This Halloween event will be a joke
These are things I've heard so take them with a grain of salt. If these end up happening well, I guess you can read the title of this post.
1: Halloween skins will not be earnable, instead they will have to be bought.
2: There is no difference from the last event. Same as always, just a slight bloodpoint boost.
3: The new survivor add on can be used whenever the player wants after the event has ended, but the killer is limited to during the event ONLY. (Devs, your bias is showing)
If there are any I missed then this event will be a bigger joke than I thought.

The last hallowed blight with the Pustulas was a completely unplayable shitshow so I'm amazed they've decided to ruin the game for serious players for 2 weeks again. With less incentive this time.

I believe the serum for Killers is actually a test trial for that "early game pressure" system they are working on, if they actually implement something like that the Killer Add-on would be redundant.
This is obviusly my idea and not a rumor Ive heard anywhere.

Well idk maybe it's because insane mobility on every killer would be game breaking. Imagine otz runninf that serum every game and I can ASSURE you his pop value and chase times are gonna be better exponentially

You also got to be careful that you don't fuel unnecessary flames.
1. It's quite possible they could just add the event currency with the Rift like they did last time. If you remember last year the event cosmetics were under store for at least a week or two before we actually got the currency when the rift hit.
2. The initial 2018 was terrible in terms of execution. Survivors were throwing games just to get serum. Literally harvesting plants then getting themselves killed on hook so they can go to the next game this made extremely unfun for people who wanted to play normally. It also made it harder to get serum for the Killer because you usually couldn't get more than 4 hooks.

These addons are only obtainable from a yearly event... how long would a supply of them last if a player used them in every match?

If the skins this year aren't earnable at a reasonable rate than majority of players will be grinding other games. No doubt some people, or a lot of people, will fork over the cash to buy the new skins but it will still upset most of the community. I'll probably be playing Overwatch this month since their Halloween content can be earned by simply playing the game.
Oh I'm sure "someone" in here will deny this. There's always at least one lol

the first time they did the flowers two years ago, you had some killers/survivors that let you get the needed vials and some that were just jerks. Also at the start you could only earn 1. reward so you had to choose if you wanted a killer or survivor skin. then with a week left they made it so you could do the event once each side not just once period. by then it was far too late to get the second skin. the huntress skin looked amazing and I wanted it but couldn't get it in time since I wasn't playing killer at that point. now you can just buy things with BS cells. I'd prefer being able to earn skins rather then buy them.

Survivors have an addon for medkits that when used, the survivor being healed gets a 20 second speed boost. Killer gets an addon that gives them a blight rush, which they cannot attack during. Both addons give a spead boost. The problem is that the survivors can use theirs as long as they have the addon, where as the killer can ONLY use theirs DURING the event. These are both event addons so why is it that the survivors can use theirs months after the event is finished, where as the killer gets a greyed out unusable addon?

If you don't know anything about the event or what these addons even are, then maybe you could do a little digging so you might understand the issue better.
By not doing so, you make yourself look like yet another uninformed or willfully blind white night for bhvr.

That is an interesting theory, however I've always pictured the early game pressure having something to do with generators (as that is the main objective for survivors).

I believe there is a bias, to an extent. It isn't like I'm saying that they are out to ruin the game for killers (Although at times it feels like it.) But there is a sense that they want the game a little more in favor of the survivors. Granted we don't know how fast this 20 second speed boost is so we don't know if it's really op or if it's a garbage add on no one will use. If it's anywhere close to a sprint burst, yes this is HEAVILY biased. But if it's like Hope or something then no one will use it. We got another 2 days to know for sure though.
But still, event addons and offerings should be limited to ONLY the event they came with. That way it is fair from both perspectives. Then we wouldn't get the "If they keep theirs then I should keep mine" argument.

Im my opinion I believe it will be slower gens for a set amount of time or before a chase starts but they are probably trying several approaches and see which one is the better and the lest exploitable, I do believe this is one of them.

Killers could just join a game and find The Entitys flame to earn the halo, survivours had to find AND survive while glowing brightly! but Killers Halloween event item being limited shows bias. 🤔 Did The anniversay event show the survivour bias...

