Survivors stalling the game

It has happened to me 3 times recently. Usually they start to all gather in the basement and sit there until I come to kill them. As hag on ORMOND which was just shocking, one with ghostface on midwich, and one with huntress on Springfield. I am annoyed to say that this is happening more often and I am not a fan of this. Usually the survivors hide when I start doing good. Just wanted to know if I am just really unlucky or if this is a thing that is starting to trend. Very lame.

    Seems like you're unlucky.

Try to look for crows if survivors are hiding.

They kept moving around in the basements so they wouldn't get crows to show up :|

I've never bumped into anything like an organized effort to slow the game. Of course, I typically run Whispers, so it would be really hard to pull off. If I'm always within 32 meters of you, you're going to be hard pressed to hide for long. Especially since being at the edge of whispers, when its flickering, gives you very precise information: exactly 32 meters away in a pretty specific direction. So I immediately can use my eyes and guestimate pretty accurately where you currently are.

Yeah I love that perk, the only problem is that I didn't bring it the times I really needed it lol.

Unfortunately, this is just something some survivors will do if they don't get their way. I personally have had some games where survivors will just refuse to do gens and crouch around everywhere when it was clear I was going to win.

The only real solution is to play Doctor or bring Whispers.

Yeah, I play Hag - my sweaty tryhard build is Whispers, Sloppy Butcher, Monitor & Abuse and Make Your Choice. Slot in addons that increase trap range and distance you can teleport to it.

Make Your Choice is amazing since survivors have to basically crawl walk away from a hook (if not, happy to immediately teleport there and one-shot the hero), you can easily be far enough away to proc Make Your Choice and then run to the hook before they are 100% clear.

Whispers helps me ID which gens are being worked on from afar... then find the stragglers at the end and chase them into my traps.

I'd add a mechanic where if a gen hasn't popped in 15 minutes the killer can manually open an exit gate to start a half-duration "Sudden Death" EGC where the other exit gate remains unpowered and survivors are exposed.

Harsh, but if survivors are literally ignoring gens for 15 minutes I think the match can be considered a potential hostage situation and the killer should have the option to force the match to end if he feels survivors are actually wasting his time.

It's only ever happened to me once, on Lery's and I was on the Survivor's side. A 3 man just huddled up on the second level, in a corner. Outside of that, I've never seen it happen.

I will say, sometimes it can feel like the Survivors are holding the game hostage if they're trying to find a key or something, but that usually works itself out at some point.

Would that maybe incentivise survivors to stall for longer than they would have if they don't think they can get out by doing generators?

No, because the other gate is unpowered, they're one hit downable, (and honestly maybe they should be moriable too just to rub salt in the wound) and they have a short time to try to leave through the exit gate the killer is guarding.

I started playing doctor a lot these days so I don’t have this problem anymore.

Heck, if I see all blendy looking characters wearing dark clothes, I equip double red add-ons and offer a meat plant offering and make the scream all night long.
