Suggestion: Remove the ambience music.
This has irked me for a long time now: The ambience music.
Now I get why the chase music exists: To make the killer deaf during the chase, so baby survivors can juke the killer too. I personally disagree with that argument, but I still get it.
However what purpose does the ambience music serve? I have been watching alot of old Dbd videos from 2017 and noticed how quiet the music was, and how clearly you could hear the actual environment. Crows, wolves, the wind etc. And now with new maps that have alot of background sounds like Lery's, Yamaoka, Midwich, etc, it would be pretty cool to allow players to hear all these things undisturbed.
I am specifically referring to ambience music at the start, endgame music, carrying music, mori music, injured music, downed music, hook music, etc. Basically every music outside of terroradius and chase.

I like it, make dbd feel more like it's shown in the title video. Tense, listening to noises in the environment closely for signs of danger.

I agree! It keeps me on edge and I look around constantly, especially since the heart beat sounds a lot like the music at times...

Atleast make it toggleable for players. I personally prefer listening to the environment rather than some dull music. Back when the game was relased, it had some actually amazing sounddesign.
Do you really need music to get into mood?
