survivors, I make the gens and maybe loop yes but it's the game... Sometimes I wonder if playing killer is not better, because at least we don't know your identity until the end of the game.. no tunnel, no camp, little fun !
As a survivor I am always afraid of this situation which happens to me far too often TUNNEL, CAMP, SLUG (i think it's the terme)...

It may not seem helpful to you - but there is a difference between "whataboutism" and "fairness". This is about fairness. You're asking for a solution to something that really isn't a big issue. People get get once or twice, and say it happens constantly. Other people say they get camped and have no idea what it means. Like tunneling.
0 -
I'm actually not personally asking for it, but this is 100% a case of whataboutism, and it's not helpful whatsoever.
There are already countless threads about the other topics in which devs have even responded and stated they're looking into most of them. People are allowed to ask for solutions to things they also feel are a big issue without being told 'what about this?'
2 -
Fun fact, the devs also said "they would look into it" about iri head huntress among other things a few YEARS back. So good luck with that statement from them.
0 -
I remember a dev explicitly saying on their stream that the next patch that add-on was doneso, so I suspect there was an actual reason for the change not going through, whatever that was going to be.
0 -
Maybe but given their track record in terms of resolving speed they normally take half a year plus. In respect to the amount of bad stuff that is still in the game, this means they will probably take another 4 years to get it all out IF they don't keep introducing new problems themselves.
1 -
You can do something already: get over it and move on with the next game...
The more people complain about it, the more killers will do it because they know it winds people up. Just like pathetic survivors with their teabagging.
Toxic survivors only have themselves to blame for killers acting this way.
0 -
They pip because high rank survivors don't play around facecamping properly
1 -
Yes, because they don't want to. They don't like that one person has to just sit on the hook for 2 minutes and they have to do all the gens, and 5 totems to avoid the inevitable noed during this time. Can't really fault them for avoiding doing the boring play; I've literally depipped off surviving because a killer was facecamping someone multiple times. It ain't fun and it ain't fair. It definitely isn't the main thing that needs to be dealt with at high level, however, but is a barrier to new players. Which the devs certainly seem to care about.
2 -
Do gens if he's camping 3 people can just do gens for free
