Why You To Allow that Rescue
I wanted to address new Killers, and perhaps a few Killers that aren't so new too. There is something you might be overlooking; I know I did for at least a month or so when I started. It is going to sound counterproductive but you want Survivors to get pulled off hooks. There are a lot of good reasons why:
- If you 1-Hook each Survivor, i.e. they die on that first hook, you are not going to score very many points or earn much toward your emblems. Even if you get a 4K you will probably not earn a Pip (and might even lose one) as you get more potent in Rank.
- You need the practice hunting down, looping with, and grabbing Survivors. Ending a match quickly won't serve you well in the long term.
- 1-Hooks are often obtained by camping which means the rest of the Survivors are lighting up your Generators like the 4th of July. If they see you are too close, they won't risk the rescue. Remember, every Survivor that comes to rescue a hooked person isn't doing Generators.
I'm not saying there aren't going to be times when you should camp, or when you do want a specific person dead on hook right away. There are always exceptions. What I am saying is that guarding that one catch till they die actually hurts you, as the Killer, more than it does the Survivors.

I wish my teammates would do this. Instead they see a camping killer and start to crouch-walk around and stare at the killer. Then go in at the last second and get killed too.

They will learn. What new Survivors need to learn is milk hooks and camping Killers for the most Generators and Totems they can, but to make sure they try to get that rescue before the hooked one hits Stage-2. These things only come with time.

Well boys, we did it. Camping is no more.
