Down With Skins!
I really wish that each Survivor had a unique ability. I would say choose one of their three base Perks, i.e. the most niche one, and eliminate it from the Perk list. We have too many already. That way they each have a little flavor. A Claudette, for example, would be the ONLY one with Botany Knowledge. Pretty much all of the Survivors have at least one Perk that nobody takes unless forced to by a Daily Ritual or Rift. Why not just make it part of that Survivor package so there is something unique about them?

Not gonna happen, the game is too old for stuff like that. How would you even identify the most niche Perk? What about Survivors who have decent Perks overall? Like Claudette or Meg. So if you want to play Head On with Q&Q, you would be forced to play Meg?
If you like Autodidact, you can only play Adam? Whats the Niche-Perk of Steve, given all of his Perks are bad?
Just as examples.

I am not in favour of this idea.

We can agree to disagree. I'm just not a fan of Survivors being nothing but Skins while Killers are each unique. I do know there are Perks that rarely get used. I just think I would identify them by that, i.e. the least used Perk simply gives them some personality. Do I think this is a MUST for the game? No. Do I think it would be nice? Yes. Hell, even if it wasn't Perk related, I'd love to see something different about them beyond cosmetic.

Or you can do like me :
- have a main survivor = playing the perks i want
- when playing the other survivor i play all of their specific perks + 1 that combo well (ex : Ace + plunderer / Claudette + We'll make it / Nancy + Small Game / Meg + Spine Chill / etc

On the flipside, Survivors being basically just skins allows to run every build you want on any survivor. Neat, isn´t it? At least in my opinion.

What if they pulled a reversal?
Trapper downs you and you're waiting to be picked up when suddenly he fits a trap around your head. That's when you notice all the extra machines lying around the level.
Uh ohhhhhhhh.

If that is how you want it to be, there is nothing to stop you enforcing that upon yourself.
I personally don't think it would be a good thing.

If they did it from the start fine.
But you can't take everyone's progress they've made where most people only invest into one survivor and then go "oops, we gave your one a ######### passive, now redo the grind because we gave Meg and Claudette top meta passives!"
It would also mean you'd only ever see the survivor with the best passive. Sure you'd get a few people who like their main enough to put themselves at a disadvantage, but it'd be about the same numbers as people who don't run second chance perks, which is like finding a unicorn.

Fair point, I suppose it is too late to do the Perk suggestion. But I still wish that there was some kind of slight difference even if it was just a 3% difference in speed between a Meg and the old wheezing smoker Bill. :)

Ok so now you're 103%. With Hope a 110% killer now cannot catch up to you in the end game.
Your chases against 115% killers should theoretically be 20% longer.
Even small bonuses would make huge impacts on the game.

Oh hell no 😤
Super thankful that this will NEVER happen to the game. I'm 100% not interested in being forced to play an ugly character just cause I like their perk. I like Borrowed Time but Bill is hideous compared to Feng and Laurie. BHVR will never do this because cosmetic sales would sharply drop off, too
Being able to play any survivor perk on any survivor is one of the best parts of the game imo and I'd be DISTURBEDDDDDD if it ever changed LOL

Me too. When I started playing and learned the perks were teachable to everyone else I went "well then what's the point of them?"

Well you guys have convinced me that my suggestion is unworkable, but that doesn't mean I still wouldn't like something MORE than Skins. It just doesn't feel immersive or particularly make me attached to the Survivors. Cosmetics don't do that for me either. But if I'm in the minority, I'm in the minority. I'd like to think there was a way to vary these Survivors at least enough to give them personality, but if there isn't... I will probably always be slightly more a Killer main.

The ability to put pallets back up should be base kit... It's kinda ridiculous that it isn't.
It'll be rarely used anyway. Most of the time strong pallets will just be broken on the spot. Even if it isn't, putting the pallet back requires a survivor to waste time heading there before the killer does.

I love this idea!!
I would like ,just something, that makes playing each survivor different.
It would add something to gameplay, and the killer would know what ability each survivor had, perhaps indicating a style of play of those that pick said character.
None of the OP stuff, but like you said, botany on claudette, tenacity on Tapp..wtc

This is what I do when i play Survivor, it adds a bit to the immersion for me
