The Amanda's Letter add-on for The Pig has been Kill Switched due to an issue with incorrect RBT count.

Can't we all just agree on things?
I've been playing this game for about 2 1/2 years now, I've been through highs and lows throughout the game and I've noticed that killer mains and survivor mains tend to argue about the same things; overpowered perks, maps being role sided, loops, infinites, etc. etc. But nothing is ever done about these things, and the things that are done have downsides and are commonly abuseable, leaving nothing ultimately changed.
I think that, as a community, if we were to come together and push the developers to make changes that both sides can agree on, then the game will become more fun and ultimately have a larger community/lifespan.
All the constant arguing between sides shows nothing except that the community is unwelcoming and in a constant state of division, but if we came together we could make Dead by Daylight and ultimately better game.

I disagree.

The one time I remember both sides agreeing to something was that nurse needed an add on rework. 5X blinks was broken. Yet the devs had to take it a step further. BHVR, great job at keeping two sides at each others throats.

I think a lot of it comes that many people don't play both sides of the game, so they don't fully understand the frustration that the other side feels about the game. Also, there is skill involved in this game and I do hope that the MMR system will help to level out that playing field a bit, then maybe there'll be less disatisfaction with individual matches.
Also, I think human nature does tend to lead to us all having a bit of a moan at times and focusing on the negative more than the positive, however positive we try to be as individuals, the negativity can creep in at times.
Just my opinion though.

More often than not from a mutual maturity standpoint it will most likely end up being a agree to disagree scenario
2 -
never will happen regarding any topic on balance
people are often biased for one side or the other with few that aren't, i consider myself slightly biased for killers and that's from my experience in this game playing certain killers against unwinnable matches and seeing X killer or just general gameplay flaws. survivors see how quickly they get downed or struggle to deal with X thing and that's their experience and since the killer is stronger than a single survivor they often see it not as their team vs that thing but themselves being at a massive disadvantage against X thing. just look at all the death slinger complaints he is good at 1v1's and that's literally it so he can be easily rushed and beaten by a decent survivors but it can still feel unfair to play against him.

I don't think they took the Nurse nerf a step too far. She definitely needed at least a tiny limitation on her actual power. I do think they could've done it better though, they've just started to find out ways of making good cooldown bars. Pyramid Head/Billy and Blight for example. Why not mash the two together in a way? So it's still a "token" system for her blinks, but it's like pyramid head's or Billy's power where you don't need to use up the entire bar and suffer the full cooldown. So here's my idea:
Cooldown rate is the same, each blink is max 50% of the full cooldown bar. If you don't use the entire bar, it starts recharging from that point. If it's past 50%, you can use 1 blink. If you let it go to 100%, you can use 2 blinks again. If this makes sense
Might make people less frustrated with the current token system.

When I made this post, I wasn't only referring to the balances and gameplay side of the spectrum, but the community aspect too. Many decisions are made that the community dislikes overall, and when that happens, people get angry.
Take the most recent Halloween event, it did not go over well with many due to the changes to it (removal of Putrid Serum currency, for example). People want to see the game flourish, but without clear community input the developers won't know what and what not to change, and how, to keep everyone happy, leading to a guessing game where not much can realistically be accomplished without hefty backlash.

The community will always be like that until everybody plays both sides!
But if everybody plays both sides there will be mutual understanding, but disagreements at the same time! Us vs them will always exist in this game, simply because it's human nature!

I play both sides and found myself disagreeing with one side quite often. I don't think that mean anything either.

As long as everyone has their own opinion, nope...
remove people's ability to have opinions and then we can all sing around the campfire together

Honestly if we could just get everybody to agree that Freddy and OoO are unfun to play against, I'd consider that to be a good day.

A lot of people - and I mean a significant majority - just don't realise that they don't need excuses to run strong things. They whattabout this and whattabout that and instead of having an actual reasoned argument they just point at something else and attack it. Or worse, completly ignore any reasoned argument and just say it's all the other side's fault.
Which may sound off-base, but it's not. It's a core issue, alongside not really playing both sides for a significant amount of time. Both breed entitlement. It'd be better for the community if everyone abused the living hell out of the all of strongest things (not just what their own side has), experienced it from all perspectives and realise "oh, wow, this is actually super abusable and not okay."
But people don't, because its easier to stick your fingers in your ears and go "la la la la la" than to admit your favourite toys are broken.

When the forums started seeing more survivors VS killer posts instead of discussing the future of the game and its live service models that's when I knew we were doomed. We were united for a moment but we were quickly shut down by a combination of the mods and the other posters. I'm of the opinion we need to work together to fix this game for the better then go back to killing each other afterwards. I found myself standing with a lot of people I otherwise didn't care for prior to this.

