Console Only Dwightcrow Codes

I just wanted to say, I am typist with a 60 GWAM typing speed, and it took me 17 tries to get a Dwightcrow code on PC. From what I have seen watching a few streamers, there doesn't look like there are console only codes. A console player could never hope to compete with the hungering hoards of PC players competing for charms. Am I misunderstanding the situation, or am I correct in my observation? And if so, there really needs to be some console only codes so they have a chance at this too.

Edit with Suggestion from the Post: The way a number of people in the community seem to have suggested is that the code work for a limited time after it is first activated/entered. Possibly having given the Fog Whisperers less codes, but have them work for everyone who watched. This can still be done. 1-2 Extra codes, for Halloween and the day before, that work like t hat, and I can almost promise more people will be watching their favorite streamers.

That's pretty much it. But its a charm so who cares... It only helps to drop the framerate more on PS4...

I did it extremely quick yet I still couldn't get one. I don't even care about the charm I just like to collect things lol

I care, and this is something they may not have thought of. That is why it is important to bring it to their attention, rather than accept defeat. The beautiful thing about positive nihilism is, even if we tried and it was a waste, it was better than not trying.

They acknowledged this exact problem nearly 2 months ago and yet here we are.

You may care but DBD not so much. They already did codes like this couple months ago on Twitter. Console folks complained about how we had no chance against pc players in entering limited codes like this and they acknowledged that it wasn't good and they'd try new methods. Now they're doing the exact same thing with codes but actually worse because these are limited time charms rather than cosmetics that could be bought in the store, so it shows a lack of care from DBD for console players. Console players are basically ignored or brushed off by DBD when we bring up issues like console performance or the disadvantages console has to pc in gameplay or these codes. We are just given empty promises over and over.

I mean I'm on console and understand the frustration, but are people actually worked up about charms? No one really stares at the hooks and on survivor you can barely notice them.

Why would you make a charm that has a 20 character code to enter with dashes and everything then only allow each code to only have 10 uses.

Anybody on a console can hang up the hopes of getting this charm unless you plug in a keyboard to your xbox load up dbd, literally sit in the store on dbd in the redeem code section then load up twitch on your phone and dedicate x amount of hours watching someone else play the game while you just sit and wait for them to drop a code.

Then hope to god all the keyboard warriors on pcs dont just copy and paste the code.

I mean besides the few lucky people who get one, this charm is for the no lifers and its sad that the requirements to grab this charm are almost impossible unless your willing to dedicate hours to getting it.

This is a big fail on BHVR part since pc players have an enormous advantage when it comes to entering this code.

I like the idea of a rare charm kinda like legacy skins from back in the day but theres no way to get it. Youtube is out of the question cause the codes there are gone the minute its uploaded, leaves your only option is twitch.

Would have been smarter if each code worked for 10 minutes with unlimited uses and not 10 times.

I mean theres 100k plus people playing this game across all platforms. 10 minutes of unlimited downloaded would still make it rare. I mean you have to have no life to obtain this or be very very lucky.

I give up and wish the rest of you guys good luck. Im not spending all day watching other people dbd hoping that i beat the key board warriors.

Good job on the charm its one of the only decent ones in the game.

It's a 32 character code. With dashes. And on console, with a keyboard plugged in, one mistype and I have to totally start over.

Ten minutes would've been a lot better. Or 1k or even 100 uses. But 10? That's not nice on their playerbase at all.

The entire Halloween event is really underwhelming. Especially for me since this is my first Halloween event. But I am mainly really puzzled with the Dwightcrow charm.

Dwightcrow, well, is how it sounds. It's a charm as Dwight as a scarecrow. Out of all of the charms, I personally think that the Dwightcrow charm visually looks the best. I mean, I don't imagine too many people saying the Candy-Perk Bucket is theirs. I mean, really BHVR? Way to kick off the event!!

When writing the complaint, I by no means am sending any shade to any Fog Whisperers, I think it's more directed towards the devs. King posted something on twitter mentioning that the Fog Whisperers are given what their given and that there are only 10, yes only TEN redemptions for each code. Let me break this crap down:

There are x amount of codes, but I know it's a lot. They can only be redeemed by 10 accounts so there will only be # winners.

