Each new RIFT is technically FREE, stop your moaning!
Each event to my knowledge costs 1000 auric cells, now providing you reach tier 70 (which is easily achievable for regular players) you get the 1000 auric cells back as a reward.
Providing you don't spend your newly acquired auric cells, you then use them for the next new event which costs 1000 cells.
I can't see any valid reason to complain about the events when you get given back the cells it cost you in the first place!!!!!
Now that aside there are plenty of other never ending issues that they cant seem to tackle, fix or get right in a timely manner, but hey that's why they put this forum in place.

The rift is not an event.
Events are free like the bbq event, the moon event, christmas event and old halloween event.
So I don't get this thread.

You do realize those auric cells are a bug, and its most likely not ok to use them right? Also we can't complain about a product we didn't pay for? Free games always listen to concerns about their game even though it costs no money yet bhvr can't take critique for events? Stop trying to speak for bhvr they can speak for themselves

What event?

im not referring to the bugged auric cells, each rift costs 1000 auric cells, for that you get a bunch of cosmetics and your original 1000 auric cells (paid back in chunks)

thanks, changed the title. Just out of curiosity, how was the old halloween event different from this one?

Sure it's free...if you pay into the system in the first place, and now you have an obligation to finish every single battle pass or else you feel like not only like you're gonna miss out if you don't, but now that you've paid for it you don't want to pay for it again when you know you can get your money back if you grind it out every time. So it's not free, it also replaces most of if not all of your reasoning for continuing to play, even if you don't want to

Im not talking about the bugged auric cells, which by the way were donated by me and some others, we just didnt know we were donating them!

You still gave them real money for imaginary money. When the you finished the rift did they give you your real money back?

they sure didnt, youre right I got imaginary money, well kind of because they took all of my imaginary money too :(

very valid points, you forgot to mention all of the time you sacrifice too!!!!!

You were able to unlock a blighted skin by collecting serum from the rift. And you did not have to pay for the rift pass to have access to the serum. So yes, the previous Halloween event was free. Comparing this event to the previous two? All we are getting is the same medkits and flashlights provided from the previous two events, 2 new add-ons, offerings that were available in previous two events, and cosmetics we have to pay for.

You could get Free halloween skins if you played the game, double bp, first one I participated was boring since most people will just harvest and die.
But last year you were able to again get halloween skins for free, double bloodpoints plus the petals if I remember correctly.

Damn that sucks, the old event sounds a lot better!!!!! This is my first year playing

Now you see why this year is bad? There is nothing just the extra points from the "event"

Aw man you should have been here for the first Hallowed Blight event. It was so much better than this. You got 2 out of 6 new outfits for free and there was something in game other than gens to do. Oh and the Blood points omg it was crazy. I miss it so much. :(

So where can you cash out your money? Which for me is $15?

Why is there always someone who feels obligated to act like a lawyer ?

If anything the old hallowed blight event was very relaxing as killer. Gens weren't popping left and right because survivors wanted that serum. It felt like you didn't need a met a killer and you weren't on the clock.

I don't have enough time to pay for the rift to make it worth my while. I'm fine with that.
I don't like the way they implemented the blight skins :/. The devs probably have very little control over decisions such as these. I smell corporate suits...
I do recall them saying that the rift was going to eventually replace events. I maybe be remembering incorrectly...

You are refering to the tomb, not the event.
Sure if you decided to play and no life the game for X amount of time you could get every tier and not spend any cells to then use on the next battle pass to get it for "free".
Problem resides that if you either:
A.) Have a life, as in work, or have to take time away for some other reason.
or
B.) Do not want to grind the game for a month or two straight, especially players who don't avidly play this game
If either are the case, you are incentivized to buy tiers because how strict time is for it. Played avidly during a time period of at least a month and STILL had to use cells to buy tiers and even then I only actually finished the last tier with 3 days remaining.
Legit to anyone looking at the battle pass, I would recommend you unlock as much as you can that way if the rift is going to close and you are only on tier 50, you can rest assured that you didn't waste your money, while if you are basically done with it you can then buy it knowing for 100% fact that you will get everything if you buy the battle pass.
