Anyone notice an increase in this?
IDK if this has always been a thing and I just never noticed it until now. Or its another HUR HURRRRR I found another way to be toxic lame meme some streamer promoted recently.
I am talking about attempting to kobe right before you go unhook the person. They attempt to kobe with enough of the bar left so it won't expire their hook status but they still have the chance to kobe. Why am I seeing this happen so much all of a sudden? Jackasses thinking wouldn't it be so funny if I void your safe unhook?

Yes. Ensure you stand and watch that survivor until they hit struggle if they do this and fail the unhook (yes, I said camp as a survivor).

I'm noticing how click-baity this thread title is.
14 -
There's more threads discussing this...
It just got shadowed by the teaser trailer for the next chapter
6 -
How is this click bait?
2 -
What?
1 -
I mean why not. Maybe I want points for a self unhook
10 -
Ive always done this as long as Ive played (bout 3 years). I got that achievement for unhooking yourself and I never used deliverance. It's so funny when someone tries to save you but you just jump off in front of them.
5 -
How is that screwing over your teammate. If anything its more efficient as you can start healing faster. Altruism is one of the easiest categories to max so take your healing points and stop complaining about something that only hurts your pride for some reason.
People have been doing this for years.
And if this happens so often that people unhook themselves in front of you then why do only 1.3% ( steam) of players have the not today achievement.
Edit: also it is kinda funny to watch someone stand there and disconnect after you unhooked yourself.

Why do you feel the need to open a new thread with the same topic as 2 other threads that are on the first page? And then with such a general title..
3 -
So there is TWO more? Good
because I didn't know. Good bring more attention.
THank whoever decided this community needed even MORE toxic behavior.
1 -
Spamming doesn’t bring the good kind of attention though. And three threads with the exact same topic kind of feels like spamming
3 -
Maybe survivors are finding out that that is a way to get extra survival points since those are relatively hard to come by. I can almost guarantee that the last thing on there mind is im going to deny this guy blood points. You and a few other people just decided to deem this action toxic because you don't like how other people have fun.
Why are you so bent out of shape over a simple action that rarely effects actual gameplay.

If you wanna try and jump, do it before people drop what they're doing to run across the map to help you. You just wasted, or attempted to waste, that person's time and rob them of their own bloodpoints. They could have continued working on their objectives otherwise.

So now you are telling both of us to throw the game. And it's not robbing you of blood points, You can still heal the person. They still have the struggle state. You are just mad because you missed out on points in a category you were already going to max out anyways.
If I kobe then nice we both get points. If I don't then you unhook me and we continue playing normally and I still have struggle phase.
2 -
Why do it in someone's face after they dropped everything and risked crossing the map to get you? I don't even get mad at the loss of bloodpoints. I get upset at the lack of consideration for my time and effort wasted when it could have been put to use elsewhere.

This is definitely not new but yeah, a lot more popular lately for some reason. I don't know about calling it toxic though. That's a weird term to call this. It's kind of funny when I do it, and then tbag my teammate, then they leave without healing, and then I chase after them or some other ridiculous #########. It makes some boring games memorable. I don't take this game that seriously.

I personally don't like it since you are potentially wasting the unhookers time and robbing them of points. Just my thoughts though.
1 -
Your time isn't wasted though. You can heal the person that just got off hook and now your side is in a better state.
0 -
This has always been a thing. It's not even toxic, it's just a meme-y thing to do.
0 -
I believe the issue is that if you were planning to unhook yourself, go ahead and do it before someone stops clearing objectives and puts themselves at greater risk of being hooked themselves.
Post edited by Gay Myers (Luzi) on2 -
Do people even play this game or at least understand it in this thread?
There's no risk to Kobeing if someone is right about to save you, you know you can attempt once and be saved, if you attempt when no one is coming for you then you can put yourself into second phase if you take time away from someone who hasn't gotten off a gen yet.
How. Do. People. Not. See That.

I'll wait for them to go to struggle, especially if I'm going across the map to go and unhook you. You want to waste my time going out of my way to go and save you, then I'll waste yours. I like running we'll make it a lot, so yeah.
3 -
No risk for you personally, sure. Risk for the rescuer and the rest of the team, yes. I don't want to put objectives on hold for someone who just wants to unhook themselves. That puts me at risk, wastes my time, and puts the team as a whole at risk because it slows gen completion and you risk throwing yourself into second stage prematurely anyway.
If you're gonna attempt a jump then do it on your own time when no one is going for you.

This!

Because, as cows has said, I HAVE THE NUMBERS.
0 -
You were going for the save anyway, there's a 96% chance they don't kobe, what exactly are you risking? lmao.
I'm trying real hard to figure out how a 4% chance to kobe somehow wastes your time when it's a rare occurrence.
This forum is absolutely mind boggling.

As not everyone runs kindred, thus cannot see the aura of someone coming for them, and as threads complaining about various very visible killers not having counterplay 'because you don't see them' make it clear that people can't use their eyes... they prolly just don't know someone's coming for the rescue

Jesus Christ there are some really hateful people in here getting so worked up over something so benign in a ######### video game. Take a breather, chill out, it's not the end of the world that someone wriggled off the hook in front of you.
0 -
If someone attempts to kobe right infront of my face, I will make sure they will hit struggle stage.
If you dotn want me to save you, dont wait until the very last moment to tell me.
1 -
It's always been a thing but I don't get why it would upset anyone
0 -
Defenetly gonna do that if i see a random...or a friend try to do it in my face >:)
1 -
Jesus Christ, this is a new low. You ran out of things to complain about, so now you need to complain about something that not only does not affect you in any way, but is beneficial to your teammate? That is just sad. They did not plan on unhooking themselves, so no, they're not going to do it immediately. The whole reason they do it is because it's a win/win. They fail and you unhook them, or they succeed and maybe get an achievement. There are so many things in this game to complain about that actually MATTER, and you choose the most insignificant, meaningless nothing to complain about, and then try to use "omg toxic streemurz" as some sort of scapegoat? I think you should play a single player game. Then you don't have to worry about your teammates having free will.
2 -
I've always done this. Simple reason is because I want the points for unhooking myself.
It's only toxic if you take it that way. If you let me go second state then don't complain about losing if you end up going down to 3 survivors left lol
1 -
I use to do it as a hail mary for progress towards the "unhook yourself 50 times" achievement.
If I fail, my teammate is still there to unhook and no harm done. If I kobe, I take points from my teammate, but because there was no guarantee that it was gonna work I didn't consider it wasting there time as if I had not attempted it would have taken the same amount of time for them to get to me and then unhook.
Eventually I unlocked deliverance though

I want to do this, but are we sure this is not bannable?

I'm closing this as from the looks of it OP does not want to have a proper discussion but blame a specific part of the playerbase and just argue with people instead of discussing.
