That Pyramid Head nerf can't come soon enough
As soon as Pyramid Head was released he went to the top of my list of hardest killers to beat, and he has stayed there ever since. I don't understand why he has a ranged attack because it doesn't go with his lore at all (that's like Meyers or Leatherface having a ranged attack). But that's not important. The thing that makes him so annoying to play against is the cage mechanic. It ignores DS, which was a good idea considering survivors abuse it (stunning a killer with it despite not being tunneled) but I regret supporting that aspect now.
A Pyramid Head can straight up tunnel you and there's almost nothing you can do to stop it. Being rescued from cages doesn't activate DS and if you run to a loop he can just option select you with his ranged attack. Now you might say, "That's assuming he finds you straight away." but he totally can. For some reason when the devs hid the cage aura from him, they left in the notification of someone getting rescued from the cage, which defeated the entire purpose of the nerf. I feel that he's gonna be a main for a lot of tunneling killers until that notification is removed as well. I know it's a bit much to ask but if that could be snuck into the upcoming nerf, I'd much appreciate it. I'm sure others would too, despite the ensuing ######### storm that will be this response section.

By any chance are you on PS4 and play in a 4 man SWF? I got out of a match about 15 minutes ago where a green bunny Feng with a map ran straight towards me while tormented, failed to bait me with BT, got caged and called me a “homophobic fuckface” and a “tunneling #########” afterwards. If not, then this thread had some interesting timing (you’re also complaining about the cages).

He's not being nerfed, though. the PTB version of him is a hard buff; fun.

That's a great mechanic though, because cages are not hooks they serve the purpose of buying the killer sometime in a chase. That's what the aura ability was for when they first where introduced it and now with the nerf to them there completely invisible to him also he cannot camp the cages because they will be transported to another location. Lorewise his power isn't from the The Entity so it doesn't function as a hook does in The Entity's realm.

PTB doesn't address anything in terms of his frustration. You can still insta M1 which was his primary and frankly the only issue. I wouldn't mind nerfing baiting with PH as long as they reduce cooldown of PoTD attacks even further.

The "trick" is not to run throu his traces. Unless you unhook someone in the basement this is something that is very easy to avoid. Also getting caged is a lot better then being hooked. Chances are you get teleported to someone sitting on a gen who can immedietly unhook you. Avoiding his secondary is nothing i am particually good in myself, but since i also play PH i had a lot of situations where cornered survivors just dodged all of my attacks. Stay at a loop and bate is m2. Similar counterplay as with huntress.

But it's like playing against Hag: you need to crouch the whole way through to counterplay it. That's annoying and makes you waste time like crazy, so it's a lose-lose.

Just because you can't use DS doesn't make it a lose lose.
Yea sure, you still get DS basically removed. But if you didn't have DS being tormented means next to nothing other than a tiny bit of saved time on the killers end
To help against him do either:
- Save super late in the cage (so just before death or 2nd stage). This means he has less time to kill you and your teammates have more time on gens before you die.
- Keep him looped for a good enough duration after being uncaged so gens get done.

PH can still fake his power by not completing the bar after the "nerf".
They changed nothing about faking his power. They buff him actually by reducing the cooldown animation when he misses the punishment.
