Can you cheat on console?

I watched Ghostface carry a survivor into the basement. I hid in a locker waiting for him to come up the stairs. He never did. A few seconds later someone went down across the map. Is there a secret passage out of the basement I do not know about? How is it possible to leave the basement without using the stairs? It was a console killer so I did not think it was possible to cheat.

I´m not sure whether it´s possible to cheat on console, but there are hacks to make a player appear as if they were on console. Helps them lessen suspicion. I had supposed console players literlly vanish in plain sight only to reappear somewhere else later, so there´s that.

Huh, I wondered if that was a thing. I saw him later outside the foundry a great distance away. I entered the foundry from the other side and he appeared behind me, Spindchill never activated.

I also saw a console player Deadhard about a dozen times in rapid succession. They got away and started to self heal. They had neither self care or deadhard as perks.

It is possible but on something like dbd it’s like .01% chance so probably not. More then likely it was something like latency not showing them come up, you just missed them come up somehow, or maybe an oddball out the survivor needed to mend and didn’t?

I think people fail to remember this when they make posts about console or PC

I don't know what to say since there is no video evidence and its hard to trust sombody without it.

yes, i actually know of a group that could do things such as prevent you from hooking them and sending a fake version of their player model one way as they go another way invisible. I only played with one of them but the guy showed me and said the whole group thing. this was post crossplay btw.

edit: no i dont have video evidenced because i didn't want to get booted from them checking my profile and i said i wouldn't record so i kept my word.

Actually now that I think about it she might have gone down due to a deep wound timer.

I did not know this. Maybe we need a different icon for MS store players. I don't video my games so no evidence, but it would be a stupid thing to lie about. I know latency is a problem, is it possible for a player to leave the basement and because of latency never appear on my screen? Again I was in the locker in the shack staring at the stairs so I know they never appeared. Does the game just not render things sometimes?

Of course it is. The idea that you can't cheat on console is a really dumb narrative that was part of, originally, the idea of why it wasn't so bad to pay for console networks like XBL or PSN. Consoles aren't these invincible obelisks, they're just computers.

You can cheat on any platform, some are just harder to. Although I don't understand why people go through the trouble to cheat/hack because they just get caught and banned 99% of the time.

Yeah, it’s definitely possible to cheat on consoles. I wish we could have some way of knowing whether the person reported was banned. As of right now, we have no way to know if our report worked or was even read.

Its possible to hack on console but waaaay harder.

You can hack everything in the world. Nothing is hackprove. Not even your cats!

That would explain alot, sometimes my cats do act like they are hacked.

It's also not way harder, it just typically requires a PC and the requisite knowledge, which really isn't very much. The biggest deterrence is just not wanting to have to make a new account and pay for online again. Same as how the biggest deterrence on PC is not wanting to get banned and having to make another account and buy the game again.

In general, DBD has a very, VERY small amount of cheaters, regardless of platform. And a lot that do tend to keep it pretty lowkey, like running to a corner for an insta-heal that no one can see, so no one gets suspicious, or running just a tiny bit faster, things like that. There's also more egregious ones like hooking yourself to block the killer from hooking other people, but those are more rare and blatant, and thus detected easier and more easily proven with video evidence.

Never, ever assume a platform is free from cheaters. It is damn near impossible to keep people from cheating.

Well with harder i meant rarer since almost no one bothers to hack on console since, jist like you said they need a PC anyway.

So it would be easier for them to just hack on PC than on Console.

    Still.. Check your cats!
