Why punish higherlevel players with less shards?
im at devotion 1 level 80.. and its 4200XP to get to next level.. and u get only like 200 shards for each level no matter how high it is why? that means people who climbed level will get less shards have to wait more in match lobby and takes more time to level up to get more shards.. why? I do pay for skins i really like but i also want to level up faster so i can unclock more perks on character.. can you atleast increase max BP cap to 2 Million if you reached devoution 1 or something?

I agree with increasing the BP cap to 2 million it really sucks if you don't get any good benefit from being high level.

No matter your level 14EXP = 1 shard. So if you're level 80 or 1, you won't gain less or more shards.
3 -
200 shards?? It rewards 300 shards for every level post level 50. For now, I think the shards rewarded are decent. You easily earn above 21k+ shards from level 1-100. I agree with you that there should be rewards for every time you hit Devotion. I am not really sure about the blood points cap though, at least it shouldn't be removed. I feel like 1 million it's also enough, but 1.75 million bloodpoints will take you from level 1 to 50.

You get 300 shards for each level.

If there would be no cap, people would have a p3 characters with every single perk as soon as it comes out
But there are tons of people who've lost their progress and now have lots of millions of bloodpoints. And people also get this in the first days anyway. Not to mention 4X Bloody Party SWFs with WGLF (~100K per match if they're grindy enough).

[insert really rude word]!!
No one would have a p3 character with every single perk as soon as that char comes out. That´s more than 10 million bloodpoints. And even IF someone wants to save say 12 million bloodpoints and spend them on that new character. Which btw. would take a tedious amount of time. So what? Does this in affect YOU in any negative way? Does this make this person better than other players? Does it give a ingame advantage? NOPE!5 -
Isn't it very normal for the grind to slow down more as you progress further?
I get it's not appealing, but it never is in any game, and this game's grind is designed to be significantly slower as a standard compared to other games.0 -
I was pressing close to Devotion 3 but still have like 14 or so more levels to get there so the grind at the lower levels isn't that bad. The devs have stated they want to rework the devotion rewards some but how is the 64k dollar question.

This is not a "punishment." It is an oversight at most. You are not being punished for ranking up as you make out, you just are not rewarded anymore or less than previously. The whole level thing is half baked at best, no real reward but a small number under the emblem and maybe some bragging rights?

But it makes no sense to have a limit now. Since the savegame data is stored online.
They removed the shards limit, there is no auric cells limit. Why have a bloodpoint limit?0 -

There would be no challenge in leveling up characters.
No challenge = less incentive to play.
Less incentive to play = bad business move.HellDescent said:This is what devs said, deal with it

They removed the shards limit, there is no auric cells limit. Why have a bloodpoint limit? They explained it already. It's to avoid cases when people save up a crazy amount of points to spend on a character as soon as it comes out. It removes the grind, having all perks from day one may create an impression of him being op and cause unnecessary nerfs. People wouldn't expect 12 killers to have spirit's perks at day one. Which would result in nerfs for her perks. Take a look at Freddy.

But since we stemmed away from the actual topic... Yeah, they definitely need to add better rewards for reaching higher player levels or at least devotion rewards. Exclusive cosmetics preferably.0

There are several people who manage to P3 a new character the same day they're released and that's with the BP cap. Imagine without it. It takes no time at all, especially with the right offerings or the help of a double BP weekend/SWF mass offerings, to prestige a character. The focus shouldn't be on if they were to unlock all perks but the teachable perks. Without the cap, players would be able to unlock all the teachables for both the new killer and survivor upon release.

Basically this.
P3 is only a skin. A skin doesn´t make a char OP. Resticting bloodpoints has only negative effects. It doesn´t remove the grind. Those points have to be farmed first. It doesn´t turn a character OP, because players will have everything unlocked some days earlier. A perkless new character doesn´t give less incentives to play, than a fully stacked new character.
Devs said also, no clowns. Devs said, survivors are supposed to play with random players only. Devs are not adamant on things. If we as a community ask for something, they´ll give it to us.

So are killers less OP when they have everything unlocked after 2 weeks? Just asking. Because after 2 weeks we have fully stacked p3 killers.
Freddy was nerfed, because rank 20 f2p survivors review bombed the game. Nothing else.

my point was that from level 1-40 or somethings its easy to get shards upwards of 15K or soemthing.. but after that it takes longer to levelup and shards are awarded at same rate.. which is what im getting at..
A level 80 Devotion 1 player should earn more shards since it takes more time to levelup than a level 40 Devotion1 .. I want to stack up on shards for upcoming event.. not sure if itrequires shards.. but unless at level 1 or something its painfully slow to earn them since it takes liek 3 -4 games to level up XP requirement is 4200 atm for me..

Who said anything about prestige making characters OP?
You're absolutely right, restricting BP doesn't remove the grind. It encourages it, which is the point. When you cap off at 1 mil, you spend BP on other characters and when new ones are released you save up again to level them up. A perkless new character clearly gives more incentive to play if the player intends to unlock their teachables.
And yes, that's true. Just because the devs said something doesn't mean it's set it stone. They're entitled to a change of mind. But if we're going to ask or demand for things, perhaps we should make our requests a bit more reasonable.

A perkless character doesn´t give more incentive to play. Because you don´t NEED to play that character to unlock his teachables. Right now, people get up to the limit and waste points on other characters they wouldn´t usually spend the points on. Then the character is released, people spend the million points and play some matches to test the char, but then go back to their usual chars, to farm more points for the perkless char. The limit only changes the timeframe. Instead of farming before the char is released, people are forced to farm after the release. Remove the limit, and let people decide when they want to farm.
Btw. the whole bp system needs a rework. The current 8.000 points limit is from back when points were required to pip. The new 100% bonus bp addons make currently no sense, since they award the points during the match. For example, a Wraith with Distressing and The Beast addon gets 2.200 points in Deviousness per hit. Reaching the limit in 4 hits. Either they haven´t thought about this, or they don´t know their perks/addons.
Why should anyone gimp his character with a build like this one, if it doesn´t award points past the limit?0 -

Why should anyone gimp his character with a build like this one, if it doesn´t award points past the limit? It's simple logic. If players reach the cap and "waste" their points on other characters, and are then tempted to grind BP to level up new characters... clearly they played more than they would have without the cap. It's a good business move.
Now, from the player's perspective. I don't know about you, but I'd rather not have everything handed to me on a silver platter. Games like that are boring and people lose interest fast. If anything, teachable perks should be harder to unlock—perhaps unlocking one per prestige or by completing character-specific achievements. But anyway, without the cap people would just play as their main and let BP add up over the weeks until a new survivor/killer is released then instant P3. Lame.
Anyway, I'm done with this conversation. Best of luck to you and your future endeavors.

I don't see the issue here at all because the Shard reward goes up as the XP needed to level up does.
0 -
Increased BP cap would be awesome imo.
As far as shards go, You get ~0.07 shards per XP at all levels (except 2), it just gets handed out more often in the lower levels (in smaller quantities).
