Cross play, good in principle, awful in reality

where to start?

the horrible load times

the even worse optimisation and lag

but what's worse is it's brought the skill level of the game WAY down...

if i'm not playing killers that just want to do their daily (so are trying to get survivors to farm)

i'm getting absolute idiots that haven't got a clue how to play the game even when i'm rank 4+

it's obvious that its brought the average age of the player base down ... full of kids trying to troll.

It's whatever. Seasoned PC killer players feast on the console kids. For someone used to having to run the loops of 2017 as an M1 killer this game has been turned into easy mode, and it's not terrible. Easy wins, easy BP, a relatively chill experience mowing down noobs with whatever killer I feel like.

That's why its called "cross" play.

    Because it makes you cross.

Works fine for me, personally, and most people seem to enjoy it.

I have many issues with console players, but I don't believe that console players lower the quality of a game. I feel some players on PC have 3 or 4 years and Thousands and thousands of hours, and when they see someone not on their level, they get a bit too judgement and cannot get off their Mountain.

I do see Console players quit a LOT more then PC players, but I've seen plenty of console players do some interesting stuff. I'm currently Rank 4 and encounter plenty of good Rank 1+ Console players.

I also find console players taunt/BM a bit more. They don't have chat at the end to vent/taunt, so they need to get it out in game. PLenty of PC players will still complain after the game, but since console player cannot, they take it up a notch in game. (which is a bummer)

I'm pretty sure the increased load times are a result of the graphics overhaul, not crossplay.

I've been against some pretty darned good console survivors. I've seen plenty of potatoes too, but it's not like console has a monopoly on root vegetable players.

I've met loads of people playing cross-friends on different platforms, which is always nice. And it seems like console SWFs have adapted well to playing against the PC crowd. In the early days I was constantly going against console teams who would follow behind me to the hook thinking that I wasn't wearing headphones and couldn't hear them... or trying to 360 instead of looping because apparently that's hard for people with controllers to deal with. Now they know not to try that.

PC has a higher skill ceiling on top of already having better performance with visuals and sound.

A sane crossplay option would allow console to not play with PC and vice versa.

But all crossplay ever really was is a boon to crying PC players about balance. Sick of getting smoked by super efficient pc players mr weak PC killer? Well here is 4 switch randoms.

Hey 4man SWF sick of actually not being able to bully PC Nurses and Spirit? Well here is a poor SOB playing Huntress on console.

Thats all it is. Otherwise it would've been released with SANE options.
