Should I use object of obsession?

is it a good idea to use object of obsession on solo? Or am I crazy for thinking this?

I actually highly recommend to use object of obsession in solo. The reason I occasionally use it in solo is because matchmaking is still horrible and probably will be for who knows how long, even when it does work and I get paired with red ranks they seem to last very shortly in chases which hurts the team. If you want to get better at chases I would slap it on if I were you, best of luck!

No, it's considered toxic and you will get tunneled/camped/moried if you use it without a SWF to back you up. Don't use it in a SWF either because it's busted af if you do, that's like using Iri head on Huntress it's just toxic and super unfun.

Well I do wanna get better at chase. Do you really recommend this?

Object is fine in solo as long as you’re confident in your ability to extend a chase, and prepared for some killers to get really angry at you for running it and others to completely ignore your existence. I usually use it with an exhaustion perk, DS and Kindred the rare times I run it. Then if I get camped and tunnelled the damage is reduced a bit.

i mean, if there is one thing i cant disagree on from Almos view on it, its that the Object user usually dies.

if you wanna piss off the killer, use it. you better be damn good at the game though.

if you wanna survive, no. avoid this perk and anyone that runs it at any cost.

I have seen way more iri head huntresses than ooo users in red ranks, so no. He should use to to annoy entitled killer :)

I use it in solo all the time because my teammates can never last more than 5 seconds in chase. It does get you tunneled but that doesn't bother me too much. I enjoy the chase unless it's like Deathslinger or Freddy.

OoO will always get you tunneled. If you can't loop, you're dead, if you can, prepare for some ######### talk in the chat. Definetly do not recommend.

Sure if you are good in looping.

People here say OOO will always get you tunneled but thats not the case. Its either a 50% you will get tunneled or the killer will avoid you as much as possible.

I run OOO a lot and killers will often just ignore me I havent met a lot of killers that got deep tunnel vision on me if I am honest, this perk can really backfire however against a good nurse or Spirit as they got more control then you do in chases

Well, on a very basic level people are free to use it. It´s rightfully frowned upon though like other broken stuff in the game.

Imagine thinking you are better then them if you think that way.

That being said, nothing is toxic. Use whatever you want but dont complain if the other side also brings strong things.

It’s good for learning how to loop, y’know cuz you will get tunneled 90% of the time

If you are very confident in your looping ability, it can still be a good perk in solo. In theory, even if the killer decides to target you, you'll be effective at wasting their time and your teammates will pound out gens in the meantime. In practice, it's really risky, though. If you go up against a killer with a strong 1v1 or a stealth killer, you're probably going to have a bad time.

Yes if you are good in a chase and can loop the killer for eternity, otherwise no.

I use it in solo all the time. One of two things will happen, you will be ignored, or you will be chased until dead or escaped. The best thing about using it solo is if the killer tunnels you the entire game and you still escape and post game chat they are wah wah wah swf wah wah.

If you're a god looper, it's probably one of your best perks to run - since you will be tunneled and tested.

Do NOT use Object of Obsession solo without Sole Survivor. Otherwise it’s just a death sentence. The killer will presume you are part of a SWF and will want to kill you first. So use the aura reveal cautiously and sparingly. Sole Survivor acts as great insurance for IF teammates die because the more Sole Survivor tokens you acquire, the more powerful Object of Obsession becomes. If you do end up being the last survivor alive you can freely watch the killer at all times without ever giving away your aura.

If you want to, you do you. It is a hard Perk to master, and I wouldn't advise it myself as most people who use it just die. :)

OoO as a solo survivor who isn't a god in chase is a butt ton of pain.

Do it at least once to understand how OoO is meant to facilitate the killer-Obsession interaction. It's a good experience.

Like many others have said, OoO is just anti-fun for the killer. If you don't mind playing that way, go ahead and do it. Don't feel bad about it tho, it's only a game so try to have fun.

Not unless you wanna get tunneled. Most killers see that and tunnel because it's a strong sign of SWF bully squads. If you're going to use it, run all of Laurie's perks with Dead Hard.

OoO tends to attract a lot of heat from the Killer even if you are Solo so you should be up to the task if you want to run it.

I do not consider it toxic tbh, it is just a perk, but it is powerful enough (when used well) so that I will do my best to get anyone with it out of the game as fast as I can :)

Since I cannot tell who is playing premade and who is playing solo, when object is around, I assume it is used to feed info to the other 3, so I prioritize it.. some use that to their advantage tho. Like as a survivor, if you are good at dodging and looping, you can really distract the killer with object and give your teammates a better chance of doing gens.

No, you WILL be tunnelled/camped if you do. Solo or not. The killer can never know if they’re facing a swf or not unless they’re literally facing clan kids or something lol. So yeah most people just assume you’re in a swf if you have object and will just give you a hard time. Plus it’s very unpleasant to face object if they’re playing trap daddy but that’s beside the point.
