Hags that put traps on a hook

How do you counter this if you/teammates don't have a flashlight? Crouching doesn't work, as soon as you start unhooking the trap triggers and they just teleport. It's worse than normal facecamping cos they can still apply pressure on gens etc. Is there something that can be done to counter this without flashlight or nah?

Hmmmmm, I just had 2 games where this has happened and it seemed like there was nothing that could be done. I only really play solo so I'm guessing everyone I was unhooking wasn't crouching despite them seeing the killer put the traps down... Fair enough then, guess that's just part of playing solo.

There is also an addon that lets the hag teleport to any trap without it being triggered, but it is a ultra rare I think so you shouldn’t see it as often.

Thanks, just good to know there is something that can be done about it

It reminds me of when trapper could trap in front of hooks. You just kind of hoped the person knew they could disarm while they were in the unhook animation.

Would be nice if it were a tool tip when against the hag.

Not really sure why they don't just restrict Hag from placing traps within activation distance of a hooked survivor (and have pre-placed ones in this vicinity auto-activate and disappear).

Just give her the same treatment as Pyramid Head's Rites of Judgement Trails or Demogorgon's Portals.

On a similar note, at some point they should probably also prevent Trapper/Freddy/Hag from placing traps right underneath Exit Gate switches.

And on loops, and windows and general points of interest

Its not camping if you or your mates trigger the traps. Why shouldnt the hag trap the hooks ? Even if no one triggers it, it slows them down atleast. And the hag does need slowdown.

And ljke i said before, if you or your mates trigger her traps, its your fault.

If I may ask, if ur saying she shouldnt be able to place traps at windows, loops, and general walkways, where the heck is she gonna put those traps then?

it triggered because you were not crouching the whole time or the person you unhooked wasn't holding crouch right away.

you both need to be careful, if one messes up your both in trouble especially if the hag has MYC.

Although correct, my biggest issue with this counter play is Hag is usually heading right back to the hook anyway: she arrives before survivors have managed to get out of range of the traps, making the effort of avoiding setting traps off a complete waste of time, and exactly why I hate Hag so much.

Yeah if the Hag is headed back to the hook it's practically a lose - lose situation.

You couldnt counter the trails, thats why you can put them under the hooks.

Why wouldn't you be able to crouch walk out of them just like the Hag's? Or do you mean that Pyramid Head being a 115% killer with an AoE Ranged attack would prevent you from crouching out in time making it more than a little broken? Which is true if that's what you meant

Either your teammate is screwing up, or you are. Unhook wont set off the trap, and neither will crouch walking.

That's why hag can arguably be the best camper. Similar level as Bubba, just different. Depending on add ons.

If you unhook the survivor you automaticly stand up and would get tormented without a counter.

Survivors always seem to lose a few braincells after being hooked by The Hag. Nearly every time, someone decides to just start running. Never underestimate stupidity.

“Btw, if you think it's okay for the Hag to trap hooks I also want to put trails with Pyramid under hooks, so I can instantly cage/mori people who are unhooked too.”

Agreed. If PH and Demo have restrictions in regards to hooks, Hag needs to be reviewed and given the same hook restrictions.

Still doesnt help because as soon as you unhook you will get tormended since you arent allowed to even stand on it without crouching.

She is fine. You can counter her by doing the objectives and if you don't 3-gen yourself then you've won the game very easily. You have 4 survivors, not two, so use your brain and crouch while near the hook, take advantage of borrowed time and most importantly.. you got hooked, so the killer doesn't have to play nice and give you a free unhook, if you know they're camping then do the gens. Survivors that do the gens when a killer is camping always will win.

Untrue. Your teammates are trash and keep letting up off of crouch at some point. It works seamlessly if you're holding it down up to the unhook and leaving. Bad Hags drop traps directly on the hook. Good ones block some of the exits and force you to go a certain direction.

Another soft counter to the hook traps is wait until she is in a chase/far away/ carrying someone else, trigger the trap then unhook. It's harder in solo but many of us run Kindred so others can see the killer or be able to see if they're in a chase. I'm a Hag main and will tell you, the easiest way to beat Hag is to pay attention, trigger her traps to force chase, and unhook when she is preoccupied.

The more information you have on a Hag the weaker she becomes. Alert, BT, Urban, Flashlights, maps, and Kindred are all very useful tools against a Hag, some render her a slow m1 killer.

    Don't give yourself a 3 gen then.

90% of the time I usually get a 3 gen Strat it's normally not because I specifically went for it but because the survivors were so eager to pop every generator they come across that they completed all the generators on one side.

In fact I could pretty much only really remember three times I've specifically decided to say the screw the other generators I'm only defending these three.

The scenario you describe is the hag using perfect strategy. You most likely gave her a 3 gen and hooking people within the patrol route of that 3 gen is just the smart thing to do.

    1) Spread out your generators. If you notice the killer is only specifically defending 3 put pressure on one of them the killer cannot be in several places at once.

    2) if they do manage to get a 3 gen whether they worked for it or you gave it to do them. Don't get down within the radius hell run across map instead of a wall if you have to.

Usually a defensive killer will give up on the chase when they feel like you're going too far away from their strat. This is the perfect time for your teammates to start pressuring one or two of the gens

If shes proxy camping too then there’s nothing you can do. Best option is to force the trap and use borrowed time.

If by some miracle you’ve met a Hag who actually goes far from the hook then crouch walk when you get close enough to the hook. Maybe 12m or so.

The number of people that don't know Hag's traps won't be triggered by crouching over them is impressing sometimes.

I admit I didn't know when I started playing, but sometimes it's like "Pal, you are rank 10, you should know this??"

I just had a match where I was crouching to try to unhook a Jane and then a Feng player came in and triggered FOUR TRAPS on my face. We all died, but it was a hilarious moment. It will be my highlight of FENG NO from now on.

Back in topic, as many have pointed out... traps won't be triggered while you are crouching or doing an interaction with anything. You might as well heal on top of one and it won't trigger.

And here we are, crying on the Hag (after Spirit), very happy to have taken the Trapper !

Crouch and unhook, continue to crouch to a safer place...

Ps: For information, the Trapper is more dangerous than the Hag... when you are caught in a trap you have little chance to get out of it, and more chance to end up in the cellar or under a hook surrounded by 3 good traps... any good survivor will never go to unhook you unless you end up on the ground. I enjoyed myself last night! And nerve the Trapper for the exit door = useless. You know why ? Find out about future update, you'll be disgusted survivors ! 🤗

Just say: "let me out", it's simpler you know !

Well, after Spirit, the Hag... Not serious, in the future we will have 90% of Bubba.. even better, continue please !🤣

Sure, if she gets the same movement speed, then the same restrictions might be ok.
