Short Reminder

just a short reminder that what people call "tunneling" is the only option against good red ranks (especially swf's) if you are going for the 4k. Had some games with Ghostface and Wraith this morning exclusively against rank 1-3 squads since i was hitting rank 1 last weekend and if you want to win, that's the only way, trust me. There is no "juggling hooks" or "spreading pressure" if they just stay injured, are decent with looping, have a decent map and sit on gens every free second. Maybe you can do this with Nurse or Spirit but not with those killers.

I always felt bad for the survivor who would have a bad game, that's why i refused to tunnel that survivor. There was always one who was at 2 hooks early in the game, i left him then because i felt safe "you will get him next time" but then this surv always disappeared and the others took the aggro. Sprinkle in some second chance perks and dead hard (2 dead harded into exit gates, one DS'd me at the gates) and you have it. I ended up with 1 kill most matches and some with 2 kills - but my problem is, it always felt like it's a sure 4k for the most part of the match.

If there is someone at 2 hooks, make sure to get him out of the game if it's 3 or 2 gens left, or you take the risk to get outplayed or outperked.

oh so i guess when i face red ranks and can win without needing to camp or tunnel they just hacked their way to being rank 1 did they?

you dont need to camp or tunnel. feel free to, but its not a necessity. you can get 12 hook games at red ranks; it's very dificult but it's very possible.

if you need to tunnel to stay in red ranks you shouldn't be in red ranks.

Just to make it clear, i'm not talking about camping and then hard tunneling, i'm talking about focussing on survivors who are on death hook or are the weak link. What killers do you play? Watch some streamers, they also say "we need a kill right now" and then focus on the survivor with the most hooks, if they already made 3 or 4 gens. There is nothing wrong about it. And i know that it's possible against mediocre or bad survivors to get 12 hooks, not every red rank is good or a god looper. And if i'm rank 1 i probably made something right because you don't get there by just hard tunneling and camping survivors all game.

the killer i play the most right now is pyramid head. without using his power to zone mindlessly or cages to tunnel, to clarify. next up is nurse, then wraith, then bubba, then freddy.

like i said as well, if you need to tunnel to be in red ranks, you don't belong there. you can rank up through camping, but if you need to camp you shouldn't be where you are.

    Define tunneling.

There’s prioritising hooks or there’s chasing someone off the hook and not giving a damn about DS or not.

I'm sure OP is referring to good squads, not rank 1 squads. You need to tunnel or at least prioritise hooks against them because 12 hooking them is impossible. EDIT: not even 12 hooking, you need to get someone out early in order to scrape a possible 2 or 3k.

If OP is referring to rank 1 squads then idk as most R1 lobbies are pretty easy unless you get a bunch of good solos which is rare AF.
