SELFCARE worse than NO MITHER, change my mind
If you have team mates with Self Care and always use it when injured its hardcore mode for yourself and worse than using no Mither. Change my mind if you can.
Especially now with the current Undying, Ruin, Tinkerer, Surveilance Meta where survivors have to pressure multiple gens at the same time is key to get the objectives done.

Are you saying it's hardcode more for you, the person stuck with awful teammates?
That's not hardcore mode. That's just solo queue.

Self care is a really good usefull perk. People's stupidity is what makes it seem like a bad one, that's not the perk's fault.
19 -
Wrong, its 99% of the time a bad perk. Im yet to find a situation where I was saying "damn if only I had self care now".
3 -
yeah wasting what 32 seconds to heal compared to possible being downed in less than 10. no mither is definitely worse.
simply being able to take an extra hit wastes a ton of the killers time compared to being injured especially with a exhaustion perk because you can get hit out in the open then use the perk to waste more time later on. with no mither the best perk to use is dead hard and if your caught out in the open your probably going be baited into using it then go down.
3 -
Feel free to have an opinion but nobody really cares. Facts are that perk itself is usefull and spares you time for gens if used correctly.
4 -
Inner Strength is better. Selfcare wastes too much time.
Also, getting stuck with teammates that would RATHER Selfcare than let me heal them drives me insane.
Actually insane. I'm posting from a locked closet right now because I saw a friend put a band-aid on himself and lost my mind at him. He fought me in here, chained it up, and swallowed the key. I need someone to check any toilet he uses for the next day or so.

Well according to the action economy the team with the most turns wins, having one survivor heal another survivor for 16 seconds still takes up 32 seconds of time, while two person healing is faster in terms of the individual being healed, there is no time saved, self-care is a break even not better and not worse that running injured and finding a teammate to heal
self care is only as bad as the people who use it badly but depending on the other perks it can save time for both the individual using it and the team because good survivors who use self care bring other heal speed perks with it
if someone uses self care bad (using it 24/7 even if its not necessary or if doing it would mean the team loses and doing it anyway) its only about as bad as a team being overly altruistic but more as a one man army
if someone only has self care and uses it well its a break even on the action economy no time wasted no time gained by healing themselves but gaining time from using the heal state to their advantage to take longer chases or go for a save and protect a teammate without having more pressure applied through the killer getting another easy hook.
if someone uses self care correctly and has healing perks they save time which can make the difference in winning and losing as long as they use it right
tldr, bad survivors who use self care in a bad are bad, survivors who only have self care but uses it well is a break even, survivor who uses it well and has healing speed perks can be useful to the team for the time they save

if you get downed in 10 seconds THATS the problem: GETTING DOWNED IN 10 SECONDS. U shouldnt be in red ranks if you die that fast.
0 -
Thats not a fact
0 -
bruh against a good killer you getting downed that fast in the open dont be delusional i do it constantly against R1 survivors they can't do anything if there is nothing to use nearby.
2 -
U are bad then. Simple. If you think its standard to get downed in 10 seconds then u simple dont know what it takes to be a good survivor. Git Gud before harassing me as delusional
0 -
Selfcare = 32 seconds self-healing.
Other person healing you = 16 seconds offf BOTH survivors + time spent running ot each other.
The perk itself is efficient. Its just that bad survivors use it at the wrong time (e.g. Your team desperetely needs your help NOW).
9 -
yeah your bad if you get downed that fast near a pallet or a vault, once the game is midway through theres a good chance there isn't pallets near the gens the killer wants to protect. also doesn't change the fact that the extra hit wastes more time than a 32 second heal for a good survivor.
im still right :)

I use Self-Care + Botany Knowledge quite a lot. But I know when to use it. I don’t just go and sit in the corner of the map to heal when somebody needs saving. I can’t rely on my team to heal me, as I get survivors constantly running away and the majority of the time I’m the one having to do hook saves. It’s a lot easier to do this if you’re at full health.
People can say what they want, it won’t change how I feel about the perk. I can consistently be at the top of the scoreboard for BP and be the one doing generators, picking up slugged teammates, unhooking, cleansing totems etc.
Self-Care isn’t the problem. It’s the way people use it. 🤷🏻♂️

