My question is why do this again? And are they gonna do it again next year as well until people stop complaining? They did this last year or the year before and people complained and they had to change it. So why make the same “mistake”?

I have not had much of a chance to really follow DBD much recently. Someone wanna explain to me what's wrong with this year's halloween event? It really seems like people are rather upset with this one in particular.

It's nothing but halloween skins that you pay for (or for an obscene amount of shards equal to 200 hours).

The past event added new objectives a event currency to get 6 pieces of a skin and required you to live to get the full reward and it was spoopie. This one just added pumpkins on a gen not to mention they canceled the bbq event to people were looking for a change to be dissapointed

This is what I want to know! All I can think is they are deliberately trying to push us to our breaking point and then "make up for it" with a half-assed offering so we'll be happy with the barest minimum we get. They want to know how far they can push us and we'll still support them. I dont know if theres anything they can do to win me back at this stage...

I would atleast be happier if you could harvest the flowers every trial for some fun/BP instead of it being locked behind 3 challenges. Pretty much like the anniversary crowns.

As per typical Q&A stream fashion, 25% of questions couldn't be answered or just had no further detail that could go into regarding them, which if that's the case, just answer them here on the forums next time rather than wasting two minutes per question rambling about something you're not gonna give us any more information on.
Another 25% of the questions were unimportant, like "How do you obtain licenses", "What about a statistics page" and questions along those lines for example which i'm almost certain have been answered before, especially back during the Deathslinger PTB/Chapter Q&A.
Where and when will the criticism of the Halloween Event be addressed? But I suppose just use Damage Control by announcing a weekend-long Bloodhunt, because that'll make everyone happy.
EDIT: I do see another forum post saying Mathieu said they're gonna be doing something but I must've missed that part somehow, if anyone could clip or link that i'd be more than welcome to give it a watch.

Hopefully our cries have been heard. They addressed the event at the very start of the dev stream. Hopefully something will be done to make us feel this Event in time for everyone to not have a sour taste in our mouth.

They didn't need to repair this "event" / listen to the community in the first place if they didn't release a sh*t event to begin with.
Who in their right mind was content with how it is now, when an event like halloween is a big thing in a HORROR game. It's a great chance to shine as a HORROR game during this period of the year. The person who made that decision should be fired, imo.

No, you didn't. Bloodhunt is a separate thing, unrelated to the other (currently unknown) changes they're going to make.

I don't think that spending a little bit of time reading criticism and preparing a response would take up too much time over fixing bugs. Wouldn't addressing the situation be moreso something for the Community Managers to take care of? Even if they simply said something like "We acknowledge the complaints regarding the event and we'll have a more detailed response in a few days" would be better than nothing at all. I get this is probably a sarcastic comment but in case it isn't, that's my thoughts.

I would be surprised if they didn't see the backlash. The forums were on fire, Twitter was spaming images of the serum, their Discord chat was angry, Reddit memed the hell out of them, brutal stuff. Here's hoping they actually do something good with the feedback lol.

I'm looking forward to hearing about any changes that they make, and I'm also excited about the upcoming bloodhunt. Hopefully, they can make the event worthwhile to play because, in all honesty, there isn't much of a reason to be playing it right now.

I want to go ahead and say regardless of whether they actually do something about this or not, I'm incredibly proud of how everyone handled the situation. We all knew when to put aside our differences and raise our voices against.. whatever is going on in behavior's head. This is the one good thing that came out from all of this.

Nothing. It's the same event as always but with 3 new items. They got rid of the old system which allowed you to earn free cosmetics also. Now 1 Halloween cosmetic is tied into the rift since that is the system we will use from now on. Oh yeah and 2 free Halloween charms, 1 Halloween charm you need a code from twitch streamer s from, and 1 Halloween charm from twitch rivals. So 3 items, 4 charms total, same blight event as usual, and a bunch of skins. Double BP weekend starts next week also.
It's just a bunch of people salty they aren't getting free swag. That's all it boils down too. The event is fine. Cosmetics awesome. Free charms. Blood hunt. Just ignore everyone honestly.

This. I'm relatively new and I can't even play on PS4, so I can't participate in the event. Can't try out all the killers and survivors I purchased, and if I can get into a game (killer only, can't get into a survivor match), I get bullied by BM sweat squads.
Framerate needs fixed. Matchmaking needs fixed. I just want to be able to play either side of the blade, much less participate in the event.

Why? It's their flagship holiday and they just pissed away any goodwill. Giving the common PR response "We've heard you" doesn't mean anything. Did it for Hillbilly nerf?

Basically the event itself unlike the previous Halloween events are now not offering the usual free cosmetics instead they are all locked behind a pay wall. Which in itself is stupid but then they're giving out free charms. As if that's an okay alternative. One of which you can only get from some dbd content creators. Which is ok until you realise pc players can literally copy and paste the required codes and type fast where as console players have to somehow manage to type very long codes in before pc players. They're also introducing a universal killer add on but unlike the survivors universal add on you can't use past the event which is extremely unfair. The rift is another thing. People, myself included think that this rift is extremely poor in quality and is just cash grab like the Halloween skins. That's about it but yeah dbd have screwed up pretty bad...again.

Can we get you hired on dbd? At least you understand the fact the game is HORROR and that Halloween is an important time for the game. Whereas as the devs just don't. Remember last year? They tried to pull similar crap.
