Challenges extremely frustrating for tomes instead of just actually playing the game?

They've gotten worse for each and every new Rift. And I imagine that BHVR will put Halloween stuff in a Rift and force us to complete it if we want any goodies. They did so last year. It sucks. Rift is the sole reason why I am barely playing the game anymore.

Some are. The hag challenges specifically are and absolute pain in the ass because I dont play her and I dont like her.

It can be, especially when survivors throw the game just to get their challenges. Personally I like having optional objectives to do.
Fun story time: the other day I was doing an old challenge to get 4 hooks during the EGC. I played Trapper and spent the match setting up for the endgame (I wasn'tusing NOED, FWIW). The survivors legit played extremely well and all 4 were still alive by the time the gates were opened. Then two of them started tbagging in the exit gate while injured, not realizing that I had just activated Blood Warden. I ended up getting a 3k and all 4 EGC hooks I needed for my challenge. In the post-chat the survivors were arguing with each other about which one of them threw the match.

I'd argue the worst was tome 3, tbh. Sniping so many times in a single game as huntress for only 3 fragments? Get 5 FF hits in one use of FF? Wat?
But that tome made up for it by not being as grindy overall to complete the rift. Tome IV was ass for that.

It's as if they forget what red rank gameplay is like for killers, honestly lmao. As if people won't split vs Legion or be wary of the locations where the Trapper has been. xD

Try running her with Make your choice, Pop, surveillance, and Monitor with rusty shackles and dried cicada. I understand she's not for everyone but it is a very fun build on her. Plenty of phantasm teleport opportunities and such.

It makes 0 sense to me why a challenge should take more than 1-2 matches to complete. It drives me nuts when I see a challenge as easy and time consuming as "Hook the Obsession enough times for your a baby to get a college scholarship". Like for real. "Kick generators, or break pallets 40 times"? Well I'll have you know - I did that challenge in a single match, and probably made at least 3-4 of those survivors quit the game entirely.
Also don't even get me started on challenges like "Chase Survivors for a total of 300 seconds". In a game where you are supposed to end chases quickly. Why tf are we getting challenges to perform our role badly? They are challenges, not quota's.
Challenges like meeting emblem requirements makes sense. Challenges sacrificing survivors, completing gens, making saves makes sense. If they are kept within the boundaries of one or two matches.
Challenges that all they do is track your activity, and take forever to complete are dull and dumb to have as a challenge.
Also why do we select one challenge to do every round? Why not make it like the Daily Quests, where you can complete multiple challenges at once in a single match. Get rid of the whole centered focus, so that players stop sabotaging and making the game terrible when they can play normally and get 2-3 challenges done in a single round?

Huntress ones were how you'd normally play her except for the get 15 hits in one match. You either had to primarily use hatchets and screw around or farm for that one.
5 FF hits was pretty much, get the entire team, then hit the last guy again. Easier in practice. I did the safe way and hit the 5th person when they bandaged themselves out of deep wounds. There are add-ons that extend FF duration, so it's just a matter of tagging them at that point.

I understand what youre saying but 15 hatchet hits... is excessive... and 5 with feral is also excessice. I dislike challenges where it also relies on survivor skills as well as my own. May i point out again 6 trapper traps?

6 Trapper traps is just a perfect game. Usually when things get chaotic at 2 gens and you already set everything up.
Not impossible (4 basement kills still worst challenge) but it will test your abilities.

I get 4 basement kills as trapper almost every 4k i get. (I do just run agi and iron graps on him) or i just play basement bubba.

Against semi competent survivors, the FF one isn't going to happen, tbh. And this was the issue. There are maps that are gigantic and thus it is very difficult for legion to hit every survivor once with FF in the first place.

Semi competent? You mean when they try their window tech and I just stand there or try to do a stupid little spin only to get stabbed anyways? Paired with Bamboozle it halts any vaulting loops too.
And not every map is massive. The majority of maps are perfectly doable with every duration add-on stacked. Most of the time they all spawn together too, so the match start is grounds for a team stabbing.

you shouldnt need godly addons to do basic challenges...

The ability isn't as underpowered as people say. It's getting follow up attacks to down them is where they have issues.
It's a green and yellow add-on, and it mainly acts as insurance if they split up. Others will try hiding behind a rock or something stupid from my experience.

Who said anything about Legion being UP? Like, they are, but I wasn't making that argument. I love them.
Sounds like oyu're going up against baby survivors so idk what to say. In red ranks, at least in EU and Oce, that stuff doesn't happen - they split.

Challenges encourage crappy gameplay on both sides making matches not as fun. That on top of the grind to complete a rift causing burn out just makes me dread the new one coming out. Wish there was a longer break between them.

I think the devs ARE trying to somehow encourage different playstyles, but end up missing the mark (unfortunately). We need a change in game mechanics to encourage different styles, then the challenges will be more fun automatically.

No, this isn't about doing well; this is about getting 5 hits in one use of Legion's power specifically. You can do well by only being able to hit one person at a time with it as Legion. But ok.

They interfere with the game, because people get so focused on them that they forget about the match and get themselves killed trying to get them done which can screw their teammates.
