Any tips for a new Deathslinger player?

Deathslinger always looked like he could be a lot of fun, but playing a first-person shooter without a reticule is unbelievably hard. I've played four straight matches now with barely landing a shot because the survivors keep juking. And to make matters worse, I have no other choice but to practice against these highly skilled players since there's no practice mode, which makes learning the basics incredibly difficult. I realize practicing against real players will help to improve my skills, but the entry bar has been set so high that it's a miracle that new players stick around at all.

We all know DBD sorely needs a practice mode, but until that day comes (and I hope it will) any tips on how to get better with Deathslinger?

    Bueller?

I guess the lack of response is another way of saying, "Stop playing Deathslinger". 😄

Appreciate the tips. Yes I'm on console so obviously a joystick isn't going to be as precise as a mouse. I know if I stick with it I'll get better, I just hate that I have to get stomped repeatedly while I learn the basics.

Glad to see more players giving slinger a chance. If you're new to him and it's difficult to adapt to his power I would strongly advice to not play to win early on but learn the ropes first. Otherwise you just might get too frustrated due to loses since he's not as simple to play as many may claim and it might take a while to really get used to him.

Just play to learn as much about his power each match as you can. Don't feel pressured to defend gens etc or risky shots that you think would be hard to hit but rather think as much as you can about how to properly use your power, go for easier shots first and then progress to harder ones. Once you get used to using him and get better as him you should start doing well even versus really good survivors.

I'll link my steam guide on slinger in case you would find it usefull.

I hope you'll enjoy your time playing him.

Your entire game plan is aiming at people and shooting them. This is all Deathslinger does and the only way you're gonna get better at this is by practicing a lot.

Also run monitor he basically turns into a stealth killer.

Get used to how the camera snaps to ADS. shots below a certain distance are unreactable and a free hit. If a survivor is within mid range faking ads will make them panic and begin juking giving you a free hit. If they dont try to dodge jsut shoot them.

Really want to make a "stop playing him" joke, but ehhh...

I wanted to share that I wanted to, though.

Timing is important... He moves slower when ADS'd so as stated before don't spend a lot of time ADS'd

Learn how survivors path around you and take every advantage it offers

RT (R2) first... then spear them for the down

As you learn adjust your perks to match your strengths and weaknesses

Reload and stun duration addons are your best friend as you learn him...
