Why Ninja?

Ok so this isn't a post to bad talk Ninja but just... why him? Like out of all the popular DBD content creators, why did they pick Ninja? I don't really watch him but I've seen clips here and there so idk if he ever plays the DBD or not, but it just feels off that someone like Puppers or Tru3 or another popular creator(just a few examples) that the community has gotten to know is not a part of the stream.

Not to mention that I'm rather worried about how intense Ninja can be, it's true that DBD can be a rather intense game but with the way he will act towards others(the whole Among Us situation with other content creators) I'm worried that it may put off new players that are interested in the game. There will for sure be some new people as we are talking about a popular streamer and an actor from a highly popular show. I just don't feel like Ninja was a good choice for the stream is all. What do you guys think? If not Ninja then who would you guys like to have seen play with Gaten and the devs?

Yea I am terrified but I'm also worried that the stream in itself will be a bad experience because lets face it, Ninja is super intense. He was screaming and shouting and blaming others when playing Among Us which is supposed to be super chill. I'm just worried that if he brings that intense(and annoying at most times) energy to the stream, how many people are gonna be turned off from the game/stream?

sadly I think thats what a lot of people are looking for and it makes fun... its all about how you create your community at the end... well we will see, but I feel bhrv really feels pretty in bad spot due to that they lost during halloween almost 9k players which is insane espexially for horrot theme and as only game of this genre on market... So thats why they are trying to push on this side...

And I dont blame them.. game is in utter ######### status, insane amount of balnce problems - but balance team still know what is best for the game seems like... ignoring community, repairing game , unbalanced maps, perks, pointless grind, graphic problems, fps problems etc etc... seems like more important is gathering as much new survivors as possible..

have you watched yesterday stream ? During that cartoon segment their community girl or who ever said that they are welcoming new KILLER footage or whisperers .. which means almost everyone is playing survivor and theres really only a few killers streamers - thats why the became so crazy popular, that helped them a lot as well...

as most of people here are tthinking : god I wish there will be another game like this, but with different company

If i look at the messages i got from time to time and some of the forum post here then i'm gonna say there won't be a difference imo

That would be great to be honest! That's how the game grows :D Some of those screaming rank 18s would hang around, learn which way is up, and the game would be healthier in the long run.

I know he can make those "being toxic" videos, but he is fun and he's honest. Or Domplays he's amazing and makes me laugh hard especially because he knows he's bad at DbD and he admits it.

Because everyone who watches the main DbD content creaters already has Dbd.

They what to cash in on Ninja's followers.

From a business standpoint yes, kids should be the target audience.

They have a lot of time on their hands, are exploitable, and always want to show off cosmetics to their friends.

Why have dbd content creators who most of US know. Bring a big streamer like ninja and you get more players. I'd prefer pewdiepie since he has the biggest fan base and he only played the game when it was bad.

It's probably because using ninja will make it easier to reach a lot of people outside of the Dead by daylight fanbase.

Tofu, Tru3, Otz even people like Demi or Noob3

Already have a vast majority of their fan base into them because of dead by daylight the people who watch them usually already have the game or already planning on eventually getting it.

Ninja is way more popular than those guys and has fans who don't play Dead by daylight who might want to play because they see him playing

I hadn't thought of this. Now I feel a little nervous. Most ppl I've met in game and forum are super chill, but if the influx of new players brings a 10 y/o kid telling me to stop playing DbD and make them a sandwich...I might lose my ######### 💅

Why not? There are tons of kids playing DBD and buying skins already so it obviously has some appeal for kids. Not all of Ninja’s viewers are underage either, and even people who don’t religiously watch him might hear about him being on this stream. I don’t know how many viewers he gets but he has 16 million followers on twitch. That’s massive for DBD.

I think some people because they play too much dbd and spending money on the company, they think that having some sort of ownership and tell bhvr why you did this and that. My idea is better than yours.

They decided that the best streamer for this, is ninja. Respect for one time.

Crearly bhvr targeting to bring new blood.

Telling to some fog whisperer to cover this event, i think bhvr has nothing to gain from it. Same viewers.

I think it’s to raise Demo’s playrate. Getting someone like Ninja to play could get more people to buy it so they can be like a famous streamer. Attracting his fan base is a bonus because of how young they are.

I think it has to do with marketing, Ninja is a lot more popular then most if not all of the other DBD content creators( No offense), so it would make sense for him to play this game, The Devs are clearly trying to market are trying to market their game. And they are doing Stranger Things as well probably the most well known modern and well known franchise so far in the game.

The ONLY reason to hire ninja is to bring in fresh blood, no point using a well known DBD streamer as that would benefit the existing player base and do very little to encourage new players to explore the game. I can’t imagine hiring ninja was cheap but I’m sure it is within the marketing budget.

Seems like a smart play from BHVR, I hope it pays off for them.

I guess someone here has no knowledge of economics and marketing. Asking why Ninja is like asking why they use famous actors to advertise a product. Who knows why, a true mystery worthy of Sherlock Holmes apparently since people seem to have been scandalized and indignant by this choice :)

    Ninja’s worldwide renowned.

Thats the only reason I could think of. Maybe he has connections and was involved in setting this up, or possibly Gaten’s representatives preferred or recommended Ninja, idek.

He doesn’t seem like a loyal DBD player. I personally would have preferred someone like Paulie Esther or even Puppers to hang with Gaten and create some great convo while maintaining a friendly, professional, fun atmosphere. Ninja’s a bit too big for his own good and often comes across as a spoiled sellout, that’s just imo. I don’t pay much attention to those types. Hopefully my assessment of him has been misled.

    It´s just marketing.

He has millions of fans. Doesn´t matter if you like him or not. YOU are talking about him right now. So it clearly worked. This will dramatically increase the DbD playerbase.

Give the person that came up with this a raise.

Honestly you're right on the money for why I think he probably isn't the best choice. Like I understand that from a marketing stand point it seems like a good idea but with the way he acts... idk it just seems like its a way to invite even more toxicity to a game that has a bit of a rep for already having it. Yes there are some wholesome moments but idk if I'd want more people playing the game that tbag or Face camp, etc.

I honestly hope that Ninja brushes up on his dead by daylight knowledge when it comes to things like perks because I've began to look at clips of his brief time playing this game when mixer was still a thing and he'd constantly claim that the killer was stream sniping but it just turned out that the killers were using BBQ and Chili.

    Short answer? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Long answer? Big, addiction-prone viewership that will totally follow their god to whatever multiplayer game he plays next and pump in cash like they're filling a ball with a hole in the bladder.

Ninja... large following, devoted followers (for some reason) and that all means great advertising and more players

This isn't exactly new. They've been trying to poach popular content creators from other games for at least the last year.

One of the most popular Warframe youtubers said she got given the game for free by the devs and uploaded a few videos, but she never went further than playing KYF.
