Why do you nerf things that are fine, and not buff things that are bad?
Why nerf perks like:
- Discordance, which was fine as is.
- Huntress Lullaby, which is pretty useless already.
- Pop goes the Weasel, which is pretty fine already.
- Thanataphobia, which was bad already. (honestly philosophy behind the change i agree with, but the numbers bump wasn't enough)
Why nerf Pyramid Head who is B tier at best?
Why give useless perks useless buffs like:
- Cruel limits, which will stay useless
- Slippery Meat, which will stay useless
- Technician, which will stay useless
- Mindbreaker, which will stay useless
- Forced Penance, which will stay useless
Why not rework killers like:
- Nurse (Who is OP)
- Spirit (Who is unfun)
- Deathslinger (Who is unfun, which btw you are leaving him as is but nerfed PH even though their complaints are the same?)
Why not nerf perks like:
- Dead Hard
- Decisive Strike
- DS + UB combo
- Hex Undying + Ruin Combo
- NOED (which is unfun)
Why not fix moris and keys?
Like i get it, i really do, you have priorities. But much of this list has been a problem for a LONG time.
- Decisive Strike has been a problem since it's release back in The current version has been a problem since APRIL 2019
- DS + UB has been a problem since April 2019.
- Moris have been a problem forever
- Keys have been a problem forever
- NOED has been a problem for literally ever
- Nurse has been a problem since her release, and shes one of the original 5!!
- Spirit has been a problem since release
- Deathslinger has been a problem since release March 2020
- All of the useless perks i have listed have been useless since release, and many we even TOLD YOU BEFORE THE PATCH CAME OUT that they were useless, yet nothing was done for them.
- The "buffs" for the useless perks keep them just as useless

While i can agree with some things you say i have to ask you... What do you have againts the nurse?
1 -
I'm a nurse main with 1k hours. She is OP. I seriously have to try to lose when i play her. I literally can't even remember the last time i played a game with her and didn't get a 4k.
Generally i think most of the community agrees that she is by far the best killer in the game. I understand she is hard to play, but that isn't a way to balance something. Her power fundamentally breaks the game. Ideally they should rework her entirely.
4 -
Somehow I doubt your a nurse main if your crying that she's op.
There's a lot of "Nurse Mains" who say she's op and when pressed admit they have literally never even played her.
6 -
The only thing I disagree with is Mindbreaker. It’s a great perk now.
3 -
Mindbreaker has potential. Remember
1. It works beyond 50% gen progress
2. It's really strong with stealth killers/no TR perks to counter sprint burst and dead hard.
3. You don't recover from exhaustion while working on gen. So if you just sprint burst away and come back to the gen, you're not recovering.

I mean, i dunno what else to say:
- Uncloak attacks: 1,382
- Chainsaw hits: 373
- Blink attacks: 2,536
- Phantasms triggered: 756
- Evil Within tier ups: 132
- Shocks: 2,734
- Hatchets thrown: 2,560
- Dream state: 1,232
- Reverse bear traps placed: 495
- Cages of atonement: 105
- Lethal Rush hits: 352
- Bear trap catches: 26
Used to play huntress when i was a baby, then Doctor was the first killer i bought. When i got good i started playing nurse, playing her ever since. For fun i cycle around with Wraith and I farm bloodpoints with freddy (no addons). Blight is pretty fun too lately.
I also don't play her as often as people might think a "main" would simply because it can get boring 4king every game while barely trying....
I tend to play her in the 1st and last game of the night then cycle to around to w/e killer feels fun ATM, then bust her out after a SWF sweat squad pisses me off. I also switch off to survivor from time to time.
EDITED: It's actually more now, the original numbers were about a month old.

Ya...Those stats don't really say much about you maining any killer but it does mean you atleast played the nurse unlike most "Nurse Mainz" on these forums.
Also I still have my doubts you'd want her reworked given how unique she is for her kit if you really play her as your main killer.
Edit: What I am trying to get at is if you played the nurse for being the nurse then why would you want her to be reworked and have her entire identity removed?

I don't know what else to say to convince you so at this point i'm not going to bother responding to you. I literally have 2.5k blink strikes on her which amounts to a hit. When matched with killers like doctor where you can just spam shocks who has 2.7k... i dunno.
How about we stay on topic though yeah?
3 -
I have my doubts too. Because i play her and imo she isn't op at all. The new nurse is much slower than the pre-nerf one, and shes totally addon dependant. Waiting for the recharge+fatigue without the addons is overkill and not well thought, and its also the main reason why almost no one play her anymore.
And of course one is still able to 4k with her, but its harder and i find that fine. But her playstyle changed and you have to be even more agressive if you don't want to get gen rushed in no time. Slugging is like a forced tactic as her now.

I don't agree with every little detail, but overall... Yeah. I agree. There's some really weak perks that could be buffed with simple number increases alone, and some stronger perks that could be nerfed with a similar change.
I think some of the changes have been blown out of proportions. Discordance, Lullaby and Thana, for example. For the most part, their use and effect won't really change.
Edit: also, a bit off topic, but it's nice to see another Nurse player on the Nerf Her bandwagon.
1 -
Agreed with this. At the bare minimum, I don't think it's too hard to tweak ratios and it would be healthy for the game. Although I will say that the forums community is pretty terrible when it comes to changes. No matter what gets changed, someone will find a way to mald over it.
I would like to see more iterations of changes backed by data. Yes, people will find a way to be angry, but it shows that the devs are trying.
On a side note, I play nurse and agree that she's OP, but I don't want her to be nerfed.

