Did another ban wave just go out?
I don't know if the mods did a ban wave for atrocious behavior since I just got a post game chat directed at me I haven't seen in quite some time. I laughed it off silently but to some people they'll probably take it much more harshly. I just wanted to warn everyone that since the ban wave went out the toxicity is probably going to go up.

From all the whining, it sounds like this was a good one. Lots of toxic players banned.

Yup its always funny to see people complaining about getting banned for DCing or being toxic, you've gone on too long without being punished and now they are crying they can't get away with it.
So long as they don't simply ban people for first time offence or take the time to look into toxic people simply reporting others because they are angry and for no good reason.

Yup, major ban wave this time, quite a lot got a swift swing of the ban hammer for ther constant d/cing.

Giving permabans from DC’ing LOL. This game is casual, no competition. There is no leaderboards or stats. This whole ban wave is ridicilous.Perma bans are only for the worst of the worst, and it doesn't matter whether it's casual or not if you're doing it that much to get perma'd. Since to reach that stage you've probably ruined hundreds of games most likely so you got what you deserved.

Lovely how toxic people get because of a video game.

Quality post game chat. So glad the Devs implemented it. Isn’t arguably the worst addition to the game they ever conceived
.
In reference to DC’s. Just don’t do gens anymore, and if you’re not dead in the end let the killer sacrifice you. This should ensure no ranking up occurs. I’ll be testing once my week vacation is over.0 -
Excellent work devs! We must purge of the fog of the unworthy and usher in a new era of quality gameplay.Post edited by Peasant on5

I cant wait till they're finally able to ban on PS4. DC is one of things completely out of control at the moment. Imagine how massive the banwave is going to be.

Banning customers for DC’ing is good for marketing👍🏼, the fact that the game has so many fundamental flaws i dont blame anyone for rage quitting. I understand why narrow minded people think its necessary but in the long run it will inevitably be this games downfall. I can understand banning for harassing or sexual ect but for DC’!!!!!!!Just because you're a customer doesn't mean you have the right to do as you please. Other people - the ones using the product properly - are customers too.

DCing ruins the game for both fellow survivors and killers.I'd rather be facecamped with bubbas chainsaw revved in my face every other game than deal with a killer that DCs over a pallet stun.
I'd also rather deal with 4x DS, double battery flashlight warriors than survivors who DC from getting hit ONCE (not even hooked. Hit... one gd time). If punishing people that ruin the game for others makes the community a better place (and allows the people who actually want to play the game to enjoy it), then yes. It is good marketing.

Then they need to remove the option to leave while in game instead of misleading people . And according to you buying a product and playing it in your own home doesn’t make it legitimately yours, so you cant turn it off whenever you want because it’s ruining others gaming experience because of how you want to use your own product you’ve paid for? what im insinuating is they should issue refunds if this is the direction they’re going with.If you don't want to be banned, follow the rules. It's that simple. What you're insinuating is that you think you should be allowed to ######### on everyone else's experience without any real consequence.

Sorry but constant DCing ruins the experience of everyone else. But given that the name implies that you are an Ochido fanboy i assume thats one of your goals anyway.Dudddd said:Banning customers for DC’ing is good for marketing👍🏼, the fact that the game has so many fundamental flaws i dont blame anyone for rage quitting. Then there should be consequences taken against bhvr for the glitchs and bugs while in game because im not having fun when someone is exploiting or cheating especially when someones ping goes from 75 to 400 and im teleportation you think im having fun ??
The ping issue will never be resolved unless they get dedicated servers. They will never do this no matter how needed it is or how much we beg for it. It's expensive and they don't want to spend the money on it.

Let's not also forget that Behavior just took a huge bath on Deathgarden. I'm pretty sure that dinged their financials a bit. It's going to be interesting to see what they can do in DBD over the course of the next year. Yeah, I know their Steam Charts numbers have risen a bit, but that means squat if the players aren't buying the DLCs and/or Auric Cells. Making purchases is the bottom line that matters.

Please go play another game if you're so dissatisfied with this game. Don't need DC-ing people, sorry, off you go.
I for one welcome a ban wave for both obnoxious messages and DC-s. Though, @powerbats , I gotta say, DC is much worse than some racist slur thrown at you. Seen worse than what you quoted there. Granted, it's plenty nasty, but just words.
I'll definitely join @RuneStarr and buy meself some sexy skins only to show my appreciation.5 -

I have a bad news for you, you should read the EULA of the game you buy on steam.

