Another game license? Possibly Until Dawn?
Seems like a shoe-in. It's a perfect fit.π

Possibly not, Wendigo isn't exclusive to Until Dawn. Not to mention that if it was a license they would have done a much better job at teasing it aside from a hand

Teasers are meant to tease. If we saw any more it would have been looked upon as a full-on reveal.
And true Wendigos are not exclusive to until dawn, but that is a universe that would fit really well in DBD.

Do you not remember Freddy's tease? It was literally a rusty pipe and then 4 scratch marks appeared on it. It was a dead giveaway. Not to mention Pyramid Head where his head was literally front and center.

I came on board after Freddy and right before Silent Hill. I know the number four was in the shape of Pyramid's Head but that's all I remember.

Here I'm hoping it's this girl from "Evil Within" (Laura)

It's not licensed. If it was, they would legally have to put trademarks at the end of the video, even if it was a teaser. There are none, so it's original, at least most likely.

The
SawandLeatherfaceteasers didn't have any sort of licensing trademarks that indicated their source IPs.1 -
But... They do. At the end of the Leatherface Trailer, there is a lengthy portion of the trademarks dedicated to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. At the end of both saw trailers it states "All other trademarks are property of their respective owners." They are literally legally required to do so.

Where? Nothing in the Leatherface video indicates it being the TCM IP, and the same with the SAW video (though that one is explicitly obvious that it was SAW).
Keep in mind I'm referring to the teasers of those chapters, not the trailers. Because the Chapter 18 video released this morning is also a teaser.

As long as there's nothing tying the teaser to a specific license within the teaser, it can definitely get away with no trademark hints.

That was my bad, I didn't even know there was a Leatherface teaser, but still. At the very end, when they have the trademarks for BHVR, the last one listed is "All other Trademarks are property of their respective owner." That indicates another trademark is being teased within the actual video. The Leatherface teaser didn't even include Bubba and they still had to put it there. The newest teaser does not have that, they only mention BHVR, which indicates the killer is orignal. The teasers may not indicate anything, but they still have to mention the fact that it's another IP. Legality is a #########.

why do people think it licensed?

I personally don't think it's gonna be until dawn, mainly because it's exclusive to the PS4 and doesn't have a massive following, Sony is also infamous for how protective they are over their rights and would have to agree to put it on 3 other platforms, but on the other hand that didn't stop behavior from getting a deal with konami, so idk. I'm not saying I don't want it, I just think it's unlikely.

I really don't want a wendigo.

Every trailer or teaser must have a trademark by Behaviour no matter if itβs licensed or original.
Although all of their teasers from this year have been original

It's not that people THINK its licensed. Its that people HOPE its licensed. Until Dawn is one of the most requested chapters in DBD history, top 5 at least.

Yeah until dawn is right up there with supernatural. Plus one would think that with BHVR having just released an original killer, that the next one would be a licensed killer. But we'll know in a few weeks!
