Clown counters DS?
So when I'm playing Clown and there is a chance the downed survivor will still have DS, I throw a bottle on the survivor right before picking him up. Now does that gas make it harder to see and land that skill check? And if not at least when I get stunned I hear that scream right after meaning the survivor gets slowed down right after DSing me.
Playing against Clown since I mostly play survivor I never see any other Clown killer do this? Should not this be something Clown players do more often?

I do this plus equip solvent jug and you'll have yourself a fun time.

I hope you do this to me sometime I really want to see if that gas makes the skill check harder also 😀 The Solvent Jug is an amazing addon for being a yellow one and it must be really good against DS also.

Another good one is laying a torment trail below you as pyramid. Granted, they'll have used DS by this point so the cage is less important.

Freddy putting down a snare is like the clown but better because the snare lasts even longer and you don't have to reload, although clown does have him beat for additional penalties with addons

I don't think it's effective because the DS stun is 5 seconds. Even if the survivor is slowed by 15-20%. 5 seconds gives too much distance. Also for some reason, gas cannot go through windows, so if a survivor vaults a window, they can quickly escape the gas.

The slowdown is so minor compared to the stun time that it barely shaves of distance the survivor makes when using their DS.

It's not a fullproof counter in most cases but if you're planning to eat the DS anyway I don't see why you would't do it. Slugging to avoid it to keep momentum is better in most cases even if they have unbreakable but there are times early in the match where just eating the DS is perfectly fine depending on where they are and where their teammates are.

This is it done about as well as possible during a game I saw. With them in a corner; and the clown turning to drop them into the corner during the DS animation. He would have made it to 2 safe pallets, but someone already threw them.
Not a counter at all but it will give you back a second or two.

It would be better to just save the bottle for the following chases if you want to eat the DS.
Even if you use the best addons,the survivor will get like 1m less distance.Not worth it.

I think it's still worth it to do it. I do it every single time I am going to eat a DS or potentially could be eating a DS. The raw numbers, with some assumptions, is this:
Survivors go at 4m/s, in 5 seconds they go 20m. With ether 15% + bleach (shown in that clip), in theory it would be 3.2m/s * 3 seconds + 4 m/s * 2 seconds for a total distance of 17.6m. But since he lands in the center of the cloud it's probably closer to the entire 5 seconds he is moving at 3.2m/s. Which would take it 16m or cutting off 20% of the distance they would gain on you with 1 easy to land bottle.
