Save the best for last bug

I was playing Pig today and I believe after I ambush attacked the obsession, which normally doesn't count as an M1 attack, made my stacks of Save the best for last go down to 2. After that I hooked the obsession and he died. For the entire rest of the game I could not gain any more Save the best for last stacks, making my perk completely useless. Hopefully you can figure out why it happened and fix it. Has anyone else had this bug happen yet?

After killing your obsession, you cannot gain any more stacks.
