Survivor sided much?
How will you explain your way out of this? Not only is the blight serum bad on many of the killers, its also not usable after the event, while the survivor items are kept until used.

Killers are already Overpowered with tunneling and camping.

How is it survivor sided? The serum on both sides is garbage. It's not worth using on killers for the stun you get after use, and survivors barely go any faster imo. I've had survivors try use it on me multiple times and they barely gain enough distance.

It's probably because the devs didn't really test the serums and how well they worked on the killers. At least that's the current theory of why it says "may have unknown side effects on certain killers". They're not going to let you keep the serums in killer side in case things go screwy in the future. Nothing to do with sides.

U know most of the time you're using it wrong? That or the horse dies much faster than I'm used to... Like DS op or spirit op are dead horses at this point. This is still recent enough I think. The event is literally happening right now.

That's an interesting statement. I will directly ask, has anyone seen any uh "off" effects on killers? I haven't heard yet. It didn't appear to do anything to Freddy when I used it but I've only been able to use it once

That, I don't know. I'd understand if it was to avoid issues with new killer, but they wouldn't get access to the item anyway. It's clear it was more of a joke type item for the lols, so I'd prefer it just stayed available afterwards. It's not like it's giving anyone free kills or OP strategies being able to bounce onto a wall.

It isn't a statement when looking at some of the more "useless" comments. I guess one of the side effects is on blight, where he gets an extra charge, but it could also be joke text.

Fair point. It was just interesting to see white knight used. I havent seen that one in a while. I'm an out and out sjw so seeing it always makes me laugh.
Agreed! At first I took it as flavor but if there are other cool effects I'm not aware of, I wanna play those. Most of my killers are very low level because I don't like most killers lol

The event flashlight addon isn't balance relevant as it has no superior effect compared to other bulbs.
Therefore it makes sense to allow people to use it all year round.
Don't know the reasoning behind the Blight serum for survivors, though.

Overplayed for a reason, of course. Does that mean we should continue overplaying it? You got lucky, you just barely missed the 5+ posts that came in all ragging on the event. In those posts the double standard of the addons was consistently pointed out.

Oh yes, the game is very survivor sided when almost all maps were reworked to be 90% deadzones, Slinger and TunnelerHead being added, Tunnelling and Camping not effectively punished at all, Mori still not nerfed, many unbalanced addons and perk combos (more-so than DS/UB I'd argue), killer-first priority on DEADicated servers (completely ignoring lowest-ping-first, as it should be) and other things. Mhm.
Please, try playing only survivor, solo survivor. For an entire month straight. No killer at all, no SWF at all - For this duration period.

M8, i have. What i mean't with "Survivor sided" was mostly related to the addons not the gameplay since its a endless arguement. It's quite ironic, because i have never once playing in a SWF squad.

Killers can use this addon infinitly with black wards. Survivors can't, because the addon disappears once you use it. That's the best explanation.

What is even more ironic, is that the real killer from my perspective is my teammates not running BT or doing gens if im camped.
Camping isn't difficult to counter, you will mostly die, but it will still cost the killer 3 gens and the game,(Not much to say about mories, other than it should be nerfed with keys).
If you really hate camping and don't trust your team then i would recomend, DS/Deadhard/Leftbehind and Deliverance with a key and gg.

Survivor can use whiteward with the flashlight+ace in the hole. So im unsure on the "infinity" theory.

No, white ward or ace in the hole do nothing in this case. Once you use the addon, it disappears forever. Just like Brand New Parts, Styptic or the Syringe. Check it out for yourself if you don't believe me.

Ok lets break it down.
Flashlight? lawl seriously? its 8 seconds and mostly for show.
Serum... One time use sprint burst that gives you a bright trail to follow.. requires you to be injured too.
Meanwhile.. put Blighted Rush on Billy or bubba. There's no cooldown needed to start your power after coming out of it. Hook survivors and keep it going... that's not one time use, thats trial wide. Deserves to be event only like the offerings. This is probably the closest thing to having balance in the game the dev has done in a while and you're complaining. Yikes.

The bulb is not a gamechanging addon, though. There is a green addon that does the same thing that the event addon does, but twice as better. The medkit addon and the killer addons are powerful, so they will both disappear over time. I don't see any bias here...

Not even green its a reskinned Tir optic in the actual % increases which is a yellow addon.
That being said idk why the devs don't give specific killers reskinned add-ons like the trapper having a Halloween bag addon that changes bear traps into pumpkin maw bear traps that do the jigsaw box laugh if you get caught in them.

The killer serum is actually effective and changes the gameplay. The survivor items are simply either reskinned existing items or they give the killer an advantage(its much easier to trace a survivor with the blighted trail behind them than one without).
People claim that the stun on the dash is worse than not dashing at all, but those people havent been dashing in straight lines, let alone that the killer can hit during the dash, negating the stun.
Essentially, the answer is that the killer addon is much, much stronger than the survivor addons and make a lot of killers a bit scarier to face during the blighted event because the rest of the event is 0 effort.

I said most killers, and reskins are still better if they are kept. Disagree on how "useless" the medkit serum is after having tested it, its basicly a free level 1 Hope perkslot which can change certain tiles if used correctly. Here is a nice combo Serum+Syringe, and there u go.

Tho i differently agree that the problems with the serums was a litte overtuned, especially if you compare it with the players that wasted their money(shards on the new skins before they were changed to cost 3000 Iridescent shards.

@SCP_FOR_DBD sure. Sometimes long threads like that are really hard to get into and understand what's going on. Ppl are constantly adding in their thoughts and discussions get all over the place. Sometimes a lot of good ideas and discussion is overshadowed and ignored. On what metric is something overplayed then? Is it cuz you and some other ppl talk about something in length?

How exactly does splitting the conversation across multiple posts ensure something doesn't get ignored? The metric for something being overplayed is different for each person, Kamikaze and I both believe the topic is overplayed. Even OP does as they state in one of they're replys. You yourself admit you think the "horse" is being beaten mercilessly.

Yeah I seen a guy use it and the killer was literally BARELY out of lunge range and bringing up the bulb is so pointless it literally is just a cosmetic for the flashlight beam😂😂

1. if this thread was super busy I'd probably be forced to make another to discuss it and clearly something new was born of this thread. We got more ppl thinking about the topic and we have new discussions and ideas

Wait they banned space coconut??? xD, but i don't think the subject is overplayed since i never saw a post about this until now(again im new here), what i said was, that there are some issues that should have higher priority (The Halloween dmg control and those who wasted auric cells/iri shards on the skins). Because the item differences is more of a annoyance than anything.

Killers don’t need anymore items add ons and offerings man. They’re so damn overpowered already it’s ridiculous. Survivors get slammed match after match. It’s not really balanced. Maps are so freaking small it’s almost too hard to do gens in most of these games. Killers are fast, down quickly and can Mori you after one hook? Man. Please complain more about the stuff killers don’t get. Match after match I’m lucky if I get to escape. Hell im lucky if I even get close to escaping. Camping and tunneling and what few chances survivors do have to win a chase only last for so long until you get found again because there so many dead zones.

You joined a day after the flood my guy. Its natural you'd miss most of it. Rest is mostly unrelated but I do agree the devs biggest problem are prioritys.
- In this instance, I admit something good did come of it. However, in the future I'd really rather not have another FNAF or DS or Spirit situation just for the chance of something good.
- Thread was far back because it wasn't the only one. I found like 5 other posts about the event in the meantime.