The codes will be found in twitch streams. I gotta be honest, I don't waste my time on twitch. YouTube is so much easier honestly. I'd rather watch a 30 minute YouTube video on something super boring then sticking around your average Twitch stream for 2+ hours.

The code is REALLY, REALLY long. So if you even miss one letter, you have no chance.

Keep in mind that 100-700 people are on a fog whisperer's twitch stream at a time, so only a very small few will get the promo and everyone else wouldn't be content.

Like I honestly don't get why that would be a good idea. If you want to give your Fog Whisperers some advertisement for them, then maybe just say 'And don't forget to check out some of our Fog Whisperers!' or another Into the Fog event, I gotta say that alone is better than the Halloween event.

Here are the best alternatives, BH "no more exclusives" VR,

1 - Just get rid of the whole aspect of limited use : make that code active for the next hour

2- Give all the Fog Whisperers active codes until November 4th and let all their supporters redeem it

3- Make other ways to find the codes

cahlaflour just said she will take some of the codes and hold back the last 2 characters of the code to give console users a chance to win. might want to tune into her

The king is also doing that and i even tried for the first code but still wasnt fast enough.

Im not waiting on someone elses stream just to watch them play and wait for a code that i probably wont get anyway.

I would love to have it but i do have a life outside of dbd and i dont have hours to dedicate to this charm.

Many streamers have now started to hide the last 1 or 2 digits of the code and then reveal them after everyone has inputted the rest of the code. Still, probably unfair but this is giving console players a much bigger chance to get the charm.

Now, who we should really feel sorry for are the people with bad internet. They may well be watching the stream a few seconds behind everyone else!

Not only for console players, they should think that people need to work as well, and don't have the luxury of being able to watch some stream and maybe get a code, and maybe it's still valid.

    This is bullshit

understandable. to be honest it's not even really that great. it's a killer only charm and is barely noticeable on the hook anyway

What a great idea! It's just a pain to have so many people at work or doing important things to have to stay and watch twitch streamers drop a code when they feel like enough time has passed since the last drop. I'm on xbox and my fingers could barely handle typing out 'gg' after a match lol :)!

I tried inputting several codes to no avail. Console is just too sluggish, it's only a charm so not a huge deal.

I don’t know if someone has already said this, but I’ve played overwatch for years and they do have limited time stuff like this charm and for sprays they would have it as drops on twitch where you get it in certain hours of watching. I think this would be much easier for the fog whisperers and a lot more friendly to console players.I have no idea how hard this is to setup or anything, but I think it’s a better idea then a really long code for only 10 people.

The sad thing is, I have the charm, but not because I am a fan of any of the fog whisperers on twitch. I watch the ones who upload to youtube, but not a big twitch junkie. What I did was have four open at once and type in each code as they came up. Now me? I am a Tru3, Otz, and OhTofu fan. I got my code from Friskk. I had never even heard of Friskk. But I couldn't get the code from Otz or Tru3 before they stopped streaming, so I stole it from someone who was probably actually a fan of hers. It doesn't help the Fog Whisperers as much as we might like, because it encourages us to not actually watch the stream, but to snipe the codes from any whisperer, while denying their actual fans. After all, if it had just been a 2-3 minute code once the first one gets entered, I could have gotten mine from Tru or Otz and been fine. It took me 17 different codes across a total of 7 different streamers before I got it.

!00% agree i personally think behavior is treating console like second class citizens there no way in hell i will ever compete with a code that long when i have to enter 1 by 1 at a time use lb as well to switch to hyphens and back keyboard this is completely unfair and is a piss poor promotional experience all it does is piss off console players because it show us behaviors only cares for it pc player base and were mud to them

And to everyone who says it not a big deal its just a charm i kind of see this differently it might sound bad but more of lines console players have to be scavengers instead or treated equally if u watch a stream within 2 hours u typically are getting the charm as pc. console could be 50 hours into streaming for a code and still have basically a 1% CHANCE OF LANDING THE CHARM IN 50 HOURS it completely unfair

It's a big deal to me because Dwight's my main and I would really love to have it...

Some streamers are finding ways to make it easier for us console plebs to have a better chance at getting one, but still there's no chance, I've tried three times today and now I'm just sad. Exclusive stuff is stressful, I wish we could all just earn them.
