Honest question: Why complain when you're going to forget anyway?
You see, this is what I don't understand in this community and you CAN'T say that this isn't happening.
Remember old Ruin, old Hillbilly and whatever good thing that got reworked or nerfed in the past, and everyone complained about them but now there's no sight of complaints about these things?
Yeah, me neither.
What I'm trying to get at is: You're complaining about the PGTW and Thanatophobia change, even though you're going to forget it after a couple of weeks of its release and continue playing regularly.
What's next? Are you going to tell me that people stopped complaining about these things because "the developers didn't listen?"

One thing is forgetting about something, and another thing is given up on something. I personally did not complain about any change, but i'm pretty sure some people just gave up on complaining.
8 -
But why did they give up? Do you feel like they gave up because it got no recognition and the complaining was useless, or something?

That's a question only them can answer, I don't read people's mind. I'll assume they have realized that when you dont complain about something popular, your complain doesn't matter that match. Regardless of how objective or/and accurate your complain might be. Bear in mind this game has a 4:1 ratio. PGTW is a good example. The perk was fine, there are many perks that need attention prior to it, yet they decided to tweak it.
We have seen priorities tend to respond to amount of complains, not objective complains. Some people might have catch that, and decided to stop complaining.

It reminds me of Warframe and how a dev there (which honeslty are good devs) said that people used to complain about Limbo (a playable character) and now they dont so much anymore so, clearly, people have found some way to use him after all.....
yeah... OR people realized their complaints were never heard and stopped investing.
The community here is no different, most of the people complaining are new here on the forums and we can tell them "hey welcome to the club, we complained about this about 2 years ago and nothing has happened since, but go on, maybe you will be the one who finally gets through".
Yes they give up because they arnt heard, they are seemingly just ignored, and it makes sense to complain when something is changing because that is when it has the most chance of getting recognition, but if after weeks of complaining nothing is done still, then yeah...why keep investing your time?

I think people give up because they believe they can't influence the devs, and I think it's pretty correct to think this. I mean not a single person I know likes the overheat mechanic, and from what it seems virtually nobody does, Billy is way less fun to play and didn't need the nerf. The devs know that nobody likes overheat and makes him less fun, but they opt to keep it in anyway. If Billy's overheat, something so obvious, a clear a horrible mistake that nobody likes isn't getting reverted at this stage, then it does feel like 'why bother'.
I don't really get the point of your post, it implies you think people should boycott the game or something because the devs won't listen?
There's enough evidence that there's no reason to continue bothering to complain, we have ridiculous things like iri head, keys and moris that still exist in October 2020. It's ridiculous, they can't even sort out the highest game ruining priorities which people have been rightfully complaining about for years. My expectation is they will (rightfully, IMO) make Thana 6% and (rightfully, IMO) keep the Pop nerf anyways.

Its because at some point they understood complaining was nonsensical.

What's the point of complaining about anything then? You'll forget it all eventually anyways. If some1 slaps you in the face, knocks your phone to the ground and kicks you, you'll probably forget it within a month too.
1 -
Some complaints go unnoticed for too long and people just forget about it

Are you comparing being actually honestly hurt in real life to forgetting about a change in a video game? Uncool.
0 -
Never understood it too, I couldn’t care less what the Devs change, as a gamer, you adapt to the changes and move on
3 -
No I'm saying that life is full of things that you'll forget about (some more important than others) but it doesn't mean you're not allowed to complain about things. Kinda like how you're complaining about the morality of what I said instead of the content of what I said instead of actually addressing it, even though you'll forget about this in a day or 2.

The devs can be very stubborn. There's no point complaining at them till the end of time to revert a change they made.
For instance I don't like new flashlights. I felt like the old version was really good and shouldn't have been changed. Thing is there's no point in me complaining about it forever so I just have to accept they're keeping the change and move on.

I don't think it's forgetting - I think it's more acceptance that changes have been made and people adapt to the changes, whether they are agreed with or not is pretty irrelevant at the end of the day. If something changes we have the option to have a moan about it, then if that change is staying we tend to adapt to it.

Let's be real here, most complaints the dbd community makes are angry rants.
They didn't care about the ruin nerf. They cared about the genrush meta and used the ruin nerf to complain about that.
They don't care about the measly 15 seconds that was shaved of pop. They just somehow linked it to DS to complain about that. Notice how most Pop complaints aren't to revert pop it's to change DS
Note that genrush and DS are still complained about. It's just the method of complaining that changes once in a while

Gonna have to disagree with the warframe devs bit. Did you not hear about Rebecca saying "What if every helminth ability was good??" like it was gonna be some plague that breaks everything in the game. If every helminth ability was good we would have actual build diversity and people would be far more willing to revist old, dated warframes that could have great synergies with other abilities. Nerfing Pillage won't make us want to use Terrify, we will just used a watered down Pilliage.

Yeah, I stopped carinng to much recently. If you complain, get stressed out because of dbd then that's not the best for your health.
I now say "whatever" to basically anything and play every Match. I stopped dodging Keys, potential Swf Lobbies. If I see a Strode Key I don't give a damn either. I just couldn't care less anymore. I just play to have fun and good Chases and I win the majority of my Matches anyways so.
You get even worse Matches if you care to much, that's the hard way I learned.

ermm sure? im not talking about helminth or whatever though, im talking about a devstream from aaaages ago regarding limbo and how the community views him.
The point is just that Rebecca drew the conclusion that because they saw far fewer people complaining about limbo, clearly, now everyone things he is just fine, it was just a matter of learning what the frame as well about ! :D
Rather then the reality of "well...we complained for months now, our cries fall on death ears sooo yeha, why still put in the effort? ill just play one of the many other frames the game has to offer and ignore limbo I guess".

"adapt" is a pretty political-esc way of saying: "completely ignore and forget that content even exists"
1 -
Because they know that no matter how much they complain and ask for change, they'll just be ignored.
