Desperate Measures opinions

What are your thoughts on Desperate Measures? It seems situational to me, but I feel like if a killer is snowballing pretty well, it can help with a reset very quickly. I've used it in five matches as survivor and gone against it in two matches as killer so far, and I have found that it is most useful when the killer is splitting pressure/slugging in opportune situations.

Man, that juicy 56% extra unhook speed was AMAZING the one time I got to use it. lol

Good Survivors will often unhook someone in the Killers face. They get smacked, while the Killer wipes the blade, they unhook and dead hard to force the Killer to hit the unhooked Survivor with Borrowed.

With Desperate Measures, this strat becomes more viable because you have a bigger reaction window. But you can't do it to early because the Killer then wouldn't even be done with the wipe anination.

I also love combining it with Botany to get very fast heals, and if the Killer has Dying Light while I am the Obsession.... hot damn.

Thanks, everyone! I haven't been as active on DBD as I have been the past two years, so I was trying to figure out what everyone else thought. I definitely noticed the effect during my killer games. I was convinced someone had We'll Make It one game, but it turns out two guys were just double healing with DM. I'll keep trying this out with some different perks.

Its a cool perk but unless you are running a heal build or want to unhook next to killers it's not as useful as other perks.

Extremely good perk. The unhooking speed is godly, with the healing speed being a slight bonus.

Desperate Measures is about the same power level as Botany Knowledge (i.e. generally useful but not game-breakingly good)

It's a good perk that helps you when you most need it. By itself it rarely comes in clutch... But few perks are good just by themselves. Put it with Botany and Self Care and your whole team will love you. The rational ones, at least.

I really like it. For now I just enjoy the heal speed with SC, BK, DM and Resilience. Allows me to heal myself within 16 seconds at some points, doing gens faster, clearing unhooks more safer. And I tend do heal my teammates more often. usually I felt like: nah it takes forever.

And it fits in popular killer builds. (gen/heal slowdown/sluggfest)

I know you can do more interesting builds but atm I enjoy the healspeed.

my current build is BT, bond, botany, and desperate measures.. I already said in another post that perks like sloppy need a buff because the botany/DM combo is so strong.. if you and your team or randoms don’t go down 10 seconds within every chase you will actually have a hard time not reaching rank 1 on pretty much altruism alone.. just my opinion

    It's a very good perk.

    I've been running

    • Self Care
    • Botany
    • Resilience
    • Desperate Measures

With the +33% from Botany, +9% from resilience, and minimum of 14% from Desperate Measures (usually 28%, since if you are safe enough to heal, somebody else is probably being chased) you're basically powering through the Self Care -50% to hit healing at normal speeds, meaning it's virtually impossible for the killer to keep pressure on you via injury.

I like it. Been using some new heal / rescue builds with it.

Build to last is great too ^^

Visionary is whack though. It would've been way better if you could see the progress on gens similar to how buckle up shows you the progress of a survivor in the dying state.

It has become one of my Main Perks.

I run Botany, Desperate, We'll make it for an extreme Heal Build and a 4th Perk of Choice.

Botany Knowledge is better as a standalone perk than DM because it is more consistent. You will rarely have 4 stacks, especially since dead Survivors don't count.

You can pair them together, but I personally dislike dedicating more than 1 slot to healing. Unless you're in an SWF, then it can be powerful.

That I'm trying for Felix, but I'm 50 and still have no Botany and BT. The biggest problem I have, that the most survs running away and don't trust the fast heal. 😥

Maybe with BT it will going better.

Yeah I use it with self care and botany knowledge to get some speedy heals

If you want to be really nasty run a green medkit with a needle. Use the medkit during chase to heal to full, but when your medkit is down to a little bit use the needle. When I'm on my main one of my favorite things to do is heal to full in the killers face, use the sprint burst from the hit to get some distance and use the needle.

Next loop should have you at full health again. (alternatively you can use purple bottle for armor but I've had killers just wait it out.)

I also love this perk. It's nice to have a healing boost that gets stronger the worse you're doing, and the unhook boost has helped me pull off really fun, exciting saves.

I usually point at them or teabag to indicate healing, if they run away however, then they have chosen death. I won't follow them to the other side of the map.