For the topic at hand:
Nerfing survivor perks will need more reworks then anything else:
2nd chance perks are fundamentally the best perks in the game as they prevent the natural slowdown the game has while also keeping you alive.
So without a rework 2nd chance perks will always be the best unless they are nerfed into being useless which is just as bad.
For nerfing killers:
There will always be a new "Nurse/Billy tier" killer survivors will complain about no matter what making nerfing them at this point ultimately pointless as people will just go down the que.
Hay the moment they Announced HP nerf the community just went to Death Slinger and it will continue on Ad Nauseam until there is no killer left who has any real power or people playing killer.
For buffing survivor perks:
You really can't bring perks up to the tier of 2nd chance perks without breaking the game due to the inherent game breaking nature of 2nd chance perks.
For buffing killer perks:
Generator slowdown and detection are king due to how fast the game is and how much momentum the killer needs at all times. So buffing the weaker slowdown/detection ones is easy.
Its hard to make more niche ones usable when the meta demands endless slowdown/detection perks to even stand a chance against non potato survivors.

I still completely disagree with nerfing Deathslinger. Comparing him to Pyramid Head and saying they're basically the same is just wrong.
Yes, they both capitalise off windows and pallets to get hits. So does Huntress, who is also fine.
Differences; Huntress and Deathslinger both move at 110 to counter their ranged capabilities, Pyramid Head does not.
Huntress and Deathslinger have harsh limits on their powers (reloading), Pyramid Head does not.
And out of all of them, Deathslinger is the only one that still gives you counterplay AFTER he's landed a shot on you. You can move behind things, your teammates can free you.
Deathslinger doesn't need a change, people just need to accept that they aren't getting a popup window to ask them if they'd like to be hit by the spear or not before each shot.

Weird thing. When it's easy - you call it boring. When it's hard - you call it unfun. What is fun for you exactly?
2 -
So i mained nurse for a long time, even after her rework, but i dropped her because of her bugs. I actually got ~1k hours and although i agree with OP, that she's the best killer in dbd, i don't think she's op, i think she's very clunky and unfun.
My above statement is only true while ignoring unintended bugs.
1 -
Part of my issue that I have trying to wrap my head around is why would someone who mains the nurse want her power to be completely changed when her power is her identity?
The nurse's blink and her ability to go through walls is what makes her iconic and how would you rework her power to remove its "Game Breaking" issues without destroying the nurses identity and thus more or less removing her from the game?
1 -
I kinda like the new mind breaker, definitely a step up now that it affects gens at all times. Other than that you are pretty much spot on.

because you are not the one that decides these things, and you do not have all the facts. you believe they did this becuase of x, y and z...when they had data that says it needed to be done for reasons A, b and c. Just because you and everyone you know think they are doing this wrong doesn't mean they are. you are just upset that your favorite thing got nixed and what not. give it up, learn that there is more data that you don't even know and you know about 1/50th of what you believe you really know. I've seen 5 streamers today say discordance needed to be changed and now it works better. and two of them are survivors only, and 2 are legion mains! I've seen 4 streamers say they loved the MacMillian changes! And when I said people don't like them they said what are they smoking??!! So what you know is not close to the whole and that is why you will never understand anything the devs do NOR will you even come close to accepting them because you don't have the information the devs have on hand that you claim to know.

Yeah it's comparable with old freddy, no good freddy wanted the rework.
3 -
Man, Old Freddy was so fun if you knew how to play him and got good skillcheck RNG.
The falling asleep invisibility mind games; Old Nancy's Masterpiece and Nancy's Sketch for Sniper Freddy; the basekit free slow down to asleep Survivors; using Red Paint Brush, M&A, and thick mist to jumpscare sleeping Survivors.
Good times.
Best part of it was that nobody could complain, because you were playing Freddy and everyone knew he was 'garbage'.
-
You're right, Nurse doesn't deserve that.
She can be OP when the game works correctly and you're good at her, but changing her enough to really matter would just be a middle finger to that unique playstyle.
This game needs more wildly different Killers like Nurse and Old Freddy, not less.
1 -
My experience with Nurse has been pretty different than yours. On Console, Nurse players pretty much don't exist. Nerfing her will only hurt that portion of the Community more.

If the devs changed every single perk and killer (seeing how those two that can be changed)...
1) it would be too much to track what "is good" and what "is bad"... the devs are showing us that they are capable but it would be to much
2) While I do agree with what OP is bringing up... I disagree with how the OP has went about it
2A) Here are my counter arguments:
Discordance was unexpected but needed it (also it's a buff IMO)
Huntress Lullaby should only work on Repair and Healing (seeing that those two things are the most important for survivors)
Pop only had a time reduction (not a nerf)
Thanataphobia is touchy right now... they did want to change it but giving bigger numbers would only increase the slowdown when stacked with Dying Light and on Forever Freddie
The perks that were buffed are some of the ones with little to no use so the buffs fit... now players might use them more with means more data for the devs to make more changes
Now players can use the perks that work for them... and if their data shows more they'll make more changes