I think we can all agree on certain point like
1- mory the it it is right now is too strong but make them usuable only on a dead hook will make them useless and i waste of time and BP
2- OoO is crazy overpower and this perk need a complete rework
3- DS need a rework too because its stupid that a survivor feel invicible after each hook for a minute and he can still progress the game whitout getting punish
4- key need to change too because just like mori this single item can change the entire game and unlike mori this item can be found in a chest
5- noed need a rework because most of the time the perk reward the camper
6- map offering and hatch offering need to go those offering can make a game in the favor of the party who use it whoever it is and that stupid
7- survivor need a totem counter this will help solo a lot
8- killer need a hook counter just like they did in the hex tournement
9- perk and addon need to stop appearing on the HUD of the survivor what i mean if i hit someone with thana every single survivor know that i have thana i think they should see with the way the game goes if i have the perk or not instead of telling them i have the perk
10- i think spirit should appear every 1,5 sec when she use her power like that this give the survivor some counter play but she could get her collision back for the noob spirit
11- huntress iri addon should get a perk rewording like instead of making the perk lose 4 hatchette the perk should say make the number of hatchette you carry by 1 like that you cant combo the iri addon with the belt addon
12- demo need a addon rework and an noise rework because this killer do more noise than a ######### billy who use is chainsaw all game
From the top of my head those are the thing who need to change the most and will help the game feel better for both party

Everyone playing this game is a human, and humans have different opinions on different topics. So everyone agreeing on everything can never happen.

it would legit be scary.

It wouldn't feel like the dbd forums that I've grown to love...and hate.
0 -
While that would be great, its not happening.
Too many people are too focused on their main side and don't play both sides enough, if at all, to understand how things work. Survivors are too entitled and toxic. Killers get shamed for playing well or just not the way the survivors want leading to them not caring.
Both sides are frustrated with the other side and how long things have been allowed to go on. That's why whenever keys get brought up its "well what about moris" and vice versa. DS, BT, Unbreak, iri hatches, keys, moris, ect.
If the biggest offenders on both sides can't even be agreed upon, what else could be? Even OoO is being defended now.
0 -
I think it could. Do survivors genuinely think keys are fair? Do killers really think that Moris are fair? I think there are some things on which there is a consensus. We could start with those.
To be honest though, as a killer main, I'm not going to run Ruin with Hex Undying and I am sure there are survivor mains out there that feel the same way about running DS and unbreakable.

Depends on the topic being discussed
Cause I do agree on things that need changing but disagree with how people change them
0 -
Let me just preface this with the fact that I would love to be wrong about what I'm about to say and maybe I've just been unlucky with my experience.
From what I've seen in my years in DBD:
A decent amount of survivors think keys are fine because they have to do a few gens and its an item not an offering and find the hatch and *add nonsense here*. I haven't really seen the same argument made for mori's, they are agreed upon to be dumb for the most part. But killers are never going to agree to nerf mori's without keys being addressed.
The survivor side is generally more rock headed than the killer side, for whatever reason that may be, and it's really going to be getting them on board that's going to be a bigger hassle in my opinion. They don't fully grasp basic concepts like the game being 4v1 and that the game encourages tunneling by design (and that should change js). I've seen this behavior in my own friend groups, let alone with the anonymity that comes with the forums and online.
Now don't get me wrong, there is also a decent chunk of the killer base that just wants 4k's and don't understand to be happy with the 3k, as that's a win, among other things.
If we only do what is generally agreed upon, the only thing getting changed would be things on the killer side. Iri hatchets, mori's, Spirit. But DS wont be touched, neither will BT or anything because survivors don't agree they need to be changed. Again, if we can't even agree on the worse offenders what's the point? If we only change things on one side I don't think that's fair either.
I don't run anything particularly crazy on either side nor do I tunnel or do anything toxic, but the same cannot be said for the community as a whole. The worst thing I'll do is play Spirit. So its not like I'm defending any of these things, its just not in this community to get past their own side and consider the other from what I've seen. If it was this post wouldn't exist.
This isn't the first time a post like this has been made and it will not be the last. The two sides just have too much against each other and lack sufficient understanding of he other side. The Survivor bias and killer bias groups are just too large compared to those that sufficiently play both sides and understand both.

As others have said. You can;t take the opinions of someone who exclusively plays one side seriously. And that makes up a sizeable portion of the playerbase.
Content creator or regular player, long time player or relatively new. If they only play survivor/killer their opinion is skewed to the point of literal uselessness.

If we could agree the company we would still play as much as we did, if they took away 90% of the grinding for perks to open up more play, I'd be ok with that.
I believe there are some players that will play this game over 700+ to thousands of hours to unlock all perk combos
But I have to believe, there are more like me, that play on average a game like this 200 to 500 hours, (which lets be honest IS a lot of time) but won't really get to have the freedom of a ton of perk options due to the grind in this game.
I will play this game until a ton of other games come out and my gaming friends all move on. Having to grind perks is not what keeps me in this game. I didn't have to grind perks/abilities in the nearly 600 hours (an insane number for me) in overwatch. or plenty of other games that didn't lock abilities behind grinding.
if the game is fun and good, you don't need to hind abilities behind grinding.
