Console Latency

Here's a real problem with the game that no one is talking about. Console players still experience latency.

I have played on PC and XBOX. It's very noticeable that when you throw a pallet down on PC, it's near instant. You won't often lose a health state once you actually press the button to throw down the pallet, but playing against a PC killer on XBOX, it's very noticeable that you will almost ALWAYS take damage trying to throw a pallet down. I have countless clips of pallets literally halfways down, and the next frame i somehow receive damage. just wanna mention I am speed-testing frequently too [300d/30u] of this.

A lot of console players have never played on PC, and vice versa, and so they don't know the difference. As someone who does, I cannot believe that after four and a half years and dedicated servers, BHVR still hasn't fixed this.

I'm basically guaranteed to get shafted when I play survivor because of how often ridiculous trades are made in this game (when playing on console). I really have a lot of nasty things to say about the "devs" at BHVR, and I'm sure others do too, but for the sake of keeping it friendly and maybe possibly getting this fixed, I just want this to get attention and maybe even blow up.

Console players are literally dying to this BS.

I will add that I'm a killer main, certain killers also suffer from this latency. Deathslinger being the one i notice it most on, shots will randomly just not connect. Highly ironic cause I have clips of me avoiding PC deathslinger shots but still getting hit behind walls because again, console players are at a disadvantage due to this latency)

That is why crossplay is fun on console. It's a hard mode because you face killers or survivors without these problems. If you are not better than PC-players you should disable crossplay.

So you're better than all the pc players lmao. good constructive point. I'm sure the dev's really meant to call it ~Laggy~ hard mode instead of cross-platform. jfc go ruin another forum post please.

Literally my point! Console players are suffering and they don't even know it! It shouldnt be this way, and we need to bring attention to it tbh because it dont feel like i should have to restart everything, and lose all my cosmetics just to get that better quality.

It's not latency... It's frames per second.

We play at 20 fps max on console while most of the pcs run at 50 or more... Imagine more than twice the information running through your screen. That's what happens.

I mean, they're not supporting this current gen, how will they support next gen?

    Sad

I have a couple of clips from different games over the last couple of weeks where the killer is visibly on my side of the pallet for a split second before teleporting back to the opposite side of the pallet after hitting me.

Im on a wired 100mg connection too so shouldn’t be a problem there.

I honestly think consoles were intended as a cash grab and that the devs had no clue how to actually work with them (on top of DBD being a buggy mess in general), so all of these problems are taking years to fix. It’s a real shame that I have to hope that the game decides to hold it together while I’m playing.

That’s probably where all the resources went. When BHVR heard how powerful next-gen was compared to this gen, they threw all console resources to it and hoped that the current gen would just fix itself (even though base current gen consoles can support games that much more demanding). I wouldn’t be surprised if they still can’t support consoles and are relying on their power to just brute force through the problems.

I've never played the game on console but this seems like such an odd issue, are you using a wired connection on your console. I knew console players tended to be laggier but I always assumed it was because they used wifi instead of an ethernet cable.

I use a wired connection because the wifi was so laggy but even with wired it’s still a hot mess
