The hatch is op, closing it is not.
the killer find it first, THEY DESERVE THE WIN! if the surivor finds it, THEY deserve the win, if the killer close the hatch just give a repair buff of 200% to the survivor and if they repair 1 gen both doors and the hatch open, you get out for free now, adrenaline triggers, noed doesn't.
when the killer killed 3 surivors and they have to camp the hatch, they are taken hostage by the game, and killers should ALWAYS be the one winning if they are at the hatch in same time, grab them directly or anything, killer is here first or if they are here in same time, killer wins anyway, it is a last resort for the survivor to win, not a free escape if they are there in same time, killer should always win if they find the hatch first, and survivors have to repair a gen to escape, 200% speed is really good and it will barely take 30 seconds to repair a gen, if it isn't repaired already. let us close the hatch, this is getting ridiculous that killers doesn't get their fourth kill because of the broken mechanics of the hatch.

Break the stalemate by having to open it. Everything can stay the same until end game rework, just have last survivor able to open without a key. You find it first no issues. Again just a simple tweak until the Dev's give us what they have planned.0
-
That makes sense or do both if the killer shuts it they have to check gens depending how close they are that's like 30-60 seconds for them all enough time to open a hatch at like 40 seconds if lucky0

the killer find it first, THEY DESERVE THE WIN!No, they don't. Killers are not entitled to be rewarded for finding survivor objectives. And you act as if Killers lose if a survivor finds the hatch. They do not lose. Kills aren't miraculously reverted. A 3k doesn't turn into a loss, and getting a kill on the last survivor doesn't make it a win.
Your whole post hinges on the idea that killers deserve something for finding a hatch, as if the hatch was a killer objective. Let's make this clear. It is not. The hatch standoff is ass, but so is the idea of "last one to the hatch is a rotten egg".
The hatch is the necessary counterbalance for two features: (1) survivors killed are permanently removed from the game, and (2) survivors have significantly less chances of winning with fewer teammates. It should not be pointless for a survivor to try to survivor alone. I do not think the hatch should open so easily, but I also do not think the killer should interact with the hatch.
15 -
Killers can close the hatch when they remove grabbing survivors mid-jump.1
-
If you find the hatch, frikking stand on it. It's closed, essentially.
The Hatch is usually in a one person wide area. Move forward, hit them, step back. Or just stand on it, and hit them. I watched the killer block it that way several times.

The killer should be able to escape by using the hatch!12

Keep the hatch and let it spawn closed. Survivors need to bring a key to open it or find one during the match.
If 3 survivors are dead, let a key spawn in a chest. If all chests have been looted, reset a random chest.
This would make keys more valuable, maps more valuable (mark position of chests and hatch once found) and coin offerings more valuable.6 -

Just having the power to close the hatch would solve all stalemates ever. First one to find it wins.

theentitylefthand doesn't need a hatch rework :omegalul:

I prefer to think of him as well fed due to too many helpings of survivor pudding.

Survivor has the choice to search the key and the hatch (2 steps) or finish the gens.
Killer has the choice to search the hatch, a chest and the gens.
I don´t think there would be any standoffs anymore, since survivors would have to find the hatch after getting the key.0 -

- When a survivor finds the key, can they just hop out of the hatch, they would just stand there with the key, thus creating a hatch stand off.

If the survivor stays in a 24 meter radius around the hatch for 2 minutes, the entity gets angry and turns the hatch into a deathtrap. If the survivor tries to jump trough, he/she would instantly die or get stuck until the killer picks him/her up.1 -

Maybe if the killer stays too close to the hatch the entity creates fake skill check f'ups notifications on unfinished gens to try and trick the killer into thinking they are on one if they stay too close for too long or something?

If you take away the chance to escape through the hatch, the last 1 or 2 survivors of a screwd match will just go to the killer to end the match asap or disconnect.

Standoffs exist only because survivors and killers arrive at the same time at the hatch. Survivor don´t wants to risk getting pulled out of the hatch and the killer doesn´t wants to risk hitting the survivor, so he can have a free escape.
The whole key mechanic would have both searching different objectives. Because the survivor needs to find a chest with a key first (unless he found the key or brought it in). If the killer finds the closed hatch first, he can decide to camp the hatch. Giving the survivor the chance to do gens. If the survivor finds it first, he can just leave. If he doesn´t leave because he wants to teabag in front of the killer. Then the entity would get angry after the 2 minute timer runs out, and turn the hatch into a deathtrap.0 -

Finally a sensible solution. Can the killer wait and grab though? I could see killers not taking the advantage to look for survivors. If that is still the mechanic all it would do is buy the killer more time, extend the game with the same standoff. If they can no longer grab i'm all for this idea.

Where do the devs currently stand on the hatch at the moment? I know they want to have more objectives for survivors to complete but these hatch standoffs are ridiculous. You mean to tell me a killer wielding a weapon cant just shank this survivor stopping the game from ending? Seems really dumb to me.

Survivor has to search the key in a chest, or use one he found earlier. Now the killer has to watch the hatch, chests and gens.
I think the survivor has to work a little bit for that excape. At the same time, the killer can´t just camp the hatch.0 -

Could make it so that, once there's only 1 Survivor left and the Hatch spawned, AFK Crows will start spawning, regardless if they stand still or not.
But they'll start appearing after 2 minutes instead of 1, and will start alerting the Killer visually at 3 minutes instead of 90 seconds.

2 players are required for a hatch standoff. If 1 doesn´t want to play the standoff game, then the other one won´t be able to play it aswell. So yes, the killer can still grab the survivor.

See I like the idea. It offers the killer more time to find his last person and may eliminate the need to slug the next to last person down, but as long as it still can result in a standoff it isn't progress. If the option to grab is taken away it forces the killer to look for the survivor and makes the game more exciting. Some will look for the survivor others will sit and wait.

If you take away the grab, then you have to make the survivor visible to the killer. Otherwise it would be way to easy for survivors.

if survivors have to look for a key after the next to last person dies and also find the hatch before the killer catches them and hooks them. Why does the killer need to see the aura of the last survivor?

Because survivors love to drag the game out. If the killer can´t grab the survivor, i guarantee you, that survivors will stand teabagging on that hatch until they get bored.

That is a ridiculous reason to change everything else but keep that mechanic for fear of some douche bag teabagging. No sense in changing it other than to favor the killer. We still will have a hatch standoff under those conditions.

Reason is to stop survivors from keeping the game hostage.

The whole point of changing the end game for a hatch play would be to eliminate a hatch standoff. If you have a hatch standoff both parties are equally guilty. The killer wants 4k and the survivor wants to escape and get 7k in blood points.

That is a shame because i like your fundamental idea but i'm not in favor of still allowing a hatch grab. I also think the killer should be able to mori the last survivor without an offering or perk needed it should be a base mechanic. if you knock them down and they are the last person, you shouldn't need to hook them.

Maybe the team needs to revisit an old idea.
The killer is welcome to permanently close the hatch... but in doing so both doors open regardless of generator status.0 -
