I hope BHVR learned from this years halloween event.
The previous halloween events had fun objectives to complete and offered full outfits for free, and this one is basically get a few extra bloodpoints and use your shards/auric cells to buy the outfits. I know BHVR have been giving us free shards daily but that's only because the game just dropped like 9k players so it's a way to get them to come back. It's clear BHVR got scared by the drop in players so maybe that will teach them a lesson for future events, to actually make them fun and rewarding?
I still feel sorry for the people that spent much extra on the outfits when they were 21k, either paying with auric cells or using the shards that took hundreds of hours grinding for. It really isn't a nice way to treat the community.
Please BHVR, I love this game so much but it is clear your want for money is affecting the quality of the game and player enjoyment right now. I just ask that you put the game first (fix the bugs, bring back fun events and all that) and people are still gonna buy skins so it's a win-win.
and speed up the rift progression please
Thanks.

I don't think they've learned anything, honestly. As far as I can tell they've learned that they can tighten the screws on micro transactions, and the most they'll get is a slap on the wrist from the community.
Criticism has been met with anything from being completely ignored, to being deleted, or worst case, the offender being banned entirely.
They don't seem to want to hear the feedback, or in some cases are actively hiding it where people won't see it.
It's really sad to see, I had just gotten back into the game, but their handling of this event has turned me off of it once more, I don't know if I'll continue to play after the Blood Hunt.

Yep I've heard about people getting banned for criticising them. It just seems like they don't care too much about the game anymore but just about taking advantage of their community to get the most money possible.

There not interested in us mate, they want to maximise revenue. They brought Ninja on board so he can bring his legion of kid follows with him, they did blood hunt, 60% off cosmetics and made the game free this weekend, all for the purpose of potential new customers. They didn't do any of this stuff for us. I wish the devs would of tried as hard for the current players who love this game.

Half the posts on the forums have criticisms about the game, nobody is getting banned for just complaining about something they don't like. The posters who were banned were dropping insults, calling people liars or crooks or hypocrites or morons or whatever. If you go around insulting people on the forums, especially mods and devs, you shouldn't be shocked if they ban you.

New players are more valuable to them.
Anyone who joins the game now is okay with predatory monetization, whereas older players might not be okay with it. But players who are okay with it will bring more money, so they are preferable, and older players (in terms of when they started playing, not physical age) are undesirable.

This is the sad truth, and with games like this, the longer they are in their life cycle, the more they depend on whales and new players to keep funds coming for development. The problem is, with DBD, aside from about 8 patches a year, there doesn't seem to be enough development actually happening to justify the costs sometimes. Their art team is working, improving the maps for next gen consoles, and cranking out new skins and new characters. But sometimes it really feels like the dev/balance team is resting on their laurels.
Marketing is working on twitch campaigns and damage control. I don't know who made the amazing decision to only give us enough currency for one free skin this year. And to not make the old skins available for said currency.
