Noed is fair against survivors who doesn't care about totems. Best on m1 killers that can't injure survivors with ability. Worst on killers with built-un instadown ability.

I wouldn't recommend to run noed. It's a -1 perk slot until endgame. Maybe you better take one more perk that help you before all gens done.

Just don't use it as facecamp insurance and it's fair enough. The problem with perks aren't so much the perks themselves, but the way people use them. If you want to run NOED, no-one's stopping you. Sure, you'll get shamed, but I get unironically shamed for making Self Care builds. People shame for everything and anything. Ignore them. If a perk is poorly designed or has flaws, I think most people would rather it get used to force the Devs to change it (Dying Light, DS, Ruin) than have it run less and never get a proper update/rework (OoO).

I'd say noed is balanced but stupid unfun to go against, which imo is still a reason for the devs to delete it from existence. Guess it's just one of those "well the statistics actually say that people using noed usually don't perform well in game so I don't think we need to look at it really" things

Its a cheap but not op. I personally think the speed boost it provides is unnecessary

NoEd is a balanced perk, easily countered and punishes those who ignore totems

And the predictable ones are trapper and wraith, unpredictable is Bubba and Billy

I would say it's cheap and unfair but definitely not OP. I would probably do worse overall if I had NOED using up a perk slot instead of a gen regression perk or an aura/info perk like BBQ.

Is it op? No. Is it fun to deal with? No. Is it crutch in many scenarios? Yes, it is. Is it well designed and deserving of a rework? Yes.

    (imo anyway).

It's garbage honestly. You have to keep in mind that:

-You have to wait till the endgame to be able to use it

-Hope that the survivors haven found all the totems yet

-The survivor you are chasing once the last gen pops could be injured thus making this perk useless

So much RNG for such a rather mediocre reward is not worth it.

You get waaaay more value from other perks like pop, corrupt intervention etc.

It is unfair. But only to the single person that you down as a result of it. Which will be me.

I fail to understand how anyone can think that unreliable perk, effect of which can be destroyed before it's even activated, is overpowered.

  • Elcopollo
    Elcopollo Member Posts: 773

Also, NOED goes well in any Endgame build. Remember Me, Blood Warden, Fire Up, Rancor - these are the perks you can synergize it with. Unless you don't have any gen-defence perks and are using NOED as a replacement for it.

I'd argue Ghostface just because no one sees it coming.

With Demo, Pig, PH, Huntress and Chainsaw Boys, though, you can avoid detection of NOED after first down. Ghosty will reveal it after first hit.

Deathslinger because it works with power, it is considered a basic attack lol

A buff? NOED can change the course of the game from a survivor sided match to a killer sided match in the endgame. Definitely not necessary.

  • PanicSquid
    PanicSquid Member Posts: 655

Noed is usually good for one kill at the endgame. Unless you get lucky and you have the survivors grouped up. So that up to you to decide its value. U prefer to kill my survivors before they finish all the gens

There is nothing unfair about NOED. If you want to run it, you do you. Plenty of knowledgeable people have already given good advice in this thread, so I won't repeat that. What I will get into is the idea of the "End Game" build. I know a lot of players swear by them. I don't. I think it puts too many eggs in one basket. Since fairness is moot, it is better to talk about whether or not NOED, or any end game Perk, is a good investment for the Killer. I would rather I got my hooks and kills prior to the gates being powered and opened. Having to do your most effective fighting at the end of the match seems misguided, and dangerous. Haunted Ground will let you get Insta-down during the game. Iron Maiden and Make Your Choice also open up interesting insta-down options. Devour Hope is also very effective. I get more traction out of these.

Survivors hate NOED more than they should. NOED is a gift to them, but they are usually too passionate about the subject to see straight. It means they have fought the Killer down one Perk all match. It means they have the opportunity to make sure it never goes off, and even if it does, they can still find and kill it before making a run on the gates. NOED going off doesn't ensure the Killer finds them, or downs them. Do you see my point? Survivors get all bent out of shape about it because they think it steals their victory from them. The problem is they haven't EARNED that victory until they get out of the match. They don't react this way to all the Perks I mentioned earlier (although they do the same thing) because of the timing. Their hopes are at their highest when they get that last generator up. Thus NOED hits them when they are most vulnerable emotionally.

It's not unfair, but it can feel cheap for the survivors. You're playing short a perk as killer for the majority of the game, so of course you're likely to be "bailed out" by NOED. It's a bizarre talking point that doesn't really make any sense. More often than not, it will get you one extra kill, which you could have got anyway with a different perk. It just comes down to the way it feels for people.

noed is not op all it can really do is get 1 down or none

Just out of curiosity what exactly would you want done with dying light. I'm asking because it's one of my top perks to use so just making sure I didn't miss something.

Its very strong. Seen countless games where killer was outplayed, catches 1 person, then noed is triggered and altruistic survivors are caught out cold.

It's a fair perk to use if you are trying a new killer. It can help stop getting humiliated at the exits and can atleast get you a kill.

  • NoOneKnowsNova
    NoOneKnowsNova Member Posts: 2,785

I'm aware of that, but usually when I face a Deathslinger I go out of my way to make sure all totems are destroyed because they nearly always run it.

When facing a Ghostface, Noed is the last thing I'd expect and often catches me off guard.

  • voorheesgt
    voorheesgt Member Posts: 827

Agreed. Use with Blood Warden to really punish the tbaggers camping the exit.

I've literally had the worst match ever turn to a 4k because of this build and the Survivors tbagging the at the exit.

Don't say that! You'll put ideas in devs heads and make them shadow nerf it without saying anything in the patch notes

If your playing trapper or wraith, idc use noed.

But Hag or Freddy, eeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh come on dude

For swf its not a problem, but for soloqueue with no totem counter there is no way your getting all 5 unless they have undying ruin.

Its annoying its not really good anyway.

Whos it best on? deathslinger i guess. Although thats also kinda annoying to go against.

  • RocketPenguin
    RocketPenguin Member Posts: 374

Its really comparable to adrenaline honestly, endgame, its strong and way too powerful if your already ahead in a match, and in general its just annoying to see.

  • Slickstyles
    Slickstyles Member Posts: 446

It's a solo que stomper. I don't personally run noed but if for some reason there's a challenge that requires me to run the perk, I would only use it on SWF's.

In my opinion, it's not really fair because most survivors ignore totems because either they can't find them due to hellish totem spasms (like on Lerys) or just because cleansing totems wastes a lot of time, and NOED can bring a game back for a killer who's doing #########. A killer can get a couple hooks only, but once exits activate they could get a 2k. ######### killers can go from having a 0k to 2k and above. Noed isn't too bad unlike some perks, but it definitely rewards and can tremendously help killers who fail miserably during a match.

  • MadLordJack
    MadLordJack Member Posts: 8,814

All 3 of those perks were changed. DS was... Buffnerfed so that there's a minor prerequisite, Dying Light was changed from a pro-tunnel perk to an obsession buff (for some reason) and Ruin was turned into the oxymoron that is a late game hex perk.

  • OmegaXII
    OmegaXII Member Posts: 2,220

Only if survivors allow it to be activated. This perk has too many downsides to make it good. You're forced to play with 3 perks the entire game, and survivors have the ability to remove it from play at any point of the match.

When i use it, it gives me 1 down at best, and then all survivors will swarm to hook, use DS BT bodyblock combo to get out. So.. no, it really doesn't help you much as killer. I would rather use some other perks like whisper than use Noed

No you can't. For some reason they still get the hex notification. Found this out vs a huntress yesterday 😆

True. I think that when it is activated, it is powerful, but it can drag down your loadout.
