The Chapter 18 Killer Is Not Licensed
Just quick tread, none of the recent licensed killers had a teaser, just release trailers, so I think the new killer isn't licensed...

Actually I think the only 2 licensed killers that did not get a teaser trailer were Ghostface and Pyramid Head both of which had circumstances that made them somewhat different.
The Ghostface trailer was shown during the anniversary stream for the third 3 and the character had already leaked in an earlier console build to the point they did not even try to hide that he was the character.
Pyramid head was also part of an anniversary stream and was teased as part of the design of the 4 in the anniversary stream.

With the recent teaser, Ive seen people try to guess whether this new chapter will be listened or not, since what little we saw of the new killer has been thinking we could be getting a chapter based around The Grudge or Until Dawn

I believe it will be original since there are no trademarks and stuff, but that doesnt mean It cant be the wendigo because the wendigo isnt owned by anyone.

no trademarks, leaks suggest it’s purchasable with shards (though it could change), Cote made some comment on concept of their new killer looks awesome (could also mean a later coming killer) and the teaser doesn’t strike me really as licensed

So far nothing looks like licensed. And if I remember correctly, there was never a Teaser Video for a licensed chapter.
So my guess would be original - what I would prefer, IMO BHVRs original content is better than the licensed content.

I don't think it's licensed. There is nothing to prove it's licensed. We haven't gotten a teaser for a Licensed killer since the Pig, they've all just gotten trailers immediately.
To me, all the ties to Until Dawn are pushing it. The arm doesn't look nearly long enough, and the woods aren't snowy.
I don't have faith that Sony would license out their IP to a company like BHVR. I think Konami only did so to get the name Silent Hill known again, I wouldn't be surprise if those rumours of a Silent Hill 1 remake are true. And, if I'm being completely honest, I think more people know and care about Silent Hill than Until Dawn, but that's just my opinion.
If it's licensed, great! New killer! If it isn't, great! New killer!
If I come across as rude or anything, I apologize - I now understand why people hate whenever SpringTrap mentioned, with how often I've seen this topic.