according to you the killer can get a hit on you within 10 seconds. So how exactly is buying time for the team to selfcare in a corner for 32 seconds (or more) just to get hit within 10 seconds again?
Ur arrogance just confirms it. Its usually the worst players who think knowing the best and refuse to bring arguements aka "IM RIGHT MUUUHHH"
0 -
It’s not like you brought any better arguments for your case...
4 -
Why should I waste my time writing an essay to someone calling me delusional who probably has only 100 hrs in the game, camps shack and any other pallet, gets hit in 10 seconds and runs in straight lines while he is so stubborn "im still right :)"
0 -
That’s a lot of assuming without any grounds though..
2 -
buying your team 10 seconds EACH for 32 second self care, that sounds like breaking even right there which seems like at least the bare minimum you want to do with self care
0 -
There’s nothing wrong with either perk, PROVIDED that THOUGHT is put into how they’re being used.
Self Care is AT LEAST meant to be used with a med kit for its efficiency bonus. The self healing without the med kit is just meant to be INSURANCE in the event of needing to heal again because the med kit ran out and no team mates are nearby. Ideally a player should be running the above with Botany Knowledge if they’re intending to be able to heal themselves if needed. That way self heal never takes long, and they’re still equipped with a loadout that’s useful for their teammates as well.

@LowSpecGamersMatter @AChaoticKiller you might want to stop attacking each other before drawing the attention of the mods.
2 -
@Kebek is 100% right. The perk is fine, some people just don't use it at the right time or run half a mile to use it.
32 seconds to heal or 16 seconds from a second person to heal is a wash.

Everyone will have an opinion. I appreciate you sharing yours.
No perk is REALLY better than another. What good is Deliverance if you’re 1st hooked? What good is DS if you never have the option to use it? Many perks are high-risk, high-reward.
All that really matters is how you use them. You can use perks that help your weaknesses in gameplay, or perks that make your strengths stronger.
And can we please stop with the “change my mind” threads? It’s not anyone’s task but your own to choose what you believe.

How about when you are injured with no med kit and nobody left to heal you?

Self-Care is actually a decent and reliable healing perk. People just hide next to a pallet to heal every time they get injured, wasting a lot of time, and therefore earning it a bad reputation.

Applause.

Self Care/Botany... Mmm. That's a nice one. Especially with Desperate Measures.

Stealth killers exist. Stealth Perks that can give killers easy first hits exist. A perk that prevents those from being 1 hit downs is obviously better than one that gives them 1 hit downs for free when they shouldn't have them.
If you're rocking No Mither, are on a gen not next to a window or pallet and you suddenly hear the light rasp of metal on leather signaling that Pig just uncrouched right behind you... well... you're going down, getting trapped, hooked and will be useless to your team for probably a solid minute. The guy running Self Care... sure he'll also take the initial hit, but then run off with the speed boost to an actual tile and... if he's decent, eat a lot more of the Pig's time. On top of that, his ability to do that throughout the trial won't be impacted by his teammate's willingness to heal him.

If you run an entire build surrounding its use, it's not terrible...but then you're basically hindering yourself. lol.

Self care isn't a bad perk. No mither is a bad perk.
0 -
I’m a big believer that self Care should always be ran with BK and a med kit. That way it’s both useful to yourself and your teammates.
0 -
I’d say no mither is a worse perk, but self care teaches bad habits.
With no mither you never ever need to worry about healing and can thus focus on gens/saves. On the other hand self care encourages players to sit in a corner and basicly afk for 40 seconds. It is handy say in endgame when you need to get past a gatekeeping killer, but usually in the long run it’s not worth it.
0 -
Well, you started this off with 'change my mind' so something tells me you don't actually want a discussion...
But think of it like this. No Mither doesn't do a single, goddamn thing for you, other than severely limit your chase. It cuts your time in half, say you run a killer for a minute, losing a health state every 30 seconds. With no mither, that chase goes down by half because your losing a health state.
Self-care might not be an amazing perk, but I'd rather have it then no mither.

I like to run self care with resiliance, maybe spine chill as well, that way I can 99% myself and keep my speed bonuses. Then when the killer comes, I tap myself to be able to take a hit and get outta there

Petition to rename,, selfcare,, to guess how stupid u are equiping this.

I had a rank 1 teammate self care against a ruin/tinkerer/undying Blight after every hit. By doing that, not only did he let the gen he was working on regress, but he screwed me and the other teammate cause we both were pressuring gens while injured. In the end me and the injured teammate died and he got hatch.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

First of, i dont have to change your mind, because you have no say in what perks i run, and i don´t care what perks you run.
But as a mindgame, say we are in a game together as 4 solo, and i dont run self care.
It happens often enough, that your fellow teammates don´t heal you, because they want to pressure gens instead. (also, if the killer comes, hehe most likly go for the injured one, giving these survivors an easy out). That means, i wont be the one saving you from the hook by a camping killer, because i wouldn´t save you, i would just trade places. The other guys are to busy doing the gens, they wont come either. I hope you enjoyed dying on your first hook because i couldn´t heal myself.