People like this guy is whats wrong with society this guy demeanor is faul and for you to compare racism to something whats minor as an in game issue just shows a glimpse of your life . And i’ve already established that the dbd forums is plagued with 85% killer mains .
I love how guys like you always get personal when you run out of arguments

Yea Deathgarden is a dead on arrival game. Idk how they thought it would work. They took out any meaningful progression as well as the main element that makes DBD popular. Horror. People play this game for the horror aspect of the game. If this game wasn't horror it would have died long ago because of it's imbalances. Deathgarden has awful graphics, boring/repetitive gameplay, and no sense of progression. There's no real reason to play it for DBD fans and it isn't appealing at all to non-DBD fans. It has no market. They might as well save themselves some more money and drop the game now and cut their losses. And I can say first hand that people do not spend money on a game that they feel is unbalanced and not fun. If the casual player is getting upset/frustrated/etc relatively soon after playing, they aren't going to spend money on anything. A game I used to play a lot (Marvel Heroes) shut down because they pissed off most of their fan base with decisions they made and everyone stopped giving them money. So Marvel took their license away. Have to make smart business decisions and companies are doing less and less of that it seems.

I'm an Overwatch player since launch day. I followed Deathgarden, but never bought it. Here's why. I looked at the Runners with their movement abilities, wall-climbing, et cetera and immediately thought: Okay, so BHVR is trying to take a few elements from Overwatch, the popular kid on the block, and make a new DBD-style game with it.
Soon as I saw the Runners move, all I could see was that they obviously watched how Genji moves.
Then I considered their already stellar reputation for balancing DBD, and never gave Deathgarden a second look. I figured Civilization would be a better alternative.

You are absolutely correct. The horror element is what sells DBD.
As far as the progression? I'm a new player, and very behind the curve. The Bloodpoint grind for Teachables on so many characters needed for decent builds, and then the RNG of the bloodweb on will they actually appear for the other characters, is asinine. I will hit Rank 15-10 before I even have Perks needed for builds to play effectively even at those green ranks, especially thanks to monthly rank resets and normally deranking Vets.
The progression system in DBD, 2+ years after launch, is not new player friendly at all. It's a new player turn-off, at least for me and my friends (we're all in our 40s). I've actually started playing more Overwatch again as a result. If I want this kind of new player grind and Vet griefing, there are Asian MMOs for that.

Yea I agree that the DBD perk system isn't new player friendly at all. But, it at least has something for players to grind for and feel rewarded once they get it. Deathgarden only has a few cosmetics and that's it. Games like overwatch can get away with it because it's more of a competitive mulitplayer style game. Same as LoL and Dota. Games like DBD and Deathgarden will decline in players when those players feel like they have nothing to play for/work for. DBD has an amazing opportunity to do something fun and awesome with devotion. But, they have currently made account leveling as lame as they possibly can. There are zero rewards outside of currency you need to get stuff from the store. And that was just moved from one place to another. DBD has a lot of opportunities to do great things but they don't appear that they want to atm.

Yeah, I understand what you're saying. And I agree, the two game styles are vastly different. I was an MMO player for 20 years until Overwatch came out. I did my share of PvP in MMOs, especially WoW. The one thing I eventually grew to hate is the fact that you have to chew so much glass just to grind points for gear just to be able to even remotely stand a chance.
Overwatch came along, and I loved it. Learn the heroes, the ins and out of their kits, learn how to gauge enemy cooldowns and ultimate charge, learn the maps. It was player skill vs player skill to a large degree (but not completely, due to heroes countering heroes).
Eventually gave their Heroes of the Storm game a try, and loved it for the same reason.
Hell, I even enjoy Paladins with their loadout system. Especially because all cards are automatically unlocked, you then just spend 15-points adjusting their levels. Been playing it for almost a year now, on the side, and still haven't tired of it because I can experiment with different loadouts. And don't have to grind them, or grind and pray to RNGesus like in DBD, before I can do so.
Come over the DBD, and it's like the old MMO PvP gear-grind all over again, with Vets being way ahead of new players and able to even troll and grief new players.
I am realizing that that particular PvP game design is probably not for me anymore.

Is being toxic actually a bannable offense? Never really thought about this one. I don't care about the DC thing, never do it myself. But when someone complains I usually tell them to go cry to someone else and leave the lobby. Hopefully I don't have to start being nice to people.

I don't know about with BHVR, but in Overwatch or Heroes of the Storm, for example, Blizzard will silence your text and voice chat for at least a week as their first action. Then with the second punishment if you continue once that ends, the temp-bans start. The third ban is a permanent vacation from the game.
