Not having fun anymore
Yo, there is tons of threads in there about tunneling and camping, and how it's legitimate strategy and nothing wrong with that. Lately more posts stating, that it becomes more frequent so I just wanted to share a thought.
I'm, or I see someone else being tunneled ridiculously often. Few days back then I stumbled upon guy with steam profile description along the lines of "I'm camping, tunneling and I don't care what you whiners call me, I'm playing for my fun and I'm not gonna stick to your rules"
So, considering how majority of players thinks it's legit and ok, I feel like I actually should join them in that. I started playing game mostly as killers, so assume I'm killer main (more like 75/25 killer/surv), and apart maybe from the time I was learning the game I wasn't tunnelling consciously, unless guy ran straight onto me.
Recently I started playing surv more often, because I'm playing with friend. Due to constant camping and tunneling I just feel like there is no fun in playing surv, so I'm quitting this side, but I'm thinking about going back to killing. And not the nice guy killer. I've turned bitter, and as I said I feel like joining in what most of killers are doing rn, tunneling and camping. If they said themselves it's not reportable or anything, I'm gonna camp/tunnel people all the time, hoping they'll stop playing. Maybe if number of survs/players plummet, they'll address this type of playing somehow.
Honestly I doubt it, simply looking at forum, seeing threads about keys, moris, perks, addons being unbalanced and so for so long (at least now they admitted they are "looking into" keys and moris, and actually changed few perks for what it's worth)but imma give it a shot anyways.
Summarizing I'm just gonna repeat what most of you already know, that devs' priorities are BS, releasing new dlcs and skins, without focusing primarily on fixing old content, changing graphics instead of game mechanics and working on balance.
Cheers and have a great day.

I would love to see this, but I doubt people will. It's kinda same as with new iPhones, it's usually not worth the money, but people wanna flex on others, so will buy it anyways. So people will keep on buying rifts and skins just to show how different/better they are. And watching forum right now, seeing people crying about price of skins or not getting refunds instead of addressing actual problems is making me sad.

The modern gaming industry in a nutshell. People have grown up exposed to macrotransactions that they see it as something benign and normal.

I think you should concern yourself with Behaviors scummy business tactics than the way others play, but I agree with a strike

It should happen, but never will. Look at every Fifa game they release each year. Each time there's some kind of huge outrage, yet it sells out like crazy. Everyone knows how disgustingly money hungry EA has become with all of their games, but people STILL buy into it. Ubisoft has began to do the exact same with Assassins Creed adding micro-transaction P2W into the single player aspect of the game. Activision has recently done it to Crash Bandicoots own team racing, a game that never had this crap back in PS1. And now BHVR seem to be following suit and becoming the next company to become so money hungry. It's the gaming industry in a nutshell at this point.

gameplay slowdown is a large aspect of killer, either they have perks to help them, use camping and tunneling to make their own, or rely on their own skills enough that just playing the game decently is slowdown enough, Not all players are that good at the game and tunneling/camping is an easier alternative, as game speeds keep going faster tunneling and camping becomes more enticing

Tunneling is boring for me.

A few points, if I may:
- You cannot "strike" against the company unless you are in their employ. You are suggesting a boycott.
- We have all been where you are now, and somehow got through it.
- This is not an effective way of getting the company to listen to you. The "us versus them" mentality rarely goes well.

there is 2 points a view of this . question yourself why you play this game ?
-1 for having fun ?
-2 to be the best as your gameplay (tryhard)
i'm in the 1 so i dont want to play the game eating the grass and or hooked 3 times @ 5 gens and waiting my family to end the game because i dont have much time to play ( Boring and wasting time)

Nice idea however it won't work your mentality will only infuriate others who are really just playing for fun and the best thing to do is just not reward camping let the idiots run for the save but when the killer kills them all and you escape he'll realise his tactic is useless and won't earn him that bonus for no one escaped

Good luck with that.
I tunnel when the situation calls for it, but I will camp any game where I haven't even managed more than a couple hooks by gen 2.
Yes I know, git gud. Unfortunately I hover right where I get red rank swf more often than not. Doesn't seem to matter what I do, I can't catch enough survivors in enough chases. Between safe pallets, godloops, exhaustion perks, and flashlights, sabotaged hooks, keys. Honestly I don't know why they bother bringing toolboxes into the game when they use map offerings for Coldwind, Autohaven, Macmillan, etc. 3 out of 4 games.
If I don't get railed I will avoid camping, but those games are few and far between lately.

