Chapter 18 speculation
So with the mid chapter being out we all know we will be getting teasers but there’s one thing I want to ask. Will this killer have a original power cause the last couple killers we got all have rehashed powers. Blight is just Billy, Legion and Oni but you bump into walls. Oni is just Billy and Myers combined. Deathslinger was unique but his power was just huntress and Legion combined. I hope that this next killer will have a very unique power what are your thoughts?

They've already confirmed that they're adding Garfield in the dev stream about licenses.

With the recent killers I agree but they did make one killer that was very unique that was PH but then we got rehashed powers

With all the killers we have it's hard not to compare powers and at this point it'd be pretty difficult to come up with a unique power that couldn't be compared in some way to the other killers.
Like go ahead and try to come up with a power that somehow couldn't be compared to any current killers in someway. There is still the doppleganger power which would be unique but likely awful in practice and that's about all that comes to mind as something completely unique though I'm sure there are a few more.
Flying could be compared to teleporting killers like Freddy, Demo, or Nurse but it's in the air. Fire could just be said to be another range attack power and the list goes on.
Personally, I would like a licenced chapter and I assume it'll be Candyman which will have some kind of bee related thing which could be neat?
Original killer wise I would prefer something fire related. Unique or not I think it'd be cool to light survivors on fire.

I want a female killer. But I doubt we get one. I think Plague was the last one?

For theme I would love a swamp thing type killer. For power i would love a killer that could do things with lockers like teleport to them similar to freddy perhaps?

As far as I understand, The Demogorgon is more if an "it" than a he. I don't think it has a gender - it's a monster from another dimension. That's why we got a male and female survivor with the Stranger Things chapter, as we *normally* get a male surv with female killers and vice versa. The Blight and Felix kinda changed that though. Not saying your wrong or anything, it has been awhile since we've got a female killer.

Demogorgon has an unknown gender, we just refer to demodog as a boy but he could also be a she....or have no gender

I'd like to see another female killer though. The last one we got was Plague.

What I mean is those 3 killers run fast Hillbilly runs fast with his chainsaw, Oni runs fast with his dash and Legion runs fast with his frenzy

Any power could be compared to currently existing if it fulfils similar purpose.
As for "unique mechanics" - power that creates minions, power that locks survivor's camera on killer&makes it 2-3 times harder to look away and forces to break LoS or allow killer to lock his camera on survivor for a few seconds until survivor breaks LoS or few seconds pass so that killer does something to that survivor

I feel like it's going to be a licensed chapter. I think I remember them saying in a stream they try to shoot for 2 original chapters and 2 licensed chapters in a year, and we've had 2 original chapters and 1 licensed chapter this year. Who this licensed killer might be, I have no clue, but I like to think it might be another one from a video game.

Me personaly would love to see the scissorman from the ps1 game clock tower. I feel this game fits the lore well and ya its not gonna be as exciting as chucky or a cynobot from hell raiser but could be a intresting fill-in with pretty cool map and new set of perks..

The latest battlepass has at least three sets related to space, so it might be something sci-fi-y. Plague's set mentions the moon, Kate has some sort of cosmic top and Jake gets some kind of astronaut suit.

The devs did say after blight they're working on another original killer. On stream I think they said they do two original chapters then 1 licensed chapter.
I actually hope the next killer is a horse riding one. Or another female killer too it'd be pretty neat to have another join the roster

We need a new killer where their base speed is 120%.

I agree we have basic killers with 115 that M1, 110 killers with special powers that are very strong but no killers that are over 120 they should make a killer that speed

I think if they put Chucky in the game I don't even think I'll play with them much or any other character.I can barely play with any of the existing characters but I know other people want all of those other characters I'm content with Pyramid Head.

I recently shared my speculation on a discord server.
(This speculation is not based on any leaks, it's just a wild guess)
I think the next chapter is going to be an original chapter. Don't know why, but I just have a feeling (that is most likely wrong).
My guess is that the killer will be a witch. A woman who was unjustly murdered during the witch trials, got picked up by the enitity and made into an actual witch.
Yay for tragic backstories!
As for the map I thought of a burnt down version of an 18th century town square with a graveyard section.
As for the survivor I had in mind: a young media personality who likes to explore "haunted" areas and film them. The type of guy who fakes reactions and edits in spooky stuff.
I think it'd be ironic to have such a character actually be abducted by the entity. Could bring some fun perks.

If you treat it like that, put Nurse, Freddy and Demo also on the list. And saying Slinger is like Legion just because of causing the same status effect is also kinda unfair. Each killer has a pretty unique playstyle as and vs tbh. And I'd rather like having mechanics reused in a unique way rather than having new mechanics implemented that break the game in various spots with bugs and unintended side effects

I've been noticing oddities with the skyboxes in recent updates, especially the midchapter. They're tinkering with them but they aren't mentioning it. I suspect the next killer will involve a flight mechanic.

Y'all are so quick and desperate to say that new killer powers are a mix of old killer powers. But when you're in the devs position, I doubt your ideas would be any better.

I feel like nemesis is more likely. Idk why, but I extremely doubt an animatronic would be added to the game. Probably cause it generally seems to run contrary to the lore of DBD.