There's a difference between a cosmetic crown and an item with an actual gameplay effect. Getting a speed boost in chase is HUGE

Just go look at your comment then my reply then at your reply and we can talk. U say the devs aren't biased to survivors cuz the crown was so easy to earn for killers (######### cosmetic no one will use barely even visible on most killers awful gameplay disadvantage for survivors), the add on for survivors makes them run fast for x seconds and the killer add on is a short blight dash, survivors can use their add on at any time and killers can't after the event (apparently, not confirmed) the event will have paid only skins with no way to earn them, the crowns were able to be earned for free by both sides and could be used after the event FOR BOTH sides again. See where im going or still no? Plus the blight skins are always amazing and the devs know we love them so making them paid only is straight up greed if thats true

Isnt the speed boost a medkit addon? This is what I read earlier. I appologize if I am wrong. But if so, Killer only need bring Franklins and burn the kit like they do keys. Also the survivours would have to bring Ace in the Hole to keep addon or lose them forever, right? Its not like its gonna be an endless supply of uses. (Unless Im mistaken with what I earlier read)

Franklin's no longer burns items like it used to, now they disappear IF they are on the ground for 90 seconds (and no one is gonna leave their item on the ground for that long). And if anything its just gonna make strong killers like nurse spirit billy (killers with movement) even stronger and weaker killers even weaker, if the speed stacks with stuff like hope of new bloodpact thats just gonna be incredibly overpowered especially against 110 killers. I hope the devs thought about those things and the speed doesn't stack but looking at previous examples.... idk man. Also the skins are not in the rift only David is, the other skins are all straight buy for 1080 auric cells or 21600 shards, so whats the point of the event if u can't even earn anything its just some bloodpoints

Can't blame them tbh. Considering how much "talk" and "rumors" go around these forums, that it wouldn't take you but 2 seconds to post a source. Because unfortunately it gets people rattled up about things that haven't happened yet.

the halloween event was started late and merged with the thanksgiving/christmas events so we really got one event instead of 2 or 3. the skins were available but because the rift wasn't ready they ended up starting AFTER halloween that's why the skins were in the store at halloween but the event not started.
I am holding out till I see what it is, instead of taking people who have data mined things and skewed the information their way and then others keep parroting the information and each time it's slightly different. I will hold judgement till i see what is going on.

I don't like to be rude to the devs since i know its a lot of work, but why would u ever make 2 event things for both sides but only let 1 use it after the event is over, especially when its so much better than the other side. Idk if u've seen the new killer add on but its literally pointless on killers like hag, trapper, demo etc. it says u can't use your power unless u use the dash first, and u can't even attack in the dash. But the other side gets speed boost for 20 seconds (unknown % prob like hope/bloodpact) and they can use that all year whenever they want, now imagine that stacks with hope and bloodpact. Hopefuly they've thought about that and it doesn't stack. The add on thing is just unfair towards killers its not even that good with so many restrictions and u can't even use it when u want, either disable both or enable both after the event. The community is way too 2 sided already don't make it worse ;-;

It wasn't that bad. You just spent the first 2 minutes running around the map looking for the petals and then play normally again. I'm actually disappointed they didn't do it last year.

Do you know why survivors had to escape?
It was to keep them from dc'ing or killing themself on the first hook as soon as they got the halo, ruining the game for everyone else. So blame the survivors for that one.

idk, maybe one changes gameplay and power mechanics while the other is a status effect that’s already in the game
knowing dbd, the serum add on would be constantly bugged and i doubt they’d wanna fix it everytime it happens

I was actually surprised how little difference the kill rate was during that event for me lol still my favourite event they've done. Nothing better than finding that petal off spawn lol

Here's a description of the killer add on.
A small amount of Compound Thirty-Four, the final serum The Blight
worked on before his transformation. Causes extreme mutations in high doses.
- Unlocks 1 Token to use on the Blighted Rush ability, which replaces your Killer Power until consumed.
Press the Power button to initiate a Blighted Rush, allowing you to quickly dash forward, consuming 1 Token.
- Cannot attack during a Blighted Rush.
- 1 Token is recharged whenever a Survivor is hooked.
- When used by The Blight
- , instead increases available Rush Tokens by 1.
Blight Serum is only playable during the Eternal Blight Event.
