as of recent I've noticed how gens go really quick even though I'm applying pressure I bring corrupt to stop but there going so quick 40 seconds into the game a gen is gone then another gen is gone then another in just 120 seconds even though I'm getting downs and hooks is this happening to anyone else or I'm I just loosing it?

It's totally normal to see gens pop early on. The early gens always take less time to complete than the last gens.

The more gens they complete, the fewer you have to patrol. When the match starts, they're all healthy and can focus on OBJ. As the match progresses and you get hooks/downs, they'll have to spend more and more time saving and healing. The longer the match goes, the fewer pallets they have to run to. And on and on.

Sorry if I'm being brief here but I've explained this rather a lot on these forums. You'll almost always lose the first 1-3 gens very quickly, but can hold the last gens if you're playing well (and failing that you can snowball all 4 survivors at once). I recently had a match where the survivors brought a purple shroud and 3 BNPs and popped the 1st gen in 27 seconds (I timed it). They got the second gen 60 seconds later. By the time I killed all of them they were still at 2 gens completed.

Don't stress the early gens. Gen times are fine.

It’s probably the blood hunt. Everytime is in try hard mode to get the most bloodpoints they can

In my opinion Corrupt Intervention only delays gens by 10-15 seconds at most

Also agree that early gen popping is normal so it's not a big deal to lose a gen or two early... but if three are done it begins to be problem for some killers

It just depends on the team. For a team of non-immersed survivors who all spawn in and run to gens to start working, it does little. For immersed teams who are really scared of the killer, it can buy you game-ending amounts of time when paired with other stall perks.

Same with a mixed team. I've had games where I spawn in, run to a gen, start working; and watch my team doing nothing on bond. Then they get downed, my gen gets popped, it was the only gen being worked on; and the game is essentially over from that point forward because the team is in recovery mode the whole time instead of slamming gens like they should be.

I've had matches like that... but without Corrupt being used

I fell back to R20 so... yea

People on DBD in a nitshell

Dont wanna enjoy a double BP event together, still gotta try hard and get not that many BP (then they genrush and complain they didnt do many BP...tempted to do a topic to explain how you collect BP tbh)

I mean the Q times are fast enough I don't see why you would need to stay and grind out BP in a game unless there were a ton of cakes offered. Survivor gameplay is not complicated. Rush gens unless you are given a reason not to. But some people are still so scared by it they are paralyzed by fear and the entire team dies for their inability to act.

I had a game earlier where someone DC'd at 5 gens left because the killer was slinger. I was the obsession, and was the only survivor able to hold a chase with the killer. I had aftercare on one member, and empathy on another. There was an injured David literally running around doing absolutely nothing, hiding in lockers, etc etc WHILE IM BEING CHASED as the obsession. At red ranks. I literally ran the slinger across the entire map while this guy did nothing. We got to a jungle gym, where the david was hiding in a locker, and the slinger accidently pulled him out of it looking for me and killed him. If he had done gens we would have won 3v1 but it ended up being a hatch game.

I think the gen speeds are fine for a solo Q environment, especially with the ruin undying meta. They are probably too fast for a meta SWF but that's a problem with people on comms in a game designed around no communication with your team.

I'm gonna sound rude but I don't mean it like that.

Look for hints like crows, scratchmarks etc learn when to slug and when not to.

If not possible, run both pop and corrupt or ruin and undying.

When you start in a match, if you see 1 gen close to you, go to the side that has more, for some reason it seems that survivors spawn where there are two gens close.

If you spawn right in the middle, I wish you luck.

    Also bring perks like whispers.

Other thing that I also suggest is learn when to abandon a chase or when is it not a good idea to continue that chase.

But yeah it is normal to see 1 gen pop before you down someone, that is why tracking perks are amazing and that is why whispers is the best killer perk imo.

i even lost 3 gens without getting a single down and still 3k/4k'ed some games (in red ranks). But it's sweaty and survivors have to make mistakes. And you need to play a little bit more, let's say clever (some would say scummy or unfun) in some situations. I managed to win 2 games with Ghostface yesterday after a bad start (both had a longer chase in the beginning, 3 gens done after 2 min) only because i slugged a lot and took advantage of their altruism. I was also very lucky that in both games no one had Unbreakable. So, it's still possible to win if you're sweaty and have a little bit of luck but it probably wasn't fun for everyone...

I know... It's like killers are trying to kill as fast and efficiently as possible.

AND Survivors are trying to do gens fast and escape as efficiently as possible.

    This. Has. To. Mean. Something.

I'll run some tests and get back to you about this enigma😁

    Sarcasm^^^^^^

This is why Ruin and Undying are needed especially if you can apply pressure to the gens. It will force survivors to do totems and really waste their time.

I can't help but notice that the last 72 hours, I would say 50% of my games have been on wreckers, another 40% on cornfield, 5% in Macmillian and the last 5% being on a slim combo of Hawkins or one of the school maps. There are so many maps and options in the game, but I keep getting stuck on these huge ass maps lol. I would love to have more diversity but it hasn't been and it's like of concerning.

Nearly every wreckers or Corn map, I have faced nothing but gen rushing, hustling swf. And that's fine it's part of the game , but I don't quite understand the mentality of rushing the game as fast as they are. I'm getting multiple hooks and patrolling gens, ironically, I think that's kind of my issue since I'm not camping or heavily sticking to the people I hook (because it's quite poopy for the survivors experience) but the games come to an end where I'm 26-28k and they are out the gates with 2 or 3 people living and scoring 18-21k.

I don't see the games as a "loss" or "win". I'm actually, unfortunately, starting seeing the games boring now; as I have seen killer mains complain about on the forums and they are looking for an experience of cat and mouse, some good plays, etc. you know, a good quality game of rescues, a sacrifice or two, some good chases. The moment I get to a gen, they are gone with their adrenaline perks and there's no way I'm catching up lol. Of course today would have been a good day to be slinger. Oy.

I played 12 matched today and 9/12 of them I ended up opening the gates for the swf because the damn game was over in 8 mins lol. It doesn't help either that my mmr is keeping me facing these rank 1 games. I'm bouncing from rank 5 and 4 and still getting nothing but 2k+ hour teams. I would have figured they would get bored of just gen rushing and getting out the gates asap. Figured they would want to have some good chases and show off their looping skills. But rushing gens and then dipping out to que to the next game. I could do the ruin, undying, nooed, but like, it's dbl BP weekend. It's a free weekend for alot of people, i just want to give a good experience to help promote "healthy" trials. The one win I did today with meta perks and the rank 1 swf team just wrote paragraphs of how I am a sh*tty killer and a horrible try hard, sweaty AF but they rushed gens and all died not doing my totems, or playing the game to it's full extent.

    kekw.

    To each their own.

My solution is using piggy. She stalls the game really well to make a even playing field with the really good gen teams.
