Disappointed, but still hopeful for the future.

By the title alone I think we know where this is going.

So, I don't want to beat up Bhvr too hard about this nor do I want to pretend this isn't bad. (Sorry Bhvr.) Let's talk about the updates first, we are all experiencing some frustration from these recent updates that have been pushed out. Bugs, lag, nerfs, or unreasonable buffs. Apparently there was a shadow nerf to a certain killer perk, I don't know too much about unfortunately. Not saying that it didn't happen.. Unrelenting was shadow nerfed in the past. Which is.. bad. Not going to lie about that. I do wish they would tell us about that before they made that change. But, let's look at this before I continue.

They're trying to put the game in the right direction and I'm happy about that. The most prominent thing they've done was the Ruin nerf that changed how most killers played. Which is fair, they nerfed survivors, changing the look of the game which I love, and just generally fixing what needs to be fix. I DO understand that they messed up on a couple of things here and there. And a lot more recently.. lot of gaming industries do that, no one is perfect. They're trying, I haven't noticed any real signs of them just giving up. Everything is difficult right now, we're in dark time this year. Nothing is easy for all of us and I bet it isn't easy for the developers for Bhvr either.

I want to give them the benefit of the doubt on this one, thanks to Covid, development hasn't been easy, this is where it got real rocky. That wasted the developer's time and resources. Which required them to spend most of their time working at home, it sounds nice. But, if I have to be honest. I don't think home is a good work space for a game this big. For a lot of many reasons. Resources, communication, and testing on their own part. (I know people have made games separated from their team and at home.) Bhvr is used to working under a close space, which has all those things they need at the ready, but thanks to Covid, they were forced to change their work environment. Which could have been a huge factor for all these shoddy updates. Again. It hasn't been easy for all of us. So I want to give them that.

What really makes me upset is the Halloween update. This really upset me, I honestly can't think of why they did it this way instead of the 2019 version. It could just been updated (maybe polished) and reused, it's a simple event, but it's a fun one. Unfortunately this seems more like a cash grab. (Sorry Bhvr, but it really seems like it.) I understand making Ghostface the only one you have to buy, I think we can all agree to that, but all of them? Most of the success was from the fact that you could have earned two sets. The other ones would then be locked unless you bought them. That was what made the 2018 and 2019 event perfect. I'm thoroughly upset, I highly doubt they'll change it. I just hope they don't do this again next year.

But, I'm still hopeful. Again, I haven't seen any signs of them just flat out giving up on us. Someday things will get better and we can all enjoy this game.

What do you all think?

You would think they would do extensive testing on each and every platform before releasing things but it’s clear they don’t.

I've lost all hope of bhvr not making stupid decisions. And the game is only getting more and more buggy and unplayable.

I'll say that my experience since Blight released has been not very great. Poor framerate on PS4 Pro, ABYSMAL matchmaking/bad etiquette against low level killers (like 1 perk, no add-on, level 1), bad sport dc-ers...

Atleast the gens look nice, I guess.

Unfortunately Friday the 13th is dead, otherwise i would rather play that game instead of DbD.

This game isn't worth any hope anymore.

But i do hope that they will get some serious competition soon so that they have to actually try again

Yup the Lawsuit took care of that. I really liked F13 and you could see the love for the series and the effort put in by the team. It's just a shame we didn't get all the content they spent money on mocaping and creating.