Killer is funer anyways your making good choice

I've noticed that tunnelling is much more frequent the last few days. Played against a Doctor who would only facecamp and tunnel once someone went for the unhook and managed to get a 2k because of NOED. Dude was on azarov's too with pretty bad pallet RNG for us, he definitely could've killed us all if he actually played the game. Killers are getting weirder man. I haven't played much killer recently but I've never felt it necessary to go these lengths to not play the game, but hey, whatever floats their boat I guess. DS and soul guard exist for a reason, and with the new wglf getting people up off the ground safely is quite easy now.

If a killer tunnels and camps in every game, they are probably not very skilled and playing at a low level.
I will tunnel/camp/slug when the situation calls for it, but I'm usually confident enough to leave a hooked survivor and apply pressure elsewhere.
Best of luck with your boycott.

It is kinda weird why we all put so much time and money into a game that's basically hide and seek tag. It's a hard game to try and "talk up" to people that don't play without lying about how much time you spend holding M1 watching a loading gif as survivor or run in the same repetitive loops as killer 😕

Tunneling, camping, DC, suicide on hook ... all good reasons to play on red ranks. Sadly you have to go past this crap to get there, but it get's less the higher you rank.

Yea, of course but I think in those terms there is even less I can boycott considering I didn't pay more than take it or leave it 30$ for base game + few DLCs.
I suppose we can't really blame those devs for sucking their players wallets dry, if majority of those players are willing to waste their money whenever something new is released. Money is more important then happy fanbase, it's just disappointing that people still fall for the same thing over and over again, definition of insanity, wasn't it? Doing the same, but expecting different outcomes.
1. Yea, this is what I meant, I'm not native eng, but thanks, will remember :p
2. Yeah, but that's quite the point you see. Most of you have been there, many of you probably still are and you're taking whatever devs throw at you without a grunt or anything? Not doing anything and accepting things as they are aren't gonna do much either don't you think?
3. Perhaps, but I didn't receive any alternative in that term. Are you suggesting that every boycott/strike in history was useless? Isn't boycott some sort of entry to revolts and so?
Soul guard is from paid dlc though, isn't it? So unless it appears in shrine I doubt I'll have opportunity to get it other way. Also it's quite situational perk, if killer isn't playing hex you're basically wasting perk slot, isn't it?

Well there's nothing that can really be done about tunneling and camping because most of the community doesn't have a complete consensus on what it is.
Is there are people who think pigs chasing them when they have a reverse bear trap on is tunneling.
There are people who think as long as decisive strike is still activated when they go down they were tunneled regardless of if the killer hooked other people or not.
If you want a changing to tunneling and camping make sure there is a consensus about what that actually is first because you can't have people calling tunneling in wishy-washy situations.
As for your protest let's call it that's not a good thing if you're actively planning on just ruining the fun of other people you're part of the problem not the solution.
Play better and make the game fun for the people you encounter when you are a killer if you make it actively worse then you're legitimately the problem regardless of your cause. However as long as you're not doing anything that is bannable you're free to do whatever you want

I'm frequently around 6-4 rank as survivor, and I honestly think I've met less tunnelers/campers in lower ranks xP Unless there is really change on ranks 3-1.

