PlayStation frame rate issue.
Okay, I see they know about the frame rate lag at beginning of trial. Do they know about the game randomly freezing during the trial? I've done thorough testing and so far the game will freeze for 1-2 seconds when... A survivor unhooked another, another Survivor opens a chest, another Survivor cleanses a totem, completely heals someone off ground etc. It's always when another Survivor is doing an action when the game will freeze for a second. I've had 4 games just last night where I died on the hook struggling. I would be struggling and then freezes... Dead! I did turn off performance boost on PS4 Pro and it's helped a little bit. Also tried turning off crossplay like some say works, didn't make a difference for me. I know this topic is brought up a lot so I apologize

The frame drops on console from specific triggers has been an issue since before the update. There have been multiple posts, including this one https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/187573/console-optimization/p1, where people have listed out the causes on console. Whether or not they'll actually try to fix them who knows. The increased frame drop from this most recent patch made those frame drops from triggers even worse.
Don't apologize for bringing it up. It should continue to be brought up until it is fixed.

No it shouldn't, its just annoying the devs at this point. They already heard and unless they want their arguably biggest platform to yeet itself they will fix this. Until then shut up and wait

Yeah it's definitely happened before the update as well. But it wasn't happening every game at least. Now it's freezing at least 3 to 4 times per game.

Been waiting since clown came out chum

BTW is someone else commenting?! I guess I see right through bullshit 😂

I just see the post getting bumped. 😂

Then you'll keep waiting, it won't be long unless they want ps4 players like me to stay gone permanently

It's truly upsetting. People say it isn't a game breaker, but to me it is. If I'm having a great match and haven't been caught once, bu then finally get caught because my game froze mid chase or my game froze while struggling. That's game breaking! I'm just trying to complete challenges at this point. Rank doesn't mean anything, but I still like to pip as it feels it's an extra achievement but there isn't a point because I'm depipping every game due to bugs.

take my advice: quit the game. With every update, something breaks. Console has been ignored for 3+ years now. I quit recently and it’s been fantastic. I can actually play games that don’t have frame drops and have better graphics. Almost forgot that was a thing

The update definitely made the already crappy frame drop issues way worse. Noticed way more killers have been farming with PS4 crossplay off. Think just trying to atleast get BP without stressing playing a slide show.

Lucky! I've had one farming killer. All the other killers take advantage of the lag and when my games done lagging I have a killer just starring at me like I'm stupid... No bud, my game froze. Congrats you caught a disabled survivor 😂

Dont listen to toxic...just posted a vid today showing it and mod contacted me immediately to pass on info to QA team...so until its fixed...people keep bringing it up -.-

It's mostly been Blights because of the tome challenges but I've had some Spirits, Trappers, and a Freddy. Do you have crossplay off? I feel like it helps because fellow ps4 players understand the struggle. 😂

It’s not just frames being absolutely terrible. DBD actually makes my controller drift worse now. When playing other games like the Resident Evil remakes, it’s there but not super noticeable. My reticle moves a little bit, but usually that zombie still gets a bullet in its head. In DBD, that’s not the case. I can go from looking straight to up or to a side while trying to use my power or while I’m chasing a Survivor. It’s never a slow turn that doesn’t disorient me for a bit.
At this point trying to say that the hardware is what’s causing this is wrong. If you really think it is, then how can you explain the PS4 being able to run so many other newer and better looking games with barely any problems? Better yet, can you explain why this one game causes my controllers to act up more than usual?
They’ve said that for years and barely anything has been done.
