I feel like I'm doing something wrong as killer, I can't be this bad and Don't want to be.
I don't know if it's the game or just me(most likely me)
I have good games sometimes but there are other times I just can't win, my hits don't land even when I'm right behind someone, there are weird dodges and jukes appear to make no sense at all. For some reason when I go for a lunge that looks like it should hit it doesn't. when I go for a survivor as I swing my camera decides to turn causing me to miss or for some reason when I want to go straight it looks up and totally loose someone. the same goes when I try to follow them around turns. my camera decides you're not looking there. or the camera turns as I'm swinging and I miss. it just feels weird.
some of the dodges I've experienced are insane. If I try to do any of those things myself they never work ever. but It's mostly loosing people I shouldn't loose and missing hits that seem to be right on. Yeah dodging takes talent and is a skill so I'm not knocking the people who do it. oh and sometimes the people in question are running no perks at all or maybe 1 that does not give them a speed boost.

Sometimes I think this too, as killer. But then I realize that 50% of the time this happens to me because I'm trying to win way too much, even sweating while doing so, which is exactly why I lose in the end. You just gotta take it easy, and not take the game super seriously. Then, you'll get at least a kill or two. And also, sometimes the survivors just get the best of me. For instance, in my killer games, there is AT LEAST ONE person who uses Dead Hard.

If you've been encountering this pretty regularly on your lunges, then try to wait a little longer before you attack. You may be able to get close enough to just use a basic swing instead of a lunge, which is far less likely to miss (so long as you can keep the survivor on-screen when you attack).

Could be some combination of aim dressing, lag, and the weird blind spots where killers lose sight of survivors who get super close to them.
Usually aim dressing is responsible for the thing where you chase around an object and you have a clear shot at the survivor but then your camera turns and you hit a barrel or something instead.
Lag speaks for itself, but there's a particular issue with Dead Hard where it looks like the survivor stops and you're right on top of them, but then they suddenly surge forward.
Survivors who are good at doing 360s don't obviously look like they're turning 360 degrees from the killer POV. They look like they suddenly break left or right and then disappear, before you find them running in some random direction. If that's what you're seeing (and I can't tell for sure if it is), the best tip is to tap your attack instead of lunging, and try to wait for a moment when you have a super clean shot. Sometimes, you can also get them during a 360 if you whip your camera to the side and spin as you lunge.

Are you playing on console? Killer is known to have horrible frame drops on console when going for a hit and the survivor dodges.
Devs have no intention of fixing this, by the way.

Swf using their magic to make everything in the game not work right.
I was playing Wraith and I had no speed boost after uncloaking, couldn't catch up even while bloodlust walking in a straight line, always missed a vault slash, always missed pallet hit. It happens too often to be a coincidence and they're always 100% confident. It's blatant cheating.

I'm playing on PC but have cross play on. most of the people I end up against are on consoles.

Yeah, good jukes can be a bit frustrating. If possible do close range tap attacks instead of lunges, the quick attack has a wider arc that it can hit so is less likely to be sidestepped. Lunges have a longer range but a narrower angle of attack and the survivor can see you charging up the lunge and sidestep it if they’re quick. Save your lunges mainly for when the survivor is obviously going for a vault or pallet to hit them before they get there without worrying as much about a sidestep.
Also consider giving Shadowborn a try, having a wider field of view helps keep track of survivors trying to juke or 360 you. It does take a perk slot though so if you can hit them without it that’s obviously better, but what are perks if not for helping shore up a weak spot in your game or making your game feel less frustrating?