Not really a waste of a perk slot even if you aren't cursed, the endurance effect is still very good and many killers still aren't playing around it, only the good killers are and they rarely tunnel in the first place so it's still really useful, especially against the ones that will immediately try and re-slug the survivor that got picked up. It is paid DLC though, so unless you're willing to fork over some cash or wait maybe another 6 months or so to even get the chance to see it in the shrine you're out of luck. The new WGLF is also something I highly recommend running, the double healing speed for people who are slugged on the ground is actually soooo nice. I run We'll Make It sometimes and you can literally pick people up off the ground in less than 5 seconds. There are some really nice options for healing synergy for survivor right now and it's sort of my main playstyle now in my group. Empathy, desperate measures, autodidact, wglf, we'll make it etc. As an M1 killer it's probably a nightmare to keep up with survivors getting turbo-healed.

I suppose most people with common sense understand tunneling as being followed as soon as you're unhooked, and instead of choosing unhooker you focus plainly on unhooked, not minding body blocks or anything.
Oh come on, who still believes in doing good brings good back? I played as killer quite often to try to hook everyone twice, but let them escape and you won't guess how often I was met with teabagging at gates or toxicity in chat after game.
Imo a lot of DBD players are brain-dead toxic players with superiority complex. If giving them what they deserves hurts innocent ones in the process I suppose it will be necessary sacrifice.

I never said doing good brings good back what I meant was at least you're making people's experience better because they're not facing constant camping and tunneling at least they have a few good matches sprinkled throughout

4-1 is better. I had a lot of good matches with proper team mates yesterday on 4 but dropped to 5 today and immedietly had matches with people DC, suicide, crouching across map instead of doing gens and so on. I am buffled every single time when im on the hook and i see that the killer seems to be in a chase with 3 people simultaniusly on the other side of the map. Two run in the same direction for the closest pallet and one is hiding behind a rock waiting for the killer to leave his chunk of the map, while you are on hook. Luckely i got back on red ranks today. There is a noticeable gap in skill and teammates you get paired with as soon as you hit or leave red ranks.
Facing red rank killers isn't alway's fun. I HATE these last milisecond hit's before the drop, or being hit while already vaulted and with a huge gap between me and the killer. But at least your team get's stuff done. Much less annoying and frustrating to play.

The problem with the devs and management is they keep nerfing survivors based on the top 1% of survive with friends groups and not majority of players. I understand that this is a killers game, so they cater to people’s devious nature, but the game just isn’t fun as survivor once you near higher ranks... vault hits, camping killers, and bad decisions make the game not fun. For example, they re-worked Freddy to make him a better killer... but let him keep his overpowered lunge. With them not punishing toxic killers and giving them considerable advantages over survivors has stopped me from playing the game anymore. The devs don’t even know how to spell balance....

Your point is invalid... you will very rarely escape if your teammates reward the camping. And more often times than not, the killer will at least 2k by just camping alone, whether you reward or not....
0 -
You won't escape but your team might if you hold on to that hook it takes two minutes to die on hook and only a couple of seconds to do a gen so by hanging on you're forcing the killer to choose loosing gens or loosing a hook to stop gens most killers give up when they see gens popping all over the map

I agree it is an annoying strategy, but yeah it's a legitimate strategy.
That goes for an example the survivors side when they decide to gen rush (yes it does happen but not as often), it's a legitimate strategy on their side.
Is camping, tunneling, gen rushing fun?
Nope not at all, except maybe for the person(s) who does it.
As killer I don't apply that tactic as I would get bored to death doing that same thing game after game.
But i will never try to join them in their playstyle, not even to make a point.
I still have my own honour and will stand by it, even if every other killer will tunnel and camp.
When i play survivor however, I don't mind getting tunnelled as long as my team just keep doing gens.
About 95% of the time I get tunneled, the killer loses the game and I love getting chased.
But the only way the devs can change this is to reward the killer for fresh hooks and new chases.
If not than i don't think it will ever change.
And they should take away the punishment the killer gets when a survivor heals back to full.
Like why is the killer even being punished for that?
That kind of a punishment also contributes to tunneling, cause that way they can't heal and the killer don't get punished.
